Ness looked toward the Rookie in surprise before nodding, understanding what he meant. "Avenging the fallen. I have no right to try and keep you from doing that at all. ...I guess we'll see you around when you end up in another space anomaly then... And Jessica say thanks for everything." She said as she gave him a small wave goodbye.

Turning to Jess, she shook her head. "No... he's not coming back. It looks like he's staying here to avenge the people who have fallen here. I can't blame him, he's part of the army here. If you're ready, I'll try to open up a portal back to that world."

 

[Kirke]

The Rookie shook his head, sighing. He walked over to Jessica and crouched down in front of her, as if to ask if she could bring him back here later.
OoC: According to the Halo wiki, there were billions on Earth before the war, and 200 million after.

 

[Chungus]

"I shall. Now, to set out. We have dallied here for too long already." Loki remarked, then comanded Fafnir to take to the skies, begining to head north.
Time skip.
Ariving there after several hours, Loki landed outside the city walls, believing landing in the courtyard wouldn't be the best thing to do at this paticular moment in time. He hopped from the saddle and began walking into the city, glad that his sensitivity to noise had returned to normal.

Jessica raised a confused eyebrow at Rookie, as she wasn't sure what his gesture of crouching in front of her meant. She telepathically answered Ness, "Uh...are you sure about that?...Well whatever...go ahead and make a portal back...we'll have the answer of where he wants to be after that..."

 

[Furioso]

Rita followed along, still a bit worried about her apparent look.

Ness looked at Rookie with a raised eyebrow as well. "It looks like he wants to come with us... but probabl wants to come back here when we're done. Since we've been here long enough, that won't be a problem... Now then..."

The fedora girl snapped her fingers and a portal opened leading to the outskirts of Lakewest. "Here we are... This one goes to Lakewest. And I'm going to get your ears fixed at least, Jess." She stepped to the side and motioned to it, waiting for the other two to move in. "Corporal, don't worry. When we finish, we'll be able to get you back here to do what you need to."

 

[Chungus]

Making his way towards the palace, Loki approached the guards standing outside. Unlike normal, the two guards were now accompanied by six MPs. "We are here to see the Lieutenant." he casually stated.

"The Lieutenant isn't seeing anyone now. Come back tomorow." one of the guards answered.

"We were given a task by the head of state, and are to report back to the Lieutenant. But, if you insist on keeping us from doing so, so be it. I hope this does nothing to weaken Xiphatia's position in the war."

The guard sighed. "Alright... I'll ask. Hold on." having said that, the guard reached for his pendant to contact Estella, verifying Loki's claim. Two munites after, the guard nodded. "Alright. Your story checks out. Follow me." Opening the gates, with some difficulty, as they were still damaged, the guard began leading Loki and Rita to through the palace. Loki and Rita would find that security had nearly trippled since yesterday, with regular soldiers making up for the losses the palace guard had suffered. There also were four golems in the courtyard, and two in the main hall.

Rita followed along, glancing at the guards and golems as she passed.

"Oh...that makes sense...yeah, that can be done now...no problem..." Jessica mentally replied to Ness. Finally letting go of the pendant on her necklace, she slowly made her way through the portal, not wanting to rush and fall over again as she still wasn't 100% better from getting clocked in the noggin twice. She once again was unable to hear what Ness physically said to her, so she didn't make any sort of response to her.

 

[Chungus]

The lead Loki and Rita to a large hallway of the second, one that looked similar to where the battle had been waged a day earlier. "Wait here, please." the guard said to Loki and Rita, then went around the corner. A minute afterwards, he returned with Estella, who nodded as a way of greeting. "You have returned." she then looked to the guard, dismissing him. The guard saluted and returned to his post. "If you would follow me. This isn't the best place to talk." Estella then lead the duo to what served as her quarters, and sat down after pulling up two other chairs. "I prefer to stand." Loki remarked, then looked to Rita. "Inform her of what happened."

 

[Furioso]

Rita nodded "It would seem Jessica, the beastkin, has betrayed us, and was likely in league with that Tophat thing the entire time. She did something to deafen us before escaping via teleportation. You can consider any room that she has seen, which for all we know could be every room in this castle to be a possible entrance point for a sneak attack from her, due to her teleport circles."

 

[Chungus]

"Additionally, they have another accomplis." Loki chimed in, then gave a description of what Ness looks like. "This person too, is capable of teleportation. And as my vassal has stated, no place the beastkin has been to, or even seen, can be still considdered safe." After a pause, Loki added, "Needless to say, these people are to be eliminated as swiftly as posible. And any person of importance, which would include yourself, should be without at least four guards capable of shield magic."

After taking in all the information, Estella nodded. "Very well... I will order a nation-wide state of emergency. Her Majesty would need to authorise this first, but given what transpired here yesterday, I doubt the will refuse to comply."

 

[Furioso]

Rita added "I wouldn't hang out in the open either, the accomplice, Ness, is a sniper."

 

[Chungus]

"Understood." Estella answered upon hearing Rita.

"I suggest that you, or perhaps get the queen herself to release an official statement regarding the matter.

Estella shook her head. "That wouldn't be wise. We've been keeping the various incidents that had occured over the months under wraps so that news of it doesn't reach Legaia, which could potentially give them a second wind. Plus, it would let these people know we are on to them as well."

Loki frowned, but nodded. "Speaking of Legaia, how fares the war?"

"We are more or less at an impasse, with both us and them sticking to defending locations, rather then attacking. Recent events do nothing to change that for our side."

"I see. Time to break this impasse then. This, we can do. I only ask that we are provided with whatever resources we may need. This will most likely be explosives."

Estella thought for a moment, then shook her head slightly. "I have little to do with the war efforts, and thus can't grant you this without it raising questions, which it will, as I've noticed my actions have been under scrutiny lately."

Grunting slightly, Loki asked, "Then take us to the queen. I will have her authorise it." Just as Estella wanted to protest, Loki cut her off. "I will not take no for an answer here. Take us to her."

Sighing, Estella stood up and walked towards the door, motioning for Loki and Rita to follow.

Rita followed Estella.

OoC: Hope Kirke doesn't mind this...

Ness followed the Rookie as he entered the portal and it closed behind them. She looked to Jess as she did so. "So our first priority is finding Tophat, right? But we need to make sure we don't get blindsided by Loki or Rita. ...Since they probably know that we've been freed from control... they'll probably try to silence us. That and we should seriously try to get your ears fixed up at some point."

Jessica was waiting right outside the portal for Ness as she emerged. She nodded to Ness and took hold of her pendant once again. "Well, Tophat's never really been shy about contacting me in the past...I'm sure we'll hear from him soon...As for Loki and Rita...yeah, they're gonna be a problem most likely...Loki isn't the type to take a chance on us still being under his control...He's got some forced friends in high places too...if we're going to try and fix my hearing, we'd better do it quick before we have to start hiding..."

Ness nodded as she made her way toward Lakewest. Right... then let's get moving. Hopefully, the hospital here will have people skilled enough to give you back your hearing. I've got enough money to cover it. Then there's the question of where we hide. I know since that brothel incident... that you hate LEgaia... but we might not have a choice but to stake out there... and in the same city no less. It's the only unguarded one.

 

[Chungus]

Estella lead Loki and Rita though a series of hallways and corridors, to the Amalia's second temporary quarters, which laid below the palace. Occasionally, they were stopped by guards,as Amalia had specifically instructed to be left alone, but Estella ordered the guards to stand aside. Once at the door, Estella knocked, before waiting a moment and entering.

"What do you want... I said I wished some privacy..." Amalia snapped as she laid on her side on her bed, though she appeared to be too glum to do so viciously.

"My appolagies, your majesty. But these people wished you'd give them access to recources so that they can aid in wining us the war."

"You disturbed me for that?!" she snapped again, now with a great deal more venom. She sat up, giving those that entered her quarters an angered expression. She had teary, bloodshot eyes. "Get out!!"

"I suggest you reconsidd--" Before Loki could finish his sentance, Estella cut him off, gently pushing him out of the room after shourding. Loki took a step back and made a projection of himself, while the real Loki walked further into the room. "Lead the way, Lieutenant." the projection said, while the real Loki reached for his pendant. Something is odd about this, and I intend to look into this further. Return to the hotel for the time being.
The projection would follow Rita, this was a strain for Loki, as he wasn't used to control projections over large distances. When Rita would enter the hotel room, Loki would dispel the projection.
