By the Gods... I don't remember that ever being part of the difficulty line-up... I honestly think that's an exclusive for PC...
It is, and by god it is joyous =D

It's Son of Sparda difficulty, but instead of say...3 Scarecrows, and an Assault in a room; you'll have about 12 Scarecrows, 4 or 5 Assaults, and maybe a Blitz thrown in there for good measure.

Most fun I have ever had playing a DMC game!!
You, my friend, are one hardcore gamer. Shit, if I could beat DMD mode easily, I might agree with you on that being fun. But if it is hard for me to combo on the console, think of me on the PC....

-imagines world war 2 allllllll over again..... with a Blitz thrown in for good measure...-
I can't help it, I really really liked DMC4, it was one of the best games that ran on my PC..but then I had to reformat it, and now my computer makes DMC4's framerate lag ever since(and yes I have downloaded drivers and all that)

But basically...umm.. DMC4 for achievements on my part...Beat all the difficulties except for Hell or Hell, got most of all the other small achievements, S ranked all Easy Missions, and I just S ranked all Normal missions before I stopped =S

But back on topic...I kind of like the new Dante, but I don't. I mean this game will probably turn out great, and it might be wonderful, but I really want DMC5..kind of like how I don't really want Sonic 4, not that I hate that, but I'd rather have Sonic Adventure 3
How old are you? This is an honest question based mostly around, depending on your age, my Sonic 4 may be your Sonic Adventure 3. (I want both!)

Too bad there is no Sonic Adventure Three... yet.

Personally, I never got the chance to finish DMC3 because my PS2 died and was ruined so I haven't been able to really get into it, so this Danté in DMC5 doesn't look all that bad.

Is it just me,or does Capcom always find a way to piss off their Devil May Cry fans? Now if the game doesn't have any fucking backtracking, it will be good. Also, maybe this is the FIRST FIRST Devil May Cry game, explaining why the hell Dante doesn't have his white hair.

I'm trying really hard not to hate it. I'm surprised I'm willing to give this time to explain itself.

Umm, 19 o-O 20 in a month...And I've played/owned all of the Sonic games in the series so far (except for '06, which I have only played for a few days)

I just feel Sonic 4 is taking a step backwards with this franchise, Sonic Unleashed's day stages had a perfect balance of speed, fun, and challenges, which pretty much mixed the old games and the newer ones together, so I'd rather have a game based on that, than anything else...

Though back on topic, I really did want DMC5 instead of this..DmC...=/ I was hoping it would continue the story after 4 with Dante and Nero, or it could be a super far back prequel, and had been an origin story for Sparda, explaining him, his rebellion against Mundus, and the birth of the twins and etc.

Nah... it's a complete reboot. It's been announced, sadly... this is a whole new Dante, the Demon Hunter... :T

Bah, this is just the dev team being too afraid to think big.
Why can't dante have a semi-free roaming, devil hunting city to blaze around in, with mad wall running/camera perspective going into crazy angles/destructible buildings/boss fights with no set arena?

Well, I have the DMC4 novel which gives BIG insight on a lot of hidden stuff within DMC4 if you would like it. Then again you missed out on every other game, so it might be a bit confusing...

Black Dante seriously somebody with photoshop skills get on that. Someone dream up a hip-hop soundtrack and lets get on making a fan trailer....

Edit though in all seriousness it would be nice to have a big name title whose main soundtrack didn't consist of rock or orchestral type stuff, it is actually one of the nicer things about Bayonetta and Persona three and four. I'm beginning to feel like I've heard all the music in games before save for Blazblue.

Capcom isn't really involved. Not internally. It's mostly the British company Ninja Theory. But they piss people off, then tend to take back the love. DMC2 to 3. Right? And DMC4 wasn't horrible.

It was one theory. I guess I just played Sonic a little too much as a kid... Yes. Yes I did. I need to play Unleashed. I heard the day stages were actually really good.

That super-prequel idea is great. I would definitely buy a game starring Sparda. How would they start the game though? DMC always opens with the "years ago Sparda came and kicked all the demons out of Earth" spiel. It would be neat to start out with a reversal. Evil Sparda coming to conquer Earth and his story at the beginning.

I third super prequel. Playing as the original badass would be interesting. Maybe seeing how he beat Mundus and sealed all the hell gates.

Well, it could STILL start that way:

"Many years ago, a demon named Sparda had blah blah blah and did blah blah blah... this is his story."

I also realized that most people didn't notice DMC4 was on Xbox... I was reading about the controversy of DmC, and it said "The game will be released on both platforms, instead of being playstation exclusive like the other games in the series."

I found myself talking to some friends the other day about DMC actually. Then one of them said, "man, too bad I only have a 360. Otherwise I'd totally buy Devil May Cry 4."
I get up, go inside, pick up my copy (we were talking in my backyard), and take it to him.
Blew. His. Mind.
I didn't let him borrow it though. Never again.

Oh I don't doubt the gameplay, it's going to be great (hopefully). It's just that they always fuck up on major details that could make the games so much better(like DMC4 minus Nero and backtracking)

Well, don't put so much expectation on the gameplay or it will never reach your expectations. The gameplay wasn't perfect for Heavenly Sword, but hopefully they do better on this game.

I, myself, was never a MGS fan. It may be the stealthy bits. (I can't sneak. I love running out in the open and wrecking balls with any weapons I can find.)

Yes, yes it would. But everyone's expectations will be so low, that it will of course surprise people in certain aspects. Just like how everyone kept putting very high expectations on the Halo games and they only bombed more and more because it didn't live up to the majorly high expectations.
The Anti-Halo Effect, eh? Now that would be a pleasant surprise. Sure beats the [Insert Bad Game of Choice] Effect. Like Too Human Syndrome.

I think with Devil May Cry 4, the presentation and transitions came off as dated for the current technological capacities for games now. I can't quite put my finger on what specifically it was, but I hope they can nail whatever was holding back the potential.
