"Hmm... your Scyther? Interesting, I don't know what moves he has so I'll just have to hope for the best with Sandshrew." Jason said smiling and releasing the small rodent pokemon, which rolled out of its Pokeball and jumped up into a fighting position.

"I'll have first move if you don't mind cousin, Sandshrew, use defense curl." Jason said, waiting to see how Bugsy would react to that.

 

[Vesuvius Hetlan]

Bugsy smiled. "No problem, cousin. Scy. Let's start out with Fury Cutter." The Scyther nodded with Military pricision and lunged at the curled up sandshrew holding one of its bladed hands high.

"Now Sandshrew, come out of you defense curl and use Sand Attack." Jason smiled, Sandshrew following his orders perfectly, coming out of its ball with a fist full of dirt/sand that it threw directly into the Scythers path. Sandshrew then tensed itself for the attack, ready to roll out of the way if Scyther dodged his attack.

I wonder if Sand Attack will even cause anything to happen to Scyther...

 

[Vesuvius Hetlan]

The sand hit scyther in the eye, causing it to recoil a tiny bit. But this tiny bit caused the trajectory of theFury cutter attack to be just off and have it merely scratch the sandshrew's skin. "Scy! Quick Attack." The Scyther made a sudden kicking motion which hit the Sandshrew in the stomach sending it rolling back.

Alex grinned and he and Cecily watched as their friends moved about. Horus had taken to electricuting a rock that had earned his anger, Nina was clawing in to the ground trying to dig a hole in the ground. Rhodes landed on his shoulder and chittered excitedly.

Sandshrew came to a stop a few feet back, and it seemed rather dizzy, but it was determined to bring down the Scyther. It jumped back up and charged towards the Scyther, aiming to get a scratch attack in while the Scyther's eyes were coated in dirt and sand.

 

[Vesuvius Hetlan]

The sandshrew landed a sound scratch onto Scyther's chest sending it backing up and making a ferocious slash that stopped less than an inch away from the Sandshrew's nose. Its eyes now cleared but bloodshot. "Scyther! Quick attack!" It launched itself at the sandshrew at point blank range.

"Sandshrew, quick, use your defense curl." Jason said smoothly, watching as Sandshrew curled up into a ball just as Scyther launched itself at him. Samdshrew was launched backwards across the ground, rolling across the ground and taking a decent about of damage from Scyther's attack. He came to a halt but he didn't uncurl just yet.

 

[Vesuvius Hetlan]

Bugsy smiled "Keep it up, Scy! Hit it with another quick attack!" It lunged once more at the Sandshrew, hoping to end it.

Jason smiled, "Sandshrew, use another Sand Attack and a scratch."

Sandshrew jumped out of its curled form and threw more sand directly in Scyther's path. It then jumped up from the ground, its claws aimed to scratch again at Scyther, he held back a little bit so he wouldn't be in the way of the sand reaching its target, but he didn't wait too long or he might not be able to reach Scyther.

 

[Vesuvius Hetlan]

Sandshrew's sand attack had an unintentional affect. The little grains of sand got under its feet and caused the green mantis to slip and crash straight into the ground, only to have the sandshrew pounce on it. Knocking it out.

"Scyther is unable to battle. Jason wins!"

Sandshrew jumped off the Scyther's body, and over to Jason who patted the rodent on the head. The rodent smiled and began doing laps around Jason until he was returned back into his Pokeball. Jason then straightened up and looked over to his cousin.

"That was a fun battle cousin, I'm glad I won though." Jason said with a grin.

 

[Vesuvius Hetlan]

Bugsy smiled "Me too. I'm glad to see that you've finally matured into a fine trainer. Please tell the next person that they are up." Bugsy shook Jason's hand "Cousin to cousin. Great match. I'm so proud of you."

 

[Malo_Tux]

Sid tapped his foot inpatiently and crossed his arms. These gym battles were taking forever, if there were six more he'd need to find something to do while they fought. He grumbled and plopped down on the floor.

"How much longer til we can leave?" He whined.

Bugsy poked his head out of the gym. "Could the next trainer please, step forward."

Jason walked out of the gym, smiling and looking back to see Bugsy ushering in the next Trainer. Jason smiled, and headed over to the Pokemon Center to heal his Sandshrew who had won him his second badge. He would have used Bagon, but he needed to train his other Pokemon as well, and Weedle wouldn't have done anything against a fellow bug Pokemon.

Sid squirmed on the ground and waved his arms in the air. It was so boring waiting outside for people to finish fighting. He closed his eyes and squirmed even faster. He bumped his hip into a rock and both Pooch and Alexander left their pokeballs. He rolled over and stood on all fours. Pooch did the same and Alexander watched in confusion. Sid lost his concentration when Jason walked by.

"Hi Ja-" Sid tried to wave but Pooch tackled him. He was put on his back and Pooch sat on his chest and Alexander did the exact same.

"Hey Sid, having some trouble with your Pokemon I see. Need some help?" Jason laughed, walking over to were Sid was laying with his two Pokemon sitting on top of his chest. He tried to help the kid to his feet, while still making it seem like he wasn't gonna hurt the Pokemon's master.

"So I didn't see you go in and get a badge, why is that?"

"I really don't want to. They're not my thing." Sid smiled, "We just wanna travel around. If I'm lucky, Pooch and I will be able to battle Red."

Sid sneezed and began squatting. He watched as his two Pokemon chased each other and played in the dirt. Sid smiled knowing his pokemon were having fun.

With bitter feelings still stirring inside of her towards Sid's tormentors, Lily pressed her way to the Azalea Gym. A lump formed in her throat out of nervousness... She was sincerely hoping that she could beat this gym on the first try as opposed to her humiliation with Falkner.

As the Gym drew nearer to her, Lily saw you Sid striking up a conversation with, of all people, Jason! Strangely, she didn't feel compelled to scold her companion at all, as she would if he was talking to someone else. She hurridley wondered if she was growing to close to Jason... And Matt too, for that matter. Not wanted to lose account of Sid for too long again, she approached them and said flatly, "I'm going to get my badge now, come along Sid!"

She immediately pivoted and strolled cooly towards the gym, trusting Sid would follow.

At the Pokemon center Dash came to. How did that 8 legged freak do that? He was ashamed, he let Eric down. When the nurse brought him to Eric, he didn't look up at him.

"Don't worry buddy, we were a little overconfident. Let's go train and take him down!"

Dash looked up and saw Eric grinning.

"It was my fault. I should have known that an Ariados could learn that move. We'll be ready this time."

Dash hopped down and walked beside his master, determined to redeem himself.
