Filler episodes...
clip shows?

every tv show does that and Anime is from Japanese ''tv''
I'm talking about every filler in the anime. Over extended fights with long power ups pointless dialog lines, every episode featuring at least! 5 minutes of flashback, episodes that are completly irrelevant to the story. That filler crap. If you cutted most filler from most animes you would get 10 minute episodes and probably less than half of episodes.

Omdz come on the shouting the moves is cool. Don't you wanna be a ninja???

CHIDORI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's true that battle anime is always the same.
New enemy
Enemy shown to have overwhelming power.
Training
Fighting at equal strength.
The climax. It looks like it's all over but then the hero wins somehow.

Death Note is the best.
The last few episodes of Deathnote are about as bad as it gets... With the introduction of two new main characters within the last... (Six?)... Episodes. That's horrible writing, it's like they made it up as they went along.

Also, another thing that's bad about most animes is that they're almost always based on a manga. Animes that aren't based on mangas, like Code Geass for example, are much better.
Yes i agree the second season is definitly worse than the first. If you was to actually read the manga there would be more detail. Things were missed out.

I'm gonna start watching Code Geass now. Is it a mecha anime (robots involved)
That's what I was saying. It's not made as an anime, it's made as a manga, thus making it worse in anime form.

Releasing an Anime on DVD and selling it for £20.

When the DVDs only have 4 episodes and sometimes a second disc containing the EXACT SAME episodes, only in wide screen.

Or releasing a 13 episode Anime series on DVD for £60.

The Inuyasha Formula

1) Meet villain
2) Get beaten
3) Train
4) Do something else
5) Beat villain
6) Repeat 1-5
Isn't this the "DBZ" formula?
DBZ may have created it, but Inuyahsa made it an artform.
Created? What about Hokuto no Ken, the granddaddy of that kind of show?

When the anime or manga goes on a totally different road like maybe GROWING UP TOO FAST or looking to old for their age. What the hell?
Jyu-Oh-sei - Main guy looks like he's 29 at age 15.

a teenage boy/girl dies and then becomes a grim reaper of sorts that has to hunt down and kill renegade souls.

*EDIT* 16-18 year old girls having GIGANTIC BREASTS
you mean 14-16...

One hilarious example is in GTO where Onizuka is introduced to not one, but two characters by their cup size.
You mean 12-14...
Anyways: Overpowered magic.

That all the decent Animes only go for one season whilst all the shite seems to get fifty seven seasons.

Cowboy Bebop
Samurai Champaloo
Last Exile
Ninja Scroll
FF Unlimited (Yeah it was meant to get two seasons but they cut it down to one season and then tried to squeeze the remaining season and a half in to the last half of the first season.) I still don't know why Kaze spent the entire season trying to fucking kill Makenshi.

All I can say is thank god for Ghost In The Shell, it's decent and it's gone for more than one season, saying that I would rather have had a third season rather than a remake of the original movie.

Hmmm... maybe the biggest cliche of animes is that I can't give a sh*t about none of them, because in my not-so-humble opinion they suck big time. ^^

Dontkillmeplzzzzzzz
Watch Death Note and say that again.
Actually, I've seen a few episodes of it. I must've been high to watch it. And I can tell you, I think it is not good at all.
I don't care to explain why, so don't bother plz.

The "love interest" screaming at the protagonist and acting violent towards him

Inuyasha (Kogome and Inuyasha), Naruto (Sakura and Naruto), Dragonball Z (Chi Chi and Goku)

I have one that nobody's mentioned that SHOULD have been mentioned:

The main character always looks behind him during the chase scenes, and therefore gets his nose broken on a tree. HATE that. Don't think it happens in ALL anime, though. Just Pokemon and stuff like that (Do those count as animes?).

Emotions consisting of badly drawn sweat marks and pulsating red lines.

The appropriate response to anything being "CHIBI MODE".

Basically, any time a character overreacts to a situation or revelation. This is a pretty broad generalization but it honestly is the single most annoying thing in most anime, especially in the shounen genre. Not all anime has this and the ones that are targeting an older audience (such as Spice and Wolf and Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex) tend to eschew these flaws. If anime producers put a greater emphasis on turning shows into animated dramas (thereby making the characters have more natural reactions) and moved away from making shows that are basically moving comics, then I think anime as a whole would be more popular.

For an illustration of what I mean, see Egoraptor's parody movie "Girlchan in Paradise."

Looks like most of the stuff stated here is Shonen tropes. Here's a hint: Don't like that crap, watch more Seinen. here's less of it.
