I'm thinking there is more to this story then it what is being told, it seems that article is WAY too quick to jump on the "this bar owner is anti gay" I can't imagine a bar owner turning away a paying customer for just a peck, he had to have known this would happen.

It's the same thing, you wouldn't kick a guy out of a bar for kissing his girlfriend would you?
Yes I would.

OT: Kicking them out is ridiculous, but if he told them to stop then it would have been a different story.

Why would anyone be offended by a man and a woman kissing? Obviously man-man is fine too but some people disagree.
But who would have a problem with people kissing? It..just..ah! Does not make sense to me. KISS ALL YOU WANT, WORLD!

I honestly can't believe people beat people to death in the streets for being gay, but it happens. In London, even. People are fucking stupid, and hate tends to cloud one's judgment.

If any couple is going at it like rabits, then I'd feel uncomfortable, no matter the gender. If it's ust light kissing, no problem. I think it was a bit out of order just for them to be kicked out due to their sexuality.

Depends on the bar. There are some classy bars that do not allow any stupid drunken shit or sober and others that don't care.

*edit*
Where exactly did this take place its an English site but it says Soho so my first guess is New York.

Second here is a more thought out answer to my first response:
The owner of a bar is able to throw anyone out for anything they deem worth throwing someone out. Before I jump on the OMFG the guy is a douche for throwing them out I want to know how many straight couples that he has thrown out. Just because they don't think it was anything obscene doesn't mean that it wasn't obscene to the bartender or the patrons of the bar.

Third:
Not liking the fact that two guys are kissing DOES NOT make you homophobic. Thinking that two guys kissing is disgusting DOES NOT make you homophobic. What makes you homophobic is being AFRAID of gay people. Thinking spiders are disgusting doesn't make you arachnophobic it apparently makes you normal. But finding something that is still being considered new disgusting is not wrong its pretty normal.

You know, I've seen straight couples kicked out of pubs for being extremely sexual too.

So I can't throw my arms up in the air and say this is discrimination. For all we know, they were being out of order. Maybe the patrons of the pub were all homophobes are they things were about to get violent - so the barmen removed the gay couple? Maybe they got too many complaints and business was being disrupted?

It's one of those things where you had to have been there. Maybe it was discrimination. Maybe it wasn't. Everyone will spin it a certain way to reflect their agenda.

And all the foreign students that go to the university I go to like to say America is the last backwards thinking country when it comes to homosexual people.

Anyway, I dont exactly know the difference between a bar and a pub (I'm guessing there is, the way the UK students like to turn their noses up when Americans say they are going to the bar and offer them to join). But we need a bit more clarification and knowledge of whether or not the same action is extended to straight sex couples and how extreme the "make out" was.

Like most who've posted before, I'm uncomfortable if any couple is making out next to me, gay, straight, or lesbian. It's just... time and place, people, time and place.

A Bar, it would be descrimination as I see it happen ALL the time. A Pub though is a different matter since its more family oriented (at times) and in Australia a Pub is more of a stereotypical "man's thing", gay OR straight.

Anybody notice the quote in the article:
"I hope people will at least consider that everyone has feelings and you have a right to do, within reason, whatever you want in public, if it's affectionate and loving."

Yeah? Like disrupting a private business with a protest "kiss-off" and hanging a banner the man clearly has no love for over his establishment all because you disagree with his decision on how to run his own pub?
Pot calling the kettle black much?

Would I be disgusted?
Unfortunately yes, that just the way I feel.
But would I make fuss about it and try to get them out?
No that just doesn't seem fair
