Limiting myself to experience, how about how some old school games you might not have played on consoles, like the original Doom games and the original Half-Life and their expansions?

Do you hate RTS because you've been mostly a console gamer? If so, try Command and Conquer and Starcraft.

Another solid FPS is Counter Strike.

The Orange Box.I know everyone is saying that and its on consoles as well but the pc version is the definitive way to experience it so im just helping to reinforce that, get it!

There are a ton of other good suggestion on here already If i had to recommend an rpg i would say Diablo 2 i just played for the first time last year and i was obsessed its a great action rpg every role playing aspect is polished to perfection which is why to many it set a standard for the genre and the way the soundtrack compliments it really pulls you into the action its an older game but still as entertaining as any modern one.

Anyway I'm excited for you man I built my first gaming pc last year and i love it more than oxygen.

PC Gamer eh?

First thing you need to get is Steam!

After that, check out Deus Ex. Named by many to be the best game of all time, and it's PC only. You can buy it off steam for like $10.

Also, Baldur's Gate (especially the second, Shadows of Amn). It's an RPG, but not like Fallout 3 or anything. It could be called turn-based, but it's not like "Attack, wait for enemy to attack, Attack again" etc. Trust me, it's worth it.

dragon age and duke nukem 3D. the console version doesnt hold a candle to the pc version. you wont find many pc shooters that arent on a console anymore. pc just excells at in depth rpgs, fps that have insane graphics, and rts's. if you feel up to trying out rts's i would recomend starcraft, warcraft 3, C&C3, starcraft 2, and heroes of might and magic 2 (amazing game)

How has no one said Crysis yet...? It's by far one of the best shooters yet released. Also Unreal Tournament 2004 is the best multiplayer FPS (far better then UT3...).
Other then that, the STALKER games are a must, not a "eh maybe" but an absolute must. And i'd also recommend most of the Tom Clancy games, since they're always better on PC, same with Mass Effect and The Orange Box (i know you've said you already have it on xbox, but trust me, as someone who has also played the xbox version, unless you've played it on PC, you haven't really played the Orange Box.).

Ruling out RTS and TBS games is ruling out some of the greatest games of all time, like Company of Heroes.

To give you something a little different that fits your criteria, try "Dark Messiah Might and Magic"

False... I own Deus Ex on both pc and ps2. I played the ps2 port first sadly, and it was awful). But my point remains, it's not PC only.

Team Fortress 2, Portal, Left 4 Dead 2, Garrys Mod, Civilization 4(It's A RTS), Painkiller, Serious Sam, The STALKER games, Deus Ex, Theif:Deadly Shadows, Plants Vs Zombies, The Ship, Ghost Master, and The Elder Scroll Games. Don`t forget Fallout 1, 2, 3, and Tatics!

Also GET STEAM.

PS - 80% of good PC exclusives are RTS games, so you might want to give TRS games another chance.

I think he means the first one, dude, which is PC only, unlike Invisible War (which was rubbish). But i still maintain that just because a game is also on a console, does not mean it should be played on a console. Hell, the only time it's reasonable to do so in my eyes is in the case of platformers, but even then you can just plug in any controller to your computer and still have a much better experience (which is what i did with Assassin's Creed. Playing the PC version on a big tv with a DS3 was much better then flatout console version.).

There WAS a PS2 version of the first one, it came out 2 years after and I'm NOT talking about invisible war.

You're forgetting Deus Ex: Dark Conspiracy, which was the console version of the first.

If you have a really really new PC (you need Vista/7 by default) get Shattered Horizon immediately. It's got absolutely amazing tactical zero-G combat.

Wow people, read the fucking OP BEFORE you post.

System Shock 2 - a great classic
Crysis - not an older title but it is a must play.
Deus Ex - Great game
The first STALKER - Buggy as hell but even so one of the best FPS games around.
Neverwinter Nights - I know you said that you've played most bioware games I'll list this anyway because it's not a game you want to miss.
Mount and Blade - An indie medieval game that's really fun.
Vampire - The Masquerade: Bloodlines - Good fun

Also some games like fallout 3 and dragon age are much better on the PC because of the huge number of great mods.

Glad to see a new person joining the Master Race.

Really? I just checked and the only listings for "Deus Ex" are on PC and mac. There is however something called "Deus Ex: The Conspiricy" for PS2, is that what you're talking about? Because in that case, i stand corrected, but obviously maintain the PC version would be superior.

Oh, my bad. I thought it was only Invisible War that was on the ps2. Either way, Deus Ex should still be played on PC above anything else, IMO
