scientology. well its not a religion here in the uk, just a cult. trading money for releasing demons always seems like a good religion to me. i mean no one loses, except the poor. or the people made poor by buying scientology. and the rich who waste money that could just as easily be given to charity if the rich person wants attention. what a cult.

Any religion that doesn't feel the need to shove their beliefs down my throat.
There are none.

Pastafarianism.(aka, the flying spaghetti monster-ism)
and/or
Nihilism!

Ancient Greek religion. At least the gods were very anthropomorphic and full of flaws. It was all good fun. Also there were a lack of "Kill the unbelievers" dogma that is a staple of the 3 big ones these days. It wasn't so damn serious. Or at least in another way.
And much fun reading about Athena being born from the head of Zeus who ate his father or something like that.
Hooray! Another person that said greek mythology besides me. What are your favorite gods and goddesses? I like Athena and Hermes. Athena is a great role model for women even if she is a god.
3rd here. my favorite is Zeus. he banished the Titans to Tartarus, had 5 or 6 wifes and fucked random mortals beside Hera being pissed at him. also, when he found out his future son with mnymosyne, he transformed mnymosyne into a fly and ate her. and that son we gamers know better as Kratos. also, he used thunderbolts as weapons. how cool is that? holding a 1 million volt lightning and using it as a weapon.
I think the best thing about the Greek Gods is that they don't actually love you.

I think my favourite religions are Asian religions, because they tend to keep to themselves about their religions and they are rather peaceful - the religions, obviously, not the Asians, they're just as violent as everyone else, but at least they usually don't justify it with religion.

Apart from that, the Flying Spaghetti Monster and the Invisible Pink Unicorn are also great, of course. And the Discordians! (All hail Eris!)

Can't we call it people how don't believe in religion, instead of atheism?, it sound lame, and is kinda becoming a religion in itself..
Well on topic, I don't mind any religion who's never killed in the name of itself

I'm sick of people saying atheism is becoming a religion.

Religion is holding a set of beliefs, so atheists hold the set of beliefs that there isn't a God?
Whuh?
Exactly.

And every religion ever has killed in the name of itself. Except maybe the flying spaghetti monster.
Jedi-ism hasn't, I'm going to assume Buddhism hasn't because it would be foolish, and I'm also assuming Taoism and Shinto hadn't in general, but i'm a bit hazy on that.

I wouldn't really call Jedi-ism a religion, nor Buddhism, but the point is that nobody has killed in the name of Atheism, people have killed in the name of God.

I like all religions that have a pantheon of gods. But I can't make up my mind between Norse, Greek, and Egyptian mythology...
If we are talking about modern day religions, I think that Buddhism is okay (if i were forced to join a religion, I would probably choose this Buddhism).
Otherwise, I find Christianity despicable and corrupt, and I believe that Islam is the only holy religion left.

Buddhism wins... It's kind of laid back, like if a bunch of surfer dudes created a religion.

People have surely killed in the name of atheism... That's why I'm not an atheist, I belong to own group... I call it Niceism.

Any religion that worships more than one god, such as ancient greek.

It keeps things interesting. Monotheism sucks.

Jedi-ism has enough people to be a religion, and is considered to be one. So is Buddhism.
And I'm convinced people have killed in the name of Atheism.

It's not an actual religion.(Jedi-ism) I just don't really consider Buddhism as one either.

And who has killed because they didn't believe in God?

Buddhism and Hinduism, because they're both basically peaceful, harmless religions (excluding the occassional maniac, but you have those everywhere, hence Jack Thompson).

Ancient Greek/Egyptian/Mesopotamian mythology, because it's so delightfully fucked up. :D

I'll be one of the many on this thread and say Buddhism, also for the aforementioned reasons. The philosophy aspect is one that speaks to me; its different to most religions I can think of.
