Why would anyone be offended by a man and a woman kissing?
Because it's disgusting. Mostly because the people doing it are usually ugly, but regardless, it's just not nice having to look at or listen to something like that. Why not go somewhere private if you are apparently so bursting with desire that you can't maintain some common fucking courtesy?

As you may have noticed, I disapprove of public displays of affection, but IF the bartender does allow straight couples to kiss, then kicking out the gay couple was discrimination, but still not really a big deal. We have no information in regards to his usual kissing rules and I don't personally feel that kissing in public is a right to be vehemently defended. Now, if he kicked them out because he suspected, or heard them say that they were gay, that would be completely unjustifiable.

I'd definitely throw out two guys making out before I'd kick out two girls making out or a man and a woman, that's just the way it is. Hell I think it's the owners choice, it's their business.

I should say though, so long as it weren't something totally indecent I would let it slide.

Guarantee if it was two girls they would have been offered free drinks.

Honestly, it's their bar, their rules. Sure, it's a silly reason but can they not drink/make out elsewhere?

Pubs can do it for any reason. I've seen couples kicked out for being over-amorous. It's just a sense of decorum. If they're causing a nuisance, then it doesn't really matter what/who they are...OUT!

basically this, unfortunately its how it works, not saying its the worst thing, its their business so they can do what they want

OT: regardless of gender if someone is gettin "hot n heavy" i tend to ignore it but its always a little awkward, but fuck you go into a bar, expect to follow the rules to the T or your ass is quite possibly getting kicked to the curb figuratively

I saw it's a terrible double standard; you know they would have been wooting if it had been two chicks.

Frankly I'd kick anyone snogging in public out, regardless of gender mix, on general principle. A quick peck on the lips is borderline, if there are tongues and moving hands, GET A BLOODY ROOM AND STOP INFLICTING YOUR PUBLIC DISPLAYS OF SO-CALLED AFFECTION ON ME.

No I'm serious, I hate seeing that crap, gay, straight, lesbian, whatever, keep it private please.

I'd be a bit uncomfortable going into a bar and having two people of any gender pashing madly near me. I'm assuming that's what happened, because I can't see them being thrown out for a quick peck.

it really all depands on how they were kissing... if there were making out, then yeah i'd expect a bar owner to kick out any two people that were sititng there sucking face, no matter their gender.

It's the same thing, you wouldn't kick a guy out of a bar for kissing his girlfriend would you?
Actually, it would really depend on how they're kissing and what else is going on.
I can see some scenarios in which a guy and his girlfriend might conceivably get thrown out of certain establishments for excessive displays of "affection".

Probably not the case here, but just saying... you never know for sure unless you see it on tape.

Considering the pub owners statement that they were behaving inappropriately, do you think they were? If you were sitting in the pub, would you have complained or simply minded your own business? Would you have found it disgusting enough to make a fuss or think of it as normal and move on? Do you think there is double standards under the assumption that the pub owner would have allowed a hetrosexual couple to kiss without kicking them out?

So heres the biggest question, whether this bothers you or not, would you have considered a regular female / male kissing the same thing? Offended or not, would you consider it worth paying mind to?
I consider it the same thing, both make me uncomfortable but I'm rarely forced to pay attention unless it's friends, either way it wouldn't bother me.

Unfortunately, as it stands, many people do have an issue with homosexuals kissing and such, somehow when I imagine a pub it's those people who I see sitting there, so though I don't condone that thinking, the owner might have done the right thing in terms of business if it was making clients uncomfortable.

It's kind of reminded me of my dad's outlook on sexuality at my local pub.

Obviously not exactly the same scenario but there is a lesbian couple who frequent my local pub, my dad, being a regular sees them quite often.

Now as far as I can tell everyone's(according to my dad) main issue with them is thus:

'A couple of lesbians hang out at the pub now and they only drink water'.

And that's it.
I don't know why sexuality or sexual preference have to be associated with this act, but for some reason it is.

I'm asked constantly: 'Graham, when you last went to the pub did you notice the lesbians?'

I tend to respond with: 'No dad, they must have been in disguise as completely regular people while I was minding my own business...'

Like I said, not really the same, just kind of sparked it off in my mind.

Like many other people have said, it really depends on the context of the situation really.

If they were being overly showy about their affections then yeah, maybe the owner is entitled.

And again, the owner of a public house is entitled to deny service to anyone he/she doesn't want to, Gay/straight/bi/polkadot, doesn't really matter.

This falls under the same reason why they serve they attractive women first they want to keep their customers happy and if people are uncomfortable with two men kissing its not personal its business.

That was a fast reply, so is smoking weed and under age drinking but they aren't going to stop we just have to learn to live with them.

Yhea, just got to live with homophobia and getting treated like less than human beings. Cause black people just lived with separate drinking fountains and women lived with not being allowed to vote.

Its astounding that people like you are fine with human beings being treated like second class citizens. You a bigot or a coward? Make me sick either way.
