<color=purple>"It's partly why our dresses are actually in style where we're from. A bit of Victorian Era and a bit of old lolita fashion."

Seras took her hand back quickly, becoming nervous about Steve being revolted by her cold flesh. "London. I was born and raised there." she said as she put her hands behind her back. "Are you from a different time? I'm from modern times...well, modern for me anyway. Around 2014." she added, becoming curious about Steve.

Steve crossed his hands behind his back casually, but flexed his fingers slightly. Seras seemed to have the worst case of poor circulation in history.
"We've both come here from more or less the same time. City girl, huh? I quite liked London when I was there. They had great spirit, no matter what they had to deal with. I expect it's quite different now though. I haven't been there since '44."

<color=green>"It's pretty good. I'm trying to be careful though when I'm molding damp sand with my hands. Don't want to make these towers too tall."

Seras looked at Steve, quite puzzled by his collection of statements. "What's your definition of 'more or less?' It seems like there might be a pretty big gap between us." she said. If he was alive in the 40s, and he still looks like he does at present, then he still would have had to have come from some time in the past compared to her. She tried doing the math in her head, but it made her head hurt, so she stopped.

"...How were you alive in the forties? Do you have some kind of time machine?" Seras asking, considering this to be a not unlikely possibility.

"I wish it were that easy. I crashed a Nazi flying fortress in the Antarctic in the final months of the war, and I was trapped in the ice. They found me a few years back, still alive, and were able to revive me."

Seras nodded blankly after a few moments. "Oh...So I guess that's why you were in England? You were a soldier in world war 2?" she asked next.

"That's right. I trained there before D-Day began, and it was in London that I was given a serum to turn me into... well, what you see now. Before that I was probably not much more than your height and weight." Steve grinned momentarily. "After that, I was sent over to Europe seperate from the troops, as part of the USO show to raise morale. They gave me the stage name Captain America. I had a costume, a shield with the stars and stripes, a routine where I'd give a speech to the troops before punching Hitler in the jaw. Stuff like that. I didn't really become a soldier until afterwards, when a friend of mine was captured along with his platoon, and the top brass wouldn't risk the manpower to pull them out."

Again Seras could only mutely nod, thinking the story was rather incredible. "I see. Did you...get your friend back?" she asked tentatively, thinking this story could easily have a very bad ending.

Steve took a long breath and laced his hands behind his head, looking somewhat stressed all of a sudden.
"Yeah, I got him back. That time."

"Oh...okay." Seras said. She picked up on Steve's stress, and thought bringing up painful memories wouldn't be appropriate. "So...how do you like the modern era?" she decided to ask, hoping it would be a lighter subject.

"Well... as I said to Sara before, it's been a confusing time. No sooner was I unfrozen from the ice, I was approached by a branch of US military intelligence and asked to head up a team called the Avengers. Working with them has been... well, lets just say that I know it isn't something the average 21st Century citizen has to deal with in their daily lives. That kept me busy for the first couple of years. Then I discovered that a rogue element of the Nazi party had been in deep cover with shield ever since the war... I think you get the idea that I haven't had much of a chance to settle in and pass myself off as the average American veteran. I've tried to catch up with pop culture as best I can in my downtime, but I'm still a little behind." He chuckled. "It's a nightmare trying to talk to anyone who enjoy using pop culture references regularly." At this point he seemed to be loosening up again, regaining the easy humour he'd shown up until the discussion of his lost friend.
"So, I've been talking for a while. Care to fill in for me?" He asked, taking a drink of the glass of water he still had with him as he encouraged Seras to speak.

<color=brown>"Hey, this place is a 1000 years in the past for me. Pop culture may as well be a challenge for me too." Sara commented, still standing by Steve.

"Oh, u-um, I don't know where I would start..." Seras said, equal parts nervous about being in the spotlight and wondering how much she should reveal about her past. There were plenty of things she wasn't entirely prepared to talk about with a stranger.

"Well, what do you do? You know I'm a soldier, but I have no idea what your profession is." Steve said, hoping to coax Seras out of her shell enough to learn something about her, now that she was able to talk at all.
"Hey, it's just history for you. That's at least some sort of advantage!" He replied to Sara. "I'll bet you've already found out what a lead zeppelin was, and whether it was as terrible an idea as it sounds for example."

"Oh, I was a police officer, until I...I was hired by a private security company." Seras said, trying to not lie too much. She started playing with her hair nervously.
