Uprising - A Pokemon RP

Darrel casually led the group down south out of the town. Now that they were free of Sprout Tower, he opened up the Pokeballs to let Spike and Puck out. The two ran out in front of Darrel, already knowing where they were going. Darrel followed slowly behind. "Beautiful stuff, man." He thought out loud, staring up at the thousands of constellations and stars dotting the night sky. As they passed down into Route 32, he wondered "You think there's Pokemon out there in space?"

Alex looked back. "I don't know. They say the Clefairy family came from space and we know that Lunatone and Solrock came from space... but are there any more? Who could say? I shouldn't be the only one enjoying this, come on out!" He tossed his three pokeballs sending out Cecily, Rhodes, and Horus.

About the time Alex released his Pokemon, Darrel stopped. They were in a small clearing, just south of Violet City. "Here we are." He said. "Perfect spot for some training, if you ask me." He whistled, calling Spike over. Puck followed, assuming he was needed as well. The two lined up, staring down Alex's Pokemon. Spike made an angry snarl, while Puck was more relaxed, with a somewhat disturbing grin being made towards Cecily, eyebrow arch included.

"So, it'll be two on two." Darrel said. "Obviously, I'm using Spike and Puck. Who will you use?"

Alex smiled. "I think... Cecily and... Rhodes." He indicated to the Totodile and Zubat. Rhodes chittered and began flying in a disorianting pattern while Cecily gave the mankey, a toothy grin.
Alex took a step back and motioned for Darrel to do the same. "The match will begin in three! Two! One! Go!"
"Rhodes! Use supersonic of Puck! Cecily use Water gun on Spike!"
Cecily leaned back and rapidly swung her head down shooting a high-pressure blast of water at Spike. Rhodes flew in and started bombarding Puck with supersonic waves.

Darrel had barely had time to step back before the battle had begun, and Alex's Pokemon had taken the initiative. Spike barely had time to stretch his eyes open and shriek before the water engulfed him. Puck fared little better, the Supersonic waves catching him. His eyes began to spiral a bit, as he made a guffawing noise. Darrel ran in place a bit, a manic grin on his face. "Man, these are so much more fun in real life!" He then stopped and composed himself quickly. He pointed his finger at his Mankey and shouted "Hey, hey, hey, hey, SPIKE!" Spike turned to look at him, a bit confused and worried. "Don't let that Totodile push you around! You're Spike! The Champion of Champions! Use your Low Kick!"

Spike immediately went into a battle frenzy, making all sorts of loud grunts and snarls as he slid towards his opponent.

Darrel then pointed at his Ghastly, and began yelling in a crazed voice as he psyched himself up. "And you, Puck! He wants to use dirty tricks like that!? We'll show him how to fight dirty, use Hypnosis!!" Puck grinned wide, even though its eyes were bugging out, and unleashed a single wave from its eyes.

Alex shouted encouragement to his pokemon "Rhodes! You can do this! Use leech life on Spike! Cecily use water gun on Puck!"
Rhodes barely dodged the hypnosis and swooped down to chomp down on Spike's arm. Cecily like-wise turned her head to Puck and blasted the ghost with a watergun while it was trying to concentrate on Rhodes.

Zubat's Leech Life did little to affect Spike, the angry Pokemon starting to use Scratch before Darrel had even called on him to do it. The Water Gun from the Totodile splashed Puck, which subsequently snapped him out of his confusion. "All right Puck, use Hypnosis on that Totodile now!" Darrel called out. Puck complied, his attack aimed with precision brought about by sheer indignation.

After some time Matt had fallen asleep in one of the available chairs while waiting for some news on the Gligar, he was somewhat restless and was easily awoken by the Blissey assistant, who shook him awake.
"Whoah, wait, what?" He said quickly as he was suddenly woken up. The Blissey pointed to the counter where Nurse Joy was waiting for him, Matt walked up and looked to see where the pokemon was. "So nurse, how is it?" He asked, hoping for the best. She nodded and pulled him up from below the counter. "Yes, he seems to have made a full recovery" she said happily, the Gligar turned it's head and it's beady eyes darted around the room before locking onto Matt. It's tounge lolled out as it opened it's mouth, revealing rows of razor sharp teeth as it quickly jumped from Nurse Joy, to the Counter, and then leaped at Matt. Clinging onto him, and effectivley terrifying him as he tried to pull it off. "Aw, looks like you found a new friend" she said cheerfuly as she turned to go speak with more trainers already lining up for help.
Eventualy he managed to pry the thing off of him and held it at arms length away, it's claws hung limply at it's side as it looked at him, tounge still hanging out, with what could almost be called a smile.
"Hmm... you dont seem TOO bad" he said once he realized it didnt want to tear his throat out. "Feel like joining up?" He asked he placed him down on the counter and putting one of his pokeballs in front of it, it reached out and tapped the center with it's claws, zapping it into the pokeball as it wriggled three times, and then stood still.

Gah, having a social life in RL has really gotten in my way :/

-Prebattle-

"How the hell did you get in here?"

"I used to be a member of the order here. Anymore questions?"

He could see Darrel didn't like the attitude but his confidence was unnerving him and he resumed talking to Alex.

Dash could take down that Ghastly anyday... I wonder why his Pokemon is giving me the stink eye?

He stood aloof, watching the two talk when suddenly the Ghastly erupted from Darrel's Pokeball. He took a few steps back.

Oh hell, not a Ghastly.

The memories from those horrible days alone in the tower, trying to meditate while they hovered around... The laughing...

Eric sidestepped closer to Alex while they talked. "I should get out of here, I'm going to travel the world."

"Hey, don't go Lucky. We're about to have a battle. You'll want to watch this."

Eric nodded.

It'll be good to watch him fighting from outside of battle. Time to figure out how he thinks!

-Battle-

"Don't look at that Ghastly..." muttered Eric, just barely audible to Alex. "If you don't make eye contact, Hypnosis doesn't work as well..."

Stop laughing... STOP LAUGHING!

To distract himself from that grinning Ghastly in his memories, he pulled out a small bag of chips. Mmmm, salty...

Matt's pokedex beeped to life once his Gligar was officialy caught

Gligar

The FlyScorpion Pokémon. Gligar uses the cape-like wings on its back to fly from tree to tree quickly and quietly. It hunts by throwing itself on the face of it's pray and clamping on before injecting it's poison.

Matt couldnt help but feel a bit unnerved at hearing that information about his newly caught pokemon, as that seemed to be the first move it made to him. But he decided to try to deal with it best he could. He let it out of the Pokeball again, and was ready for what it'd do. As soon as it opened up the Gligar looked around the room blearily again before seeing Matt and throwing itself at him. He ducked and it went right over him, but insteadof spreading it's wings and gliding, it sprawled in the air before crashing to the ground.
"You... arent that smart are you?" He asked it, feeling a bit sorry for it as it walked back up to him. He rolled his eyes as it looked up at him with it's beady eyes "fine, I think I'll name you..." he closed his eyes in thought before something came to him "... Tenshi"
The little creatures eyes light up at this and hopped around a bit before quickly jumping up and grabbing hold of his sleeve, and swinging himself up before latching onto his back in one fluid motion. Matts skin crawled as he felt him grab on tight for support and press against his back but swallowed hard and shook his head to clear himself up.
Rojo was watching this all with a bored interest, and as it didnt really involve her she went back to sleep. He looked around and saw how Lily and Robert were talking to someone he never saw before, he decided to walk over and see what was going on, Rojo following behind lazily.

"Hello, my names Jason. I just got here from Azalea Town and was about to go and see what Pokemon were in this area, considering I just started my Pokemon Journey. After I took Lily out to dinner of course, do you want to come along?" Jason said, watching the newcomer approach with two other Pokemon. One was hanging from his shoulder but the other was walking behind him lazily.

Jason figured that the best thing to do in this situation was to release his Bagon so that he could play with the other Pokemon. Bagon was out of his ball with a flash of red light, appearing beside Jason with an excited expression on his face. It bounded around Jason happily, clearly overjoyed at being out of its Pokeball again.

"Mattie why did you do that me and Steve were winning. This is all your stupid Girlfriends fault." said Chell indignintly

 

[Zirat]

Tenshi peered over Matts shoulder, seeming to give off a deathglare to Jason and Lily as it tried to get a clear look at them, the light glinted off it's exposed fangs as it swiftly climbed down him and took a few shambling steps to the Bagon to see it as well.

"Well then, nice to meet you Jason. I'm Matt" he said simply, sidestepping where he was from, if he didnt mention it, he didnt have to think about it, any of it. "So your taking Lily out to dinner? Hope you dont mind if I tag along then. Dont worry, I pay for myself" he added, looking down at the Gligar and Bagon staring eachother down.
"Speaking of starting journeys, seems to be a small world as most of us here are doing the same thing as well" he said, indicating to Gerald
"There are some others around here, but they all seem to have-" he was cut off by Chells interuption.
"What are you going on about? Do you mean when I got us kicked out of the tower? I admit, that was my fault but it was worth it" Matt replied testily, Tenshi twisted around from facing the Bagon to staring down Chell. tilting his head to the side as his tounge hung out again before looking back at the tiny dragon

"Cecily switch combats! Use scratch on Spike! Rhodes use leech life on Puck!" The two pokemon instantly obeyed with the exactness of pokemon who had been training for years. Cecily bounded towards Spike and brought her claws down on his face trying to scratching his sensitive nose. She then immediatly followed up with a point blank water gun trying to keep him on the edge. Rhodes on the other hand dove down and chomped down at the gaseous pokemon, after he immediatly fluttered back and began using his wings to throw up some wind and tried to blow Puck away.

"I don't mind if you came to, the more the merrier of course." Jason said, "Now about this Pokemon journey, would you mind if I tagged along with you guys? I've been thinking about collecting gym badges, and what better way to travel then in a group? I wont be a nuisance, I promise."

Bagon stopped prancing around Jason's legs and took up a defiant stance. It tried to look as intimidating as possible, its eyes flashing as it glared at the Gligar. It didn't attack though, it wasn't about to do something without the command of his master.

I'm getting a little peeved that switching targets apparently makes my moves miss... and your moves can't.

Then make my moves miss, my good friend. Throw me for a loop. FYI I don't actually plan on winning this battle. I'm a proponent of creative uses of moves. Also in these battles a move like hypnosis is pretty much instant death.

But the problem is, you're writing the moves as hitting. In your last post, you said Cecily scratched Spike's nose, and that was the end of it. No chance to counter, the deed is just done. And the Zubat got in his Leech Life attack without me ever getting a chance about it. And the attacks I've written you've either stated were dodged or just seem to have been ignored. I'm hoping it's not intentional, but it still makes me a little angry.

Well if it's really that bad I suppose I'll stop... Wait... what other attacks... oh wait. Never mind. Sorry it really isn't intentional (But this is honestly how I'd battle.) Shall we continue, good sir? Also I'll edit my last post.
