We Are Our Avatars IX: Act V: The Sabotage of the Scandolous Saurian Scoundrels (Open)

[Chungus]

"You can see but only a single colour? I can see how that could be troublesome in situations like this." Yeul responded, not sounding very suprised. "So then, I would be your eyes, here. To judge what you cannot." She added, then turned to face the umbrella rack. She looked the selection over for a moment, the took off the rack an umbrella that was coloured purple and violet, each section of the umbrella having either of these two colours.

"This one looks passable. Although I would not know how much it costs."

Caius looked the umbrella Yeul picked out over, but said nothing upon finding it's quality was sound enough.

The shadow parried Seras' strike, knocking her back to the ground, then fell on top of her, trying to stomp her into the dirt.

 

[Chungus]

Landing on her back after being knocked down by Shadow Samus, Seras grunted and bared her teeth. She saw Shadow Samus falling from the air, towards her, but didn't get out of the way the moment she saw this, figuring that if she did, if would also provide Shadow Samus time to adjust. Instead, Seras raised her left leg and moved her left arm, placing her foot and hand on the ground.

When Shadow Samus was close to landing ontop of her, Seras pushed off the ground with her foot to move herself out of the way, then pushed off with her hand to get up. Just as Shadow Samus landed, Seras moved to Shadow Samus' back, and tried to seize the blade wing, which would be done by locking the Shadow's elbow between Seras' bicep and forearm.

"Well... ya..." Sophia nodded slowly, still looking a bit put off by having to ask for help, but knowing she had to anyways. "The way I've come to understand it is like taking the extra colours out of it. Something that's purple or orange or whatever might look different for you... but for me, it's just a lighter red, than red..." Sophia tried to explain. "I think I can see pinks too, but it's hard to describe something like colour when our definitions are off."

Sophia then looked over the umbrella, she was able to make out that it was striped but not much else, but it seemed worthwhile. "Sure, let me see how much it is." She said as she gently lifted up the price tag, seeing that it was about ten pounds. "Ya, that should be fine. It's only... 3 squiggles more than Caius'."

She then looked to the rain jackets, a brief hesitation about it before sighing again and looking to Yeul. "Since you did a good job here, would you mind helping me with one of those jackets too?" She asked. "If you can find one that matches whatever colour this is that would probably be the best, right?"

Seras managed to grab the wing in a lock, though she might cut herself a bit on it. Shadow Samus tried slashing her in the face with the other wing. "Get off me!" she screamed, freaking out a little.

 

[Chungus]

"Of course." Yeul responded with a nod, stepping over to the rack on which the raincoats hung. "There are two colours on the umbrella; purple and violet. There are no coats of that colour scheme, however. But this matches the most closely." Yeul stated, picking up a dark-blue raincoat with her free hand, and holding it out to Sophia.

"You cannot see most colours, and we cannot read the text of this world. I suppose we complement one another in this." She stated as she held the coat out, the faintest of smiles on her face.

Seras didn't respond audibly to Shadow Samus crying out, although she was a little uneasy with the situation, fighting something that moments before looked just like and still sounded like an ally, even if she knew the Shadow was an imposter. She set the thoughts aside, however. Now was not the time.

Holding on to the wing blade, Seras winced as she was cut a little, but this wasn't enough to make her release the wing. When Shadow Samus lashed out with the other wing blade, Seras raised her HF blade with the flat side facing the wing, blocking the wing blade. From here, Seras pushed against and down against the wing blade that Shadow Samus had just slashed with, aiming to slice it off at the base.

"It's purple? We should hide it from Gwen then, otherwise she might try and grab it from me I guess." Sophia joked quietly, Yeul's accommodation helping to alleviate some of the embarrassment she was feeling. "Ya how about that? Pretty funny how things like that work out." Sophia rubbed the back of her head when she was complemented about reading, looking a bit bashful.

"So what's this one, sorry?" She asked as she held it up to look at it herself.

Seras managed to slice the wing off, heavy black and red smoke flowing from the wound. Shadow Samus tried to back off and slashed wildly with her remaining wing, not trying to do major damage to Seras, just trying to make her back off.

 

[Chungus]

At Sophia's joke, Yeul momentarily smiled a little more, her eyebrows raising alongside the smile, as she wasn't entirely sure what to make of the joke. When Sophia asked about what the colour of the rain coat was, Yeul decided to simply move along with the change in topic. "Sorry, I had neglected to mention. It is blue. Dark blue, speciffically." She answered.

When the wing was severed, Seras moved position by a step so the wing wouldn't end up landing on her foot. Seras wasn't sure what damage it would do if the wing did land on her, but didn't want to find out.

Shadow Samus' flailing with her remaining wingblade didn't get her very far, as Seras was still holding it in a lock, although she was recieving more and deeper cuts. Cleching her jaw as the sharp edges bit into her arm, Seras raised her HF blade, although with the miasma spilling forth from the stump of the severed wing, her vision was impaired, making a clean slash difficult to do, and she could risk accidently injuring herself if she slashed blindly.

Instead, Seras placed the forearm of the arm in which she held the HF blade against the base of the wing, and tried to kick against Shadow Samus' left popliteal to force her to her knees.
Having seen how shotgun pellets didn't do much against the armoured form, she used a great deal of strength in her kick.

"Remember, if you use lightning on it, you can knock it down and get in an extra attack!" Teddie reminded Seras.

 

[Zepherus14]

"Alright, that sounds fine." Sophia answered back to her, her tone conveying she didn't really find much meaning in Yeul's words, but she knew enough to know that blue stuff and purple stuff normally work out enough for her to not get stared at for it. "That sounds perfect."

 

[Chungus]

With her facial expression returning to neutral, Yeul gave Sophia a single nod. Not long after this, however, Yeul's expression became more puzzled. She cocked her head to the side slightly and glanced down to Sophia's bare feet, then looked back up to Sophia's face and asked, "Should you not get some footwear while you are here?"

Seras managed to make Shadow Samus kneel, also dodging the severed wing. However, her wounds were getting deeper. Shadow Samus screamed, causing a wind blast around her to try and force Seras to let go and make her fall off the platform.

Being asked about footwear, Sophia's expression turned much the same way a child would if they had to eat broccoli. "Do you really think that's necessary..?" Her face betraying her slightly because she knew it was raining quite a bit, and having water logged feet was bad, but those damn shoes. "It's not like it rains here constantly." She tried to reason.

 

[Chungus]

With Shadow Samus being brought to her knees, Seras let go of the wing before the cuts would render the arm unusable. In the heat of battle, Seras could push back the pain well enough, and her the healing factor that came with her full vampiric powers meant she didn't have to worry about the damage in the long rung, but in the short term, it was better to avoid such an injury.

After letting go of the wing, it was Seras' intention to push Shadow Samus against the ground fully, but she was forced back by the wind blast before she could do so. Seras couldn't get into a position that would enable her to stay on the platform well enough, but she did pick up on Teddie's advice. "Zio!" She exclaimed, commaning Izanagi as she was flung through the air, before hitting the ground with a heavy thud.

The Persona obeyed the order, sending an electricity blast at the kneeled Shadow Samus.

"It has not ceased to rain for two full days." Caius chimed in, having been standing by and let Yeul and Sophia have their talk. "I would considder that a constant."

"I assume you have an aversion to footwear?" Yeul asked, picking up on the obvious hesitation in Sophia's voice.

The electricity blast slammed into Shadow Samus, disorienting her and making her fall, leaving her open for a followup blow.

 

[Chungus]

Pushing up against the ground with a heavy groan as Shadow Samus was struck by the electrical bolt, Seras got back up to her feet. Seeing the the attack had connected, Seras leapt back towards the platform, raising her HF blade to the point where the wrist of her sword arm was pulled to just passed the neck.

As Seras came down towards the platform, Seras swung the blade diagonally downwards, from left to right, aimed for Shadow Samus' neck, Seras hoping to land the finishing blow while Shadow Samus was down.

While Seras leapt back towards, Izanagi moved back to avoid being struck in case something didn't go as expected.

 

[Slenn]

<color=purple>Maybe we should outsource some color corrective lenses for Sophia. But I don't know if they would work on her.

If group members were keen to hear, they might hear a faint:
<color=green>"Ooooohh! Look at all the cool bikes they have."

 

[Zepherus14]

"Well it wasn't raining like this the last time we were here..." Sophia frowned, crossing her arms a little. "You could say something like that... Shoes and me don't get along all that well." She added to Yeul, still looking very reluctant to try on any.

Sophia looked up when she heard Winona, a puzzled look on her face. 'Why is she looking at a bike though?' She questioned to herself.

Seras' slash proved to be the finishing blow, separating Shadow Samus' head from her body. The armoured form collapsed, both it and the head dissipating into black and red smoke, though something seemed to linger in the cloud.

Samus began to stir.
