Alex hadn't heard the question posed to him as he was too busy puzzling over the Mareep's sly grin. He decided that it was nothing and met up with the rest of them. "What did I miss?"
Jason leaned back in his chair, watching as everyone began showing their Pokemon off to the others. Bagon jumped up onto the table behind Jason and began sniffing around for food. Jason waited for the others to finish their conversations before he ordered food and then turned in for the night.
Chell looked at the sun in the sky and saw she had sometime before the fight. She took the opportunity to run to the Poke-mart and use the money she earned ate the tower to buy 4 pokeballs. With a total of six pokeballs, two occupied by Steve and Charles she set off back to where Alex and the others were.
"ALEX I missed you, but other then that not much other then a skank face named Lily totally insulting me and Steve. Oh and Matt assaulting an old guy, I was battling. " she said while giving Alex a big hug.

"I never said anything about you or your Pokemon," Lily hissed out. "And even if I did, so what? That hardly justifies an assault." She rubbed her leg, remembering the pain. "Now, were not enemies. Rivals after the same goal, maybe, but not enemies. So I'd really appreciate it if you stop calling me names..." her cold glare fixated on Chell. "Before I make you show me some respect."
She turned to Matt. "Please keep her Polemon away from me. I don't want a repeat incident of last time."
Jason looked seven different kinds of confused. She quickly explained, "Chell and I had a little skirmish before. I looked at her Pokemon the wrong way, so she set it on me. It bit my leg, hard. Matt's Pokemon an my Eevee worked together to hold it off. Apparently..." she turned back to Chell, "she isn't over it."
She turned to Matt. "Please keep her Polemon away from me. I don't want a repeat incident of last time."

Jason nodded, but he didn't feel like getting involved in something he knew so little about. Instead, Jason pulled out his Bagon's Pokeball and made the Pokemon return to its ball. Jason yawned and stood up before turning to the others and announcing that he would be turning in to get some sleep for the Gym Challenge later.
"Well if you want to talk about it later I'll be somewhere in the Pokemon center and I'll listen to whatever you want to talk about." Jason said to her before walking away from the table with everyone gathered around it.
He already felt like an outsider, considering that everyone already knew each other and he was still trying to figure out everyone's names. Jason took the long way back to the Pokemon center, using that extra time to think about what lay ahead for him and Bagon. There was really no turning back now.
Jason really hated leaving, but if he had stayed he knew he would have said something he regretted later on. The best thing he decided that he could do was just to leave and not say anything about it. Jason sighed to himself and sat down on a large rock that overlooked the lake. He began chucking stones out over the lake and watched as they splashed across the smooth surface of the lake to cause ripples on the perfect water.
"Well if you want to talk about it later I'll be somewhere in the Pokemon center and I'll listen to whatever you want to talk about." Jason said to her before walking away from the table with everyone gathered around it.

Darrel wondered to himself why Jason left so early. He didn't think too much of it, but reminded himself to talk to him about it later. In the meantime, he decided to break up the cat-fight, delicious though it was, to ask a serious question.
"Okay, so how are we doing this gym battle tomorrow?" Darrel asked. "I heard somebody mention that we would be working in pairs or something like that to fight. In that case, who is teaming up with who? We need to combine our Pokemon effectively if we're gonna stand a chance against Falkner and his birds, right? So come on, let's see what you guys've got. Me, I've got Spike here and Puck, my Gastly."

Alex gave Chell a big hug back as he listened tiredly to the story. He sighed. "Now that I have heard both throughly exhausting sides of the tales from the both of you, back off of each other. Fighting each other won't get us where we need to go." He gave Chell a side-long glance that pretty much said Please stop... Alex gestured to the three pokemon before him. "These are mine. Feel free to look but I'd suggest not touching Horus. He seems to have built up a particularly bad case of Static..."
Matt nodded "yeah, dont worry Lily, I'm sure we can make it through this last day without much of an issue before you head off to Ecruteak like you wanted" he said as he looked at some of the others displaying their own pokemon. One that caught his attention was Puck. Huh... nice Ghastly. I dont think I've never even seen a picture of one that color he thought as he looked at the bobbing ghost.
"So, atleast five trainers going in to fight atleast one Gym-Leader. Well, I guess it would go without saying that Falkner certainly wont see this coming" he said with a bit of false humor.

"Jason..." Lily's eyes softened as the boy departed. Had she gone too far and scared him off with what she said to Chell? She had expected Jason to give her some support, since he knew Lily, but not Chell. Fortunately, Alex was trying to diffuse the situation, while Matt seemed to be backing her up a bit. Lily allowed herself to calm down, the fire in her eyes smoldered out, and her fists relaxed back into hands. She backed off a step.
Now she could only hope that Chell will do the same.
She turned to Matt. "No, wait, Matt, there're six of us... Not counting you," she quickly amended. "Alex and Chell, Gerald, Jason... This Derek guy," she said, motioning vaguely to Darrel, "and me. Now she could only hope that Chell will do the same.

"But... There's no strategy in that!" Lily exclaimed. "What if one team is weak to flying type Pokemon, but another will demolish it? There must be a better way... Gerald, what's strong and weak against the flying type?"
The others all gave her a curious look, inquiring how she could not know such a thing.
Lily lowered her head. "Well when it comes down to it, I don't know much about Pokemon. In fact I hardly know anything. I know, its weird... But I'm still determined to be the Champion of Johto! Pokemon were never really a part of my life... So I never really learned about them!"

Matt smiled a bit and thought for a moment before speaking on the subject. "Well, I do know about this whole typing thing. Back at home it was all I heard for a long time so I guess I can help out with that subject" he said as he stood up, he was simply getting tired of sitting for now.
"But as for teams, at this early stage I dont think it would really matter and comes down to personal prefrence. The only advantage any of us could have against Falkners birds would be the Mareep, but I'm not sure it actualy knows any electric type moves" he said as he eyed the dull sheet pokemon for a second. "But as for weaknesses" he said, now looking at Gereld and then Darrel "seems you two are out of luck with two of your pokemon, a Bug and what I think is fighting type will be having a hard time, so your Mankey and Ledyba may want to sit this one out"

Gereld shrugged." I still got Cindy and she should do fine" Bubba, meanwhile, Flared up again, Making several angry protests at Matt's comment. Glancing at him, Gereld thought Geez, he really doesn't want to hear he's not good enough for this battle, does he?
Alex yawned "Well... I don't feel much like battling. I can lend someone my pokemon." Rhodes flitted about as Cecily began grinning.

"What?" Darrel asked in response to Alex. "Are you saying that hot-blooded masculinity won't be enough to win us the day?" He flashed a grin as if to make his own self-admittedly ludicrous idea more credible.
"I've got a strategy to beat Falkner, but it's all going to come down to who I'm partnered with. My only real Pokemon I can use to full effect is Puck in this battle, so I need to know who I can team him up with."
