"Yeah. They're all hand to hand styles. Powerful single strikes, grappling and pushing opponents, waiting for counter opportunities, stuff like that. Or I can just shift and start clawing at them. And as for those rings... Just don't shake my hand when you're wearing them." Kenna's remark had some dry wit, but also a sense of "no really don't do that".

Seeing the other soldiers preparing for a possible fight, Phaesan ran at a nearby wall and clambered up the side, her hands and feet clearly made for this. She climbed rapidly, up to the roof, and readied her pistol to take a shot if necessary.

[color=003399]"A car, to get to Siberia. That's where the Heavy is."[/color] Joel replied, as he looked around for a truck of some kind.

"Very well. But this is not over." Elm stated factually, and quickly after Taylor spoke, then turned around and began hovering away. Sam looked over the squad for a moment longer, then shrugged to himself, turned around, and followed Elm.While it hovered away, Elm began preparing a portal back to the Sworder, opening it once they were ten paces away from the tank.

Aboard the Sworder, vibrations traveled through the ship as space-time was being folded and pushed, before the portal opened. Once open, the duo stepped through the portal, it closing behind them smoothly.

"Interference meant we came back earlier then expected." Elm said to Share.

While Elm and Sam were gone, the Watcher in Cádiz remained, its gaze switching between falling on the bug people taking their leave, and the XCOM squat.

Joanna sat back and considered it. As she did, she gave Kenna a quick once over. She looked very fit and strong, and Joanna didn't doubt she was fast. She suspected the wolf woman was severely underestimating how difficult it was to get within the guard of a swordsman without a weapon in a fair fight however, especially one as graceful and sharp as herself. Maybe her wolf form would give her an edge, but even then, if she made one misstep, the only edge she would have was that of Joanna's scimitar in her flesh. She gave Kenna a mischievous smile, made cocky by her youthful face.

"Perhaps we can test ourselves against one another then." She remarked. "It may be best if I can get something to substitute for edged steel though. And I will be wary then. I only ever wear those rings to a specific purpose however, and always switch them for my favourites afterwards." She raised her hands to show Kenna four rings. One was dull pewter with a strangely ominous looking black stone. Another was entirely pewter with raised ridges resembling blades. The third was of dull brass with a large, intricately carved flower, and the fourth was of brilliant gold with a deep green gemstone. Though the eclectic combination may not have said anything for Joanna's aesthetic taste, each ring carried an enchantment that she had chosen very carefully to improve her chances of survival on her quest.

You look behind you when the duo returns, and say that it is just as well. To clarify you tell them that you contacted UN command and they told you that the three of you should only travel using traceable means, which means the Sworder or other in-dimension vessels. Quickly you add that they aren't overly angry, but you've received a warning.

"Squad, gather at the entrance to the tank. We grab any machinery we can move, and cut loose any that we can't."
"Copy that, mate." - Said Taylor as she moved into position next to the entrance of the tank, peering inside.
[color=3333ff]"I am on my way."[/color] - Said Ignatyev as he rushed forward to the tank.

"Alright. If we have to I guess." Sophia answered back reluctantly, sitting inside for a moment as she stared at the snow on the ground outside. She then looked at the boots in her hand, and with a heavy groan quickly put them on. The heavens gasped as Sophia wasn't barefoot for the first time in the thread. "Could we at least try asking someone for a ride first?" She said as she walked out into the snow, walking rather awkwardly out.

"I hope we don't lose anyone either." Seras said in reply to Steve. "Maybe I'll even be pulling you out of the fire." she added.

 

[Random berk]

"Stranger things have happened to me." Steve chuckled. "Although, last time that I had to be pulled out of a fight, it was when I was getting beaten up by a couple of bigger guys in a New York alley while I tried to fend them off with a dustbin lid."

"I had expected carrying a tracking beacon would count towards being traceable." Elm stated.

[color=edc393]"Speaking of."[/color] Sam chimed in, approaching Shara while pulling the tracking beacon off of the side of his scabbard he had attached it to. Reaching Shara, he held the device out to her. [color=edc393]"Here."[/color] Once Shara accepted it, Sam returned to the seat behind the captain's seat, and sat down again, pressing the button to make the faceplate slide up.

"How far away from Mars are we, now?" Elm asked, hovering closer to Shara.

Phaesan began moving towards the tank via the rooftops for as long as she could, before returning to street level and approaching the entrance.

Joel approached the first vehicle he could see that would be both suitable for the terrain and large enough for the group. With his metal left hand, he smashed the window and unlocked it to get inside. He then climbed into the car and started to hot-wire it, using his left hand any time he needed to use brute force to access wires.

"Guys bigger than you?" Seras asked, being quite interested in who he could have been fighting.

Soldier and spy got in the back of Scout's new car. "Engineer, I suggest that you make sure Scout follows the map. Otherwise I fear that he will get us all horribly lost." Spy said.

"Enough with that! Just drive so we can go kill some commies!" Soldier screamed immediately afterwards, pounding his fist into the back of the driver's seat for emphasis.
[hr] Medic watched as Joel smashed the window and hotwired the car, getting in the back seat as he did so. "Excuse me if I have already told you zis, but you are a remarkable specimen. I would very much like to experiment on you."

Steve grinned.
"Just a couple of ruffians. I wasn't always such an impressive specimen." He winked in jest at this. "I was pretty small, frail and sickly at the time. Probably about your size and weight. It was the serum that made me what I am now."

Sophia raised her hand up as Joel moved to go get the unmanned trunk, about to call to him to wait a second, but she was too late as Joel had already smashed the window. Shaking her head she looked around to see if there was anyone else around, looking back to Joel to see how he was progressing.

You say that you are on approach, and it's quite a sight. Through the main view screen, the red planet could be seen. It was still some way away, but rapidly approaching. You glance over your shoulder and tell them to strap in, as you will be accelerating heavily soon.

The squad moved into the tank, and outside the Skyranger could be heard landing. Without looking very closely at what they were grabbing, the three humans grabbed machinery (cutting it loose with their HF-machetes when needed) and hauled it into the Skyranger.

[color=003399]"Try anything like that, and I'll give you an up-close demonstration of how remarkable I am."[/color] Joel said, glaring at the Medic. Once the car started up, Joel detached the Murasama from his belt and got into the driver's seat. He balanced his sword between his leg and the door, while mentally reminding himself of how to drive.

"You guys gotta have more faith in me! I can get you to the base in no time!" He said starting up the car and driving forward.
"Sorry to say this Pardner, but the base is the other way."
"... Uh... I knew that! I was just testing you guys!"

"AAHHH!!! We can't kill commies if we go the wrong way!" Soldier screamed at scout, reaching around from the back seat to strangle the Scout.

"Oh, for the love of..." Spy mumbled to himself.

Medic got in the front passenger seat of the car. "Ah ha, yes. I believe you said something similar back when we were fighting the cyborgs. It must have slipped my mind." Medic said, hardly fazed by the threat.

Alain got in the back and figured out how the seatbelt worked. [color=5F04B4]"I'm just gonna get this out of the way: I have no idea what's going on."[/color]

 

[Chungus]

"Understood." Elm confirmed, hovering to the seat in the back of the Sworder, and lowered itself into it. Once down, Elm buckled the seat belt, and took hold the two far sides.

Sam also put the seatbelt on, silently. Once done, he leaned to the side slightly, and looked past Shara's seat, out of the window, looking for Mars.
