Uprising - A Pokemon RP

"Wait, Alex... You don't? That means... One of us will have to battle alone!"

Lily smiled inwardly. 'Perfect. Now I can have that one on one battle. And I know Eevee is ready.' She maintained her composure, and went to answer Alex's question.

"Well, I've already fought Falkner once, and he likes to blind his opponents, then hit them fast and hard. We'll need to pick teams that are sure to hit, or that can dodge those Sand-Attacks. Now I know my Eevee is quick, but..." she stopped, realizing what she had just said.

She didn't want the others to know about her embarrassing defeat, but one slip of the tongue had ruined her secrecy. She bit her lip, angry at herself.

Darrel's eyebrows shot up a bit as he heard Lily prattle on about what he assumed was her loss to Falkner.
"Wow. That's two secrets she's shared with us tonight."
But not wishing to draw too much attention to her embarrassment, he moved back to his original topic.
"So, I've got a Ghost type. He's immune to any normal moves, like Sand-Attack, so he'll be able to get in a good Hypnosis and a Lick or two, right? Who feels like teaming up with a powerhouse like that?"

Feeling a twinge of anger toward Darrel's stating of the obvious, Lily cringed. She didn't want her mistake noticed any more than it already was. However, she couldn't let it affect her too much. Besides, she had just noticed an error in Darrel's facts.

"No, Sand-Attack... It is a utilization of dirt... Even when there's none there, like in the gym for instance! Therefore, it must be a Ground type move!" she smiled with delight at her realization.

Alex nodded. "Well, I'm going to go buy some more pokeballs. I'll be back in... I dunno..." Horus followed behind him as he picked up Cecily and Rhodes landed on his back and he headed towards the pokemart. He entered the shop and was received by a chorus of welcomes "Thank you. Do you know where the pokeballs are?" The shopkeep pointed to the back. He headed there and picked out two bright red pokeballs and snagged some black paint. "I'd like to purchase these, please."
"That'll be 51 pokedollars."
"Here you go." He handed the money and clipped the pokeballs onto his belt.

Darrel shrugged, that goofy grin still on his face, as Lily was correct. "Yeah, Sand-Attack is Ground, now that I think about. Still, doesn't matter. Ground type moves don't affect Puck either."
Puck, having strategically placed himself next to Lily, took that moment to unleash his loudest, most obnoxiously over the top bout of laughter yet, as he rolled in the air in self-amusement.

Lily shrieked and fell yet again, this time thinking to cross her legs and hold her skirt down. She managed to catch herself, and avoided smacking her head again. "Could you please control that thing? It just WANTS to get on my nerves..." she said as she rose to her feet. "And it's immune to Ground, and Normal type moves? What CAN hit it?"

She then took a good look at the Pokemon, and realized it was floating around. 'Of course it can't be hit by Ground type moves... It Levitates!' The ghost again laughed in her face.

"Well, yeah! It's a Gastly!" Darrel said in a sort of giddy voice, laughing and pushing Puck away as it rushed over to try and Lick him.
"They're big on playing pranks whenever they can; this one more than others."
After finally getting Puck under control, Darrel called him back into his Pokeball and took a deep breath, getting serious for a moment.
"I studied Pokemon for a while before I went out on my own; Gastly are great starters because they're immune to Normal, Ground, and... I forget the other type, but there's a third as well. Anyway, it's just a really well-rounded Pokemon for support, since it comes with Hypnosis and Lick at a low level."
He stretched out a bit, his leg accidentally brushing against Lily's. He immediately withdrew it, and attempting to draw away focus said "That's why I asked who wanted to team up with it. It's perfect for this match."

Alex returned after the brief stroll, seeing Puck startle Lily. "Geez you guys. Can't I leave without something bad or weird happening?" He raised one of his eyebrows as if to say something else but he stopped himself. His eyes darted from Darrel to Lily and back. A mischievous grin broke out on his face. "Oh! Sorry for intruding."

Matt looked up to Alex "well then, you seem awfully cheery over something" he said, yawning slightly as he said it. "And anyways, Lily, you fought Falkner before then, right? Hopefuly this round turns out better for you. From what I've seen today, I'm sure you can handle whatever he throws out at you" he said to her, and then he took a few steps toward the door.
"If anyone else needs me, I'm bumming it at the Pokemon center tonight, the nurses are usualy okay with trainers sleeping in the lobby" he said as he yawned and continued on his way out the door, holding it open long enough for his two pokemon to rush out after him.

Alex's grin seemed to lessen a little bit. "Oh... it's nothing." He winked at Darrel. "I'll be heading there too. Night you two... "
He trotted away and grinned to himself. He then slipped on his glasses and stretched. "Well you guys... time to turn in for the night..."

"Night." Said Gereld to the others, Following Matt to the Pokemon center, Cindy and Bubba in tow.

I'm not going to be here for the weekend, so if we don't get to gym battle till Saterday or Sunday, just push Gereld along as nessacary.

Lily shot a glare at Darrel. "I don't think so, big guy," she immediately said to him. She then returned her interest to his Ghastly. It had everything a Pokemon needed, a good moveset, few weaknesses...

'I need a sixth slot Pokemon... That sounds like a good one! After I beat you, Falkner... I'll buy the Pokeballs I need to catch all these Pokemon! And then...' she grinned madly at the thought, 'it's easy street to the Champion's seat! And all the money we could ever need, Mom...'

Lily then made her way out as well. Bidding farewell to the others, she traveled a bit outside of Violet City. She opened her Pokeball and let out Eevee. "Go fetch some sticks, boy!" she commanded, as she went off to get some of her own.

A few minutes later, they had a sizable pile of sticks. Luckily, spending a year in the wilderness had done wonders for her firebuilding abilities. Lighting it up, she recalled her Eevee, and layed herself down next to the fire. She smiled, thinking about Matt's compliment to her battling abilities. Lily drifted off into sleep.

As Lily rolled over, she accidentally opened Eevee's Pokeball. He stood watch over her body for a good ten minutes, then he curled up next to her head and fell asleep as well.

"Oh shut up Lily! I epically dislike her?"said Chell, she promised she wouldn't be aggressively mean, but she never said that she would be nice.
Steve popped out, "MUNCH!!" he said holding his fist out
Chell fist bumped the little guy , "Yeah I'm ready Steve, we are so gonna kick some Boney Bird butt."
"Munch Lax Munch Munch!?" said Steve
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
laughed Chell at the Munchlax's crude Joke, "Man so true that could describe that particular trainer you mentioned, Steve"

Darrel looked around, noticing that besides he and Chell, the restaurant was almost entirely empty. "Wow. Guess that's my cue to leave." He stood up, Spike clinging to his shoulder as he left. He threw up a hand in a vague waving gesture and said goodbye to Chell, before shooting back to the Pokemon Center. He made his way inside and up to a spare room. He found himself a bed and immediately fell asleep on it, accidentally releasing Puck as he fell. While he rested, his Gastly decided to have some fun in the Center, and went off to scare some trainers already giggling to itself in glee.

Alex didn't fall asleep. He opened his Pokegear and dailed home. His finger hovered over send for a second but he decided against it. She'll see soon enough that I'm no slouch. I'll conquer battle tower and the rest with my trusty team... I swear it. Regardless of flaws... He noticed Nurse Joy moving around waking up the other trainers as the bright beams of the sun lent themselves through the window shades. He nudged Cecily and Rhodes with his feet and looked around for Horus. The yellow sheep had curled up behind his head without his noticing and had acted like a pillow for him. "I was wondering what all that static was..."

Nurse Joy began making her rounds in the Lobby, waking up the sleeping pokemon trainers. "Please get up, sir." She said to one of the trainers. She was pleased to find most of the trainers were fairly light sleepers.

Matt was woken woken up from a restless sleep along by the Nurse, who after confirming he was awake moved on to get another trainer up and going. He grumbled a thanks as he got up out of bed, he glanced over and saw how his two pokemon seemed to be curled up together nearby and nudged them up as he walked into the main lobby of the Pokemon Center to wait for the others to show up.
In there, he could hear a radio chattering away with the morning news.
... it seems now that none other than Team Rocket is suspected to be the perpatrators behind the shocking attack on New Bark Town the other day, and while the police have yet to confirm the return of this threat, it seems to be the only possible answer, and the only one most people are thinking of. The female voice said, sounding somber for a moment before switching over to a more cheery one.
But thats all the news And time we have for this morning Johto! so for now this is Whitney from Goldenrod signing off.

Grumbling to himself as he was woken up by the Nurse, Gereld extracted Bubba off his head and shook him awake, then nudged Cindy, who had fallen asleep on his lap, untill she was awake as well. Returning both of them to their Pokeballs, Gereld walked into the lobby, Joining Matt in waiting for the others, Giving him a falsly cherry "Morning Matt, Sleep well?". In reality, Gereld was nervous for what was both his first gym battle and his first Pokemon battle in general.

Jason found his way back to the Pokemon Center later in the night, after walking along the lakeside for what seemed like an hour or two. Now he was awakened by his Bagon jumping eagerly up and down on his chest in anticipation of the day's events. Jason pushed his Bagon off of him, angered at first that it had woken him up, but then realizing that Bagon had done him a favor.

With the time left before the gym challenge, Jason could go get a quick breakfast and stock up on Pokeballs and such for after the Gym Challenge. Bagon jumped off the bed, and ran over to the window, throwing the shades aside so bright rays of sunlight leaked into the room.

After a hasty shower and a quick rundown of the room to make sure he had everything he had brought with him. After he had his backpack on his shoulder and everything was neat and orderly like it had been when he got the room, Jason left the room and went down to the main lobby. There, he saw two of the people from last night; Matt and Gereld.

"I see you two are awake... were is everyone else?" Jason asked, taking a seat on a rather comfy chair that sat opposite the two.

Bagon jumped up on the arm of the chair and gazed at the other two trainers. Jason was nervous about his upcoming gym challenge. Not only was it his first gym challenge, but it was also his first Pokemon battle as a trainer.

When Matt had come into the room Darrel was already waiting. He hadn't been able to sleep long before Nurse Joy had awoken him to chase down his Gastly who was in the middle of terrorizing a group of people. He came onto the scene quickly and recalled him to his Pokeball. Darrel then decided that it was best to get his Pokemon prepared for the battle, and released them only to see a news report come on about New Bark Town. Unable to look away, he waited to see what news came of it.

Huh He thought. Guess I'll need to call Dad about this later; he'll want to know that I've got some answers.

When Matt changed the channel he awoke from his trance of sorts.

He watched as they greeted each other, and stood up right as Jason asked where they all were. "Me, I'm right here." He said, yawning a bit as the motion was mimicked by Spike and Puck. Rubbing his eyes, he said "The others are all still sleeping I think. I'm sure the gym will be busy today, so do you think we should wait for them or get moving?"

"Well... I mean, if the gym is busy then I guess we should get going now and let the others catch up... but its up to you since you've been with everyone longer." Jason said, standing up and motioning for Bagon to follow.

"Although I am kind of nervous... this will be my first Pokemon battle." Jason said, looking at the others in the hopes of getting advice from some of them.
