Alex stretched and got up slowly. He slowly cleaned off his glasses with his shirt and then put them on. "Hey everyone. Good morning. Jason how do you feel? Hopefully well. Good morning, Chell darling, good morning Sid. Good morning everyone!" He yawned loudly. "So Rhodes hasn't come back?" He closed his eyes and made a high-pitched whistling noise which sounded frighteningly similar to a kettle boiling over a minute after he made the whistle noise a quiet chittering as Rhodes flew back and landed on his head, Rhodes began chittering happily at everyone. Alex looked up "So, Rhodes, you find a way out?" The blue bat nodded and continued to make the chittering noise.

Jason woke up to find that most of the others were already awake. He looked over to find that Lily was still asleep, Jason had almost fallen asleep with his head on her shoulder. He straightened up to find Bagon still asleep at his side, Jason woke him up by shaking him awake gently. Bagon woke up and yawned, stretching to get full function of his body again, before turning to look into the darkness.

"I think we should find a new friend Bagon... hopefully a Zubat or something, that would be really cool." Jason said, feeling much better then yesterday.

"Mornin' Alex" said Chell rising from the ground and giving him a peck on the cheek,closing her eyesin the process. Right as Rhodes lands on top Alex's head, Chell opened her eyes, "Sweet Banana Hammock!" she shouted a Rhodes filled her vision.

Alex smiled "Don't worry, Chell. Its just Rhodes. He found us a way out, right?" Rhodes chittered and started gnawing on Alex's head.
Alex looked up to the blue bat. "Yo. Rhodes cut it out. That's beginning to hurt." The bat chittered sadly and stopped.

"Sweet banana hammock!"

The sheer oddity and volume of Chell's shout awoke Darrel with a start, who had been sleeping about 4 feet away from the pair, with his head precariously close to an outcropping of solid rock. He shot up mumbling about danger, only for his forehead to smash into the rock with a resounding thud that no one in the cave could have missed. As he rolled around on the ground shouting in pain, Spike awoke to the sounds of his trainer's distress, and began to hop around and hoot frantically as he tried to calm him down. Puck, on the other hand, was amused to no end by the entire ordeal, and accidentally rolled into and through the cave wall, his laughter echoing off into the distance.

Lily stirred along with the others, rubbing her eyes as they readjusted to the darkness in the cave. Jason was still next to her, and his face had regained its color, making Lily smile. He was going to be ok. She had done something right.

She hopped to her feet and walked over to Sid, who was beginning to get up. "You sleep ok, Sid? We're gonna be in for a bit of a hike today. This cave is the only way to Azalea Town, and that's our next stop. I need to get the badge there while were in town, too, so who knows, you might have some time to grab another Pokemon! If you're hungry, just tell me, I've still got some bars to eat. And Sid..." she pulled him in close and whispered, "we're on this journey alone. These guys aren't gonna be with us, before long, so don't make friends. They'll just slow us down." She released him and nodded, hardly aware of how hypocritical she sounded after the way she had acted the night before.

"Uh, okay..." Sid stood up, still rubbing his eyes. He tried to see further into the cave but was only met with a wall of black. It didn't help that Pooch was dark either so he wouldn't be able to tell if he was standing close to him or not. He looked back at Lily and she just smiled but he couldn't return it, instead he looked away. He still didn't understand why she would come and help some random street rat, she didn't know him and if he were to disappear no body would miss him... in fact, he was positive the staff at the Pokemon Center were glad he wasn't around to stink up the place.

"Lily, I... never mind." He mumbled and walked towards Pooch and croutched down next to him.

"At least I know that you like me buddy.

Darrel finally got to his feet, carefully inspecting the large bruise on his forehead. After reassuring himself that it was not bleeding, he stood up and looked at what everyone else was doing. They all seemed to be preparing for the journey through the cave. Except for one; a younger boy was off in the corner with his Pokemon. Darrel recognized the boy as Sid, the one that Lily had brought along with her. "Seems kinda lonely over there, doesn't he." Darrel said under his breath to Spike, who nodded in agreement. On a whim, he approached him.

"Hey, you're the kid I lent that Pokeball to the other day, aren't you? Did it come in handy?"

"I might just stick around, you guys seem pretty cool." said Eric, smiling at Matt.

And tough... Its better to train in a group than by yourself after all.

He wandered to a far corner of the cave.

"Quite a large place, isn't it?"

Sid jumped up, startled by the sudden voice behind him. He turned around with his fist drawn back only to see the guy Lily was yelling at yesterday. Sid wasn't sure what his motives were, but Darrel was probably using him to get close to Lily.

"Oh wait..." Sid said and began to feel around in, what was at some point, his pockets and pulled out the same pokeball, "Sorry but Lily gave me a pokeball earlier, I forgot to give this back to you."

"Nah, you keep it." Darrel said. "I've got plenty of 'em, but you might need it later." He sat down a few feet away from Sid, but his eyes were fixed on the others in the group. "Man, one weird team we've got here. How'd you get mixed up in all this anyway, Sid? It was Sid, right?"

"Yeah, the Nurse Joy in Violet City called me that. I'm not sure if that is my real name or not." Sid sighed. He remembered when he first arived in Violet City, he was cold, hungry, and it was raining. He ran thriugh the streets screaming for his parents but he couldn't find them.

"Lily brought me with her, I have no reason for traveling othe than I owe her."

"Oh." Darrel said. "No parents, huh. I didn't know my mother either; my dad raised me alone. But to be all by yourself your whole life... I don't know if I could do that. But that's heavy stuff to be talking about now; what'd Lily do that makes you owe her anyway? I'm a little bit surprised she'd do something for someone else in the first place, man."

"She said I reminded her of herself and she helped my finally take control of my life." Sid said and sat next to Pooch, "Without Lily, I'd be just another street rat for the rest of my life and for that I owe her."

Eric wandered around further into the cave, Dash providing some extra light in the dim cavern. Suddenly a rock exploded into action.

"That must be a Geodude, come back here Dash!"

Dash ran behind him as he threw out Jason.

"Watergun, quick!"

Jason stood up, stretching to regain use of all his limbs including his injured arm. He walked deeper into the cave, letting the others talk as he tried seeing deeper into the cave. Bagon followed behind him, scratching at some of the rocks and looking around to see if anything was there.

"Lets see if we can catch something soon buddy... we know we'll need something if we're to compete with these guys... they all have at least two Pokemon." Jason said in an undertone to Bagon, making sure that nobody else could hear him.

Jason and Bagon proceeded deeper into the cave, ignoring the others while Jason and Bagon sought out a Zubat.

Alex looked casually over to people. Rhodes chittered as he flitted around looking for something interesting. Cecily cautiously sampled some of water and Horus bleated at Lily while pawing at her. "Maaaaaahhhhhh! Reeeeeep!" Alex sighed "Horus. Stop bothering people." The rockheaded sheep bounced over to Alex as he called it. "Maaaaaahhhh!" Alex knelt down and rubbed Horus's head. "No static. And very fluffy! You're so cute!!!"

"So are we just going to sit around to let the Rockets come and find us?" Sid shouted, being in the cave his voice boomed, "Pooch and I aren't."

Sid walked deeper into the cave and turned around to face the Motley Crew and Pooch ran up to his side, "Feel free to join us."

" Relax Sid, everyone's still got to get ready. Besides, If the Rockets were going to come and get us, they'd have done it while we were asleep." Said Gereld, picking up the last of his stuff, ready to go.

Jason finished up the Geodude with a quick Bubble.

"Good work bud, the more accurate we get that Hypnosis of yours, the better!"

Jason snorted but still seemed happy about its performance. Eric called him back and gestured to Dash.

"We'd better go back and see if everyones ready to explore this place."

Dash yipped happily but Eric shook his head.

"Not so loud buddy, don't want to hurt people's head's with your echos."

They headed back and saw Gerald picking up something and placing it in his bag.

"Hey Gerald, good morning. Get a good sleep?"
