When the website is called "Beautifulpeople.com" I'm actually not surprised. Some people are naturally better looking then others, that's how life works unfortunately. If people can't handle the criticism that people don't think they are good looking, don't post pictures on the internet, sorry to be so blunt but it's simple as that.

That and lets face it, the guy who created this site is clearly some kind of narcissistic douche who thinks he's from superior race or something
Pretty much this. What did you expect from "beautifulpeople.com"? That's like finding out the WBC's website, "godhatesfags.com" is homophobic. No, not everyone is physically beautiful. It doesn't make them bad people, or less deserving of love and courtesy; but they aren't physically beautiful. (No I don't mean that beauty = models. At all.) That said, treating people like that and using the term 'Shrek virus" makes this person worth about as much as used toilet paper. No matter how pretty he may be. Beauty fades (or can be gained with surgery), a dickhole personality is life long.

This doesn't really bother me. I mean, it'd be like any dating site created solely to match people of a similar interest. You don't want tons of people without that interest joining. I understand that beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I think the site owners are allowed to enforce whatever ideals they are going for.
-EDIT-
I should add that the way they handled it was pretty awful. Of course, what else would you expect from someone who started such a site?

so, what i gather is that there is a site for "beautiful" "people" and it's run by some twat i'm just going to call bollock for the rest of this post.

now bollock is well within his rights to create a site devoted to pretty people and admit who ever he likes, but the way he went about it is that anyone not as attractive as him might as well be a shambling mutant clawing at the gates of his perfection. or in other words, Bollock created a site for a certain segment of the population, and then decided to act like a massive bellend about it. indeed bollock's smug sense of bloated self worth and massive ego are the problems i have with him, his site and his whole strive for perfection, and calling the accidental admittance of probably average looking people to his site, the shrek virus and saying he's sorry for making people think they were truly beautiful only goes to show how massive a twat bollock really is and why he should be hit so hard with an ugly that his outside becomes a manifestation of the ugliness that pervades his soul.

The site is just so stupid. Not even talking about the ugly people thing. Good looking people DON'T NEED a dating site to find another person. I'm sure they get asked out like every other day. I know several girls who are just -moderately- attractive and they get asked out all the time when they are at work. And that's just at work.
^ THIS!!! Honestly though, WTF!?! I mean this is the kind of shit I'd expect from a cartoon show with the moral of the story being that everyone is beautiful in their own way, but in real life?!?!?!

Truth is stranger than fiction I suppose.....honestly the fact that such a cliche in fiction actually took place in reality just blows my mind 6 ways to Sunday.

What if I have lots of money? Chicks like money so having a ton of cash makes me more attractive right? Looks arent even the most important thing to chicks anyway so I dont get why they have that standard for guys. So what about hot chicks and guys with money or power or looks? And since when do hot people need help on dating sites rofl. See it would make sense if it was hot chicks so dudes could go try to get them with the various attributes women value in men.

I went to go look and see if the people were beautiful, the chicks weren't and the dudes looked like fags. You'd think a site for beautiful people would at least have a front page with the most attractive possible people, when they aren't anything special.
Sadly, it's been done, I don't remember the site name, but guys essentially send a girl on the site a message saying 'I'll pay $150 to go on a date with you' and the girls choose whether the guy and money is worth going on a date with. It's kinda like prostitution except there's less chance of actually getting any sex.

There's also an ugly dating site, tho I imagine the beautiful people aren't queueing to troll there. (I bet it's happened tho, the attention seeking fucknuggets.)

Lastly, to reference someone's point about other places needing beautiful people like gossip columns and porn, I'd suggest porn is one of the great equalisers, you can be a bald, fat, hairy, albino midget girl, and I just know there's a porn site just waiting to throw money at you for the privilege of watching you take on three guys at once.

EDIT: Nearly forgot, here's hoping Lulsec or Anon encourage all their members to sign up with a different randomly grabbed photo every day for a week or so :)

It's a private company they can do what they want, much like if a bouncer at nightclub refuses someone. Yes it it is overly shallow and subjective but meh they can do what they want.

So by who's standards is this site judging beauty? Because everything is beautiful to someone. I hate people like this...

My mirror also begs to differ on the "everyone is beautiful" thing as well.

True, everyone is probably beautiful to at least one person. But society as a whole has a certain "standard" and many people (such as me) do not fit that standard. I KNOW I'm not handsome. Years of experience has taught me that. I'm not ugly, but I'm certainly not handsome. Or tall. I have not had much luck with the ladies, and I accept that as a fact. Simply put, I do not appeal to the majority of women I want to date. The only women who wanted to date me are those who are in the exact same boat I'm in - i.e not very attractive, and willing to settle for less.

True enough, everyone has their own standard of beauty. Some people like different physical features than others. I know that the type of women I find beautiful are not the types everyone else would find beautiful (although most would).

I suppose if you want to get really technical, everyone is technically beautiful to at least one other person on the planet (even if it involves some sort of bizarre fetish). There are 7 billion of us after all.

But if we take that view then words like "beautiful" cease to have meaning. I knew a guy who genuinely thought industrialized landscapes belching smoke into the sky was "beautiful" (he was an engineer). I knew someone else who thought that scars were "beautiful" (he cut himself quite a bit). With nearly 7 Billion people on this planet, everything is beautiful to someone. I would not call that good grounds for calling everything or everyone beautiful.

I would say that no one is ugly. But I wouldn't say everyone is beautiful.

I suppose, when you think about it, at the end of the day.... everyone has their own standard. Everyone has their own idea of what is beautiful and ugly, and I cannot speak for everyone. I will say that there is no one, NO ONE on the planet who thinks everyone is sexual attractive to them. Everyone has their own standard of beauty, but everyone has their own standard of ugly as well. Only a liar could say that he or she was genuinely sexually attracted to everyone, or could really see that attractive quality in everyone.

I don't go around and call people ugly. I don't go around and call people beautiful either. I keep my opinion of a person's physical attractiveness to myself, because I realize that it doesn't really matter in the long run.

This is the internet people, the same place where there is forums specifically why racisum is good, why everyone should be my religion ect ect, i hate to say this but someone banning people on a site that they own over there perception of beauty is far the most *geh i cant find the right word for this so insert your own substitute here* thing here, especially if hes paying for the website.

but hey.... its still a dick move none the less to insinuate that all the people you banned ugly.

1. Human beauty is NOT subjective, in general. Just because some outliers have different tastes is NOT relevant. We can and do measure human beauty all the time--it's precisely why beautiful people have a wider choice of partners than others.

2. This site provides a valuable service to people who would rather not wade through a bunch of dogs or dorks to get what they're looking for--contact with someone of a similar physical strata.

3. It is unsurprising that an a site geared toward nerds, there would be a lot of outrage about this particular dating site, but all the geekhate in the world doesn't change the above two facts.

HEIL COMRADE! Jokes about Nazi Superiority beliefs aside...Yeah, guys like that ARE morons. Give them a mirror, and they'll spend SEVERAL hours just getting a single strand of hair right.

I became a member there just to see if I could.
I could. But I left afterwards, fucking hell.

I don't understand how people can just go after looks. Is that really all some care for? I cannot compute.

So it's at, what? -80 or something now?

OT: Greg Hodge can take a running jump into a septic tank with that kind of attitude. I bet he was that guy in high school who would have dated his own reflection when he wasn't working out in the gym.
-70, the gay kiss thing only got -30 :p
Hah, amateur. My faith in humanity is somewhere around -2.99792458x10^8 by now.

Yeah, that was a very douchey thing to say.

And you changed your avatar! :O

This is kind of funny in a really sick twisted children TV show sort of way.

I have the feeling that I'm gonna be the only one here with that opinion.

I mean Christ people, this guy sounds like a classic comic book villain.

Something beautiful, something free?
Hey you, are you trying to be mean?
If you live with apes man, it's hard to be clean."

also, what a dick.
