So you're saying I think like a gay dude, because apparently every heterosexual person ever thinks sex is the most awesome thing ever.
Clearly, I need more gay friends.
No, you just think like a straight dude with an iota of self-control, like I do.

More gay friends wouldn't hurt, though, depending on what kind they are.

What "kind" of gay friends are you talking about? I wasn't aware they came in several prepackaged varieties for your convenience.

Well, by "kind", I probably should've said "degree". The way I have it worked out in my mind is that different "degrees" of gay are like different intensities. They're even classified differently on the TV Tropes Wiki, in ranges of (in what I believe is order of intenisty): Straight Gay, Ambiguously Gay, Camp Gay, Flamboyant Gay, and Hard Gay.

But now we're just getting off-topic, here...

Isn't it a bit of a warning sign when you're applying stock TV personas to real life people?

I don't, believe me.I know full well people can't be described that easily. You asked a question, and I gave a ballpark answer, that's all.

NEVER i repeat NEVER turn down sex.... EVER

a couple of years ago i had a gf i had been with for about 7 months at the time. and lets face it she was a nymfo, she was nice sweet and kind but she couldnt get enough. so after 4 times the day before. at about 3am she woke me up and got on top of me. now this wasn't unusual for her so it wasnt any thing new. any how i was really tired as most people are at 3 am so i said maybe later. any way she got so offended we didnt have sex for about 2 weeks (long time for a 17 y o) and it all went down hill from there. we broke up 3 months later...any who as i was saying

No youre not weird, its called self control. So good for not whoring yourself. I once dated a future pornstar and all my friends still get on me for not sleeping with her, just because you can have sex with someone doesnt mean you should.
Basically this.
Unless you are a hedonist, sex should mean something.

I respectfully disagree. Sex is a biological tool for the genesis of the species. The desire is hardwired into your psyche. Sex doesn't have to mean anything to be pleasurable, we can assign deeper meanings to it, sure... but I assure you, sleeping with an someone 'merely' for the sake of sleeping with an incredibly sexy woman is still satisfying.

I'm a virgin so I wouldn't know.

But considering that sex can lead to an addiction, take it the same way as turning down some sort of drug. Just politely decline.

Note the word 'should'.
Physical pleasure ties into our evolved desire for instant gratification. Instant gratification being as temporary as it is I must respectfully disagree with your respectful disagreement.

What I meant was that sex should be a component of a healthy, fulfilling relationship and that self control is easy enough to excercise. In any other case it doesn't mean anything. Unless you are a nihilist, in which case go have sex with everything that moves because it doesn't matter according to your beliefs.

* Interesting that you chose to use the term 'genesis', as we are the dominant species.

Why can't you have it as a part of a healthy meaningful relationship and also allow people to have their meaningful but fun one night stands? It's not like a bunch of one night stands diminish your capacity to have amazing sex once you enter the confines of a meaningful relationship.

But, hey. I don't see myself sleeping with random people I'm not already deeply involved with. I just don't see why I should be arrogant enough to claim my way of doing things is the right way.

I never said my way is the right way.
I have no problem with people having one night stands.
I just said that one one night stands don't mean anything.

The word "should" implies that there is a correct way of doing things - and you know what it is. Why does sex ideally have to mean something? Why can't a person experience both meaningful and "meaningless" sex?

Also, the hedonist remark leads me to believe that you disapprove of the use of sex purely for pleasure.

Should should, in this context, be percieved to be pertaining to my opinion and my opinion only.

I never said that a person can't experience meaningful and meaningless sex, I just expressed my opinions about the distinction between meaningful and meaningless.

I had a roommate who regularly made passes at me. I don't mean she was a flirt or a tease; she tried some pretty devious stuff. I rejected her every time, and I don't regret it one bit.
