No, just no, not only would I have to give up meat, but I would have to stop using all products that animals died for and you'd be surprised how many of those there are.

I'm very picky with my meat. I only eat halal or kosher, for instance. And I won't eat it if I know the animal went through unnecessary suffering. I wouldn't be a vegan, because I don't believe there's anything wrong with eating meat as long as every part of the animal is used, to honor its sacrifice. However, I am staunchly against killing animals for their fur, tusks, etc.

My room mate last year was a strict vegetarian, and he dated a vegan girl. They both thought I was disgusting because I ate a kielbasa sausage when I went with them to dinner. Furthermore, she refused to wear leather, and dislike that I wore a leather jacket.

I don't have anything against them for their lifestyle choice, but I personally could never even delve into the vegetarian or vegan lifestyle. I like meat too much to willingly be a vegetarian, but I could handle it better than being a vegan under doctor's orders. Veganism, with its lack of anything in the way of eggs, butter, or dairy alongside meat would just not make life possible for me. Worse yet, there are vegans who are also on gluten-free diets by choice.

What are your thoughts? Would you ever do it?

Or are you a vegan? Share your experiences on what made you make that choice.
No, I would never "want make that choice."

God, I hate being an Escapist. But I can live on a mostly vegetarian diet because I've dated enough hardcore vegetarians.

I DO like most kinds of meat.
But still, sometimes i think about animals when i eat meat and feel a bit sad.
Also, my mother sometimes makes jokes about the meat I'm eating , saying that she feels sorry for that poor little chicken, just 5 days ago she was living and doing what chickens do.Then comes the butchering, and voila- jummy!

Tough my mother is not a vegetarian, and also eats meat.

NO. Because it would harm my body and makes absolutely no sense. Meat and milk are essential for humans.
What sounds right about drinking the milk another animal is mean to give it's young?
Scientifically it's unnatural to drink any form of milk after a certain age, as it can cause obesity, headaches and bad skin.

I'm Vegan I wear leather (Preferably second hand only, waste not want not, besides, leather's renewable and practical and I don't trust that all plastics are going to be biodegradable) and have no problem with meat eaters as long as they're not the type that go "I COULD NEVER DO THAT I LUV MEAT" as soon as they find out my dietary choice, my real issue is with farming and ownership over animals, sure our ancestors ate meat, but they were called hunter gatherers for a reason.
Also I should state that I abhor PETA and the ALF.

Just like with religion they can keep their(to me)misguided messages and preaching to themselves. As long as it doesn't impede on me enjoying meat, nor am I taunted or ridiculed in any way then they can pray or eat tofu all they like I won't stop them. Should they ever cross that line though, God help them lol..........I'm serious, can't stand people like that.

Properly cooked, tofu is extremely delicious. And just to piss off the vegans, I add in strips of sirloin steak to my tofu stir-fry.
Would I ever go vegan? Hell no.

I'm already vegetarian, and I might make the switch at some point.

Not while I'm living in Russia, though. It's tough enough to get food I can eat as it is...

Personally I think vegan-ism is actually bad for you, as you miss out on a lot of healthy things. PLUS I don't understand why anybody could NOT like meat, it is the founder of all delicious foods.

No, I would not. I was a vegitarian until I was 14 and I have to say that I simply couldn't live without meat now.

Anyway, it's just plain stupid most of the time. We're Omnivores. We eat meat. It's just what we do.

I can go vegetarian if I wanted to, but I choose to eat meat. Meat is tasty, meat is sustenance, meat is pronounced "ma" in Mongolian. I loves me some meat and I choose to continue eating it! Go Meat Go!
