"That's right, I forgot. Well, let me get you some food." the shopkeeper went about gathering various foodstuffs, and such for the Rookie. When he was done, he bagged them and gave a smile to the man. "No charge, as always. It's the least I can do."

[hr]

"Who?"
The shopkeeper looked at the blades Cynane was pointing out. "Those blades can cut through nearly anything. Most of them go for about 700 Credits. Also, you damaged my floor which will cost me a bit to fix... I can buy a car for a few thousand Credits. Tell you what, 400 Credits."

OoC: @Random: Blake is Xiphatian.

The Rookie patted the shopkeeper on the shoulder in apprication, then exited the shop.
(To the Rookie: That went better than expected.)
OoC: Off to dinner.

"Had you not heard when I asked that woman in the government building about it? Granite Pass. I had wondered what would drive man to build a city ontop of a mountain, and now I know it is to mine ore and this mineral there was talk of. I wish to see this personally." Loki explained, the town of Granite Pass now within sight.

OoC: Huh. Looks like my avatar has spazzed out.

OOC: @Saltyk I know. And the shopkeep is Legaian. I assumed the news would have named Blake as the man behind the attack. And slyly appealing to the shopkeeper's patriotism couldn't hurt the price.

Cynane glanced at the gash in the floor momentarily, and looked somewhat embarrassed.
"General Blake led the Xiphatian attack the other day. I'd say this weapon is at least as valuable as them... but I'm guessing you're not going to see that. 550 credits. And, uh... sorry about the floor."

"I can assume they are mining a special type of quartz, I did manage to learn that it is used to power their vehicles. Seems to be just as important as the mythril is to the Legaians."

"Indeed, it is Quartz that is mined here. And this indeed is used to power their machines. I wonder if it can be bought." Loki answered as he and Rita entered the town. "And here we are. Rather a desolate-looking place, is it not?"

Loki and Rita would see that Granite Pass was a rather loose town. Lots buildings but no roads. Dry and ratehr noisy with the sounds of machines working in the distant Quarry.

A quarry for the mining of various metals and minerals needed in the construction of much of Legaia?s technology. This town features large numbers of inventers and heavy machinery.

"Is that who he was? We never knew his name. Okay, fine 550 Credits. Do you have a card?" The shopkeeper replied.

OoC: Blake didn't join until after the war, and there is no reason for anyone to really know him by name. Also Lieutenant Colonel.

OOC: Ah, shit. Sorry. Eh, it was worth a shot though.

"A what? I don't think so." Cynane smiled sheepishly. "Sorry, I don't really know much about Legaian currency. Trade where I come from is quite different to Legaia."

OoC: @Nail, was it quartz? Imagine Rita said quartz then

"Yea, but that's what I would expect from a mining town."

"No problem...." The shopkeeper gets out a card and transfer 550 Credits to the card. "Will there be anything else?"

OoC: Sorry, something came up.

Ness shrugs a bit. "We kind of assumed that the army might not be able to contain him, which would make him a murderous mess. But I found that was a bit idiotic of me to assume that an army can't contain one man, no matter how strong he may be."

"The barreness of the place comes at no suprise, but I had expected the place would be better organized like Fourside was." Loki remarked as he looked around, noting the dry enviroment, the only vegitation being short grasses and the occasional bush. Looking to the left, he saw the buildings were larger then most of the others, and thus likely more important, but also saw that was were the soldiers were milling about, indicating that it was were they stayed. Walking into Granite Pass further, he looked for someone who looked like they were in charge.

OoC @Furioso: I edited my last post a little then.
@Slenn: Nothing much.

"They probably don't care so much as long as they get what they need from the place." said Rita as she folloed Loki, looking around for anything that could interest her

Cynane shrugged.
"I've also got this." She said, showing the shopkeeper the strange grey gemstone that she had brought with her. "Now this thing is a real treasure. Its called a Daora jewel, and its secreted under the shell of an Elder Dragon of wind. It's extraordinarily valuable not just for its appearance, but because more than any other material, these jewels encapsulate the spirit of the monster that they belonged to. A jewel like this, if incorporated into weapon like the pommel of a longsword for example, would imbue that weapon with the spirit of this Kushala Daora and allow the wielder to chill the blood of his enemy like a blizzard. If incorporated into a suit of armour it would offer greater resistance to frost and wind than any fur. I'm watched over by other Wyvern spirits and don't need the Daora, but someone in this world could benefit greatly from it. Assuming you can build weapons or armour that will use it well, of course. It won't be much good if it's built into a cheap piece that will crack in its first battle."

"Look lady, you don't have to make up stories about a jewel, but if you want to see that kind of thing, I suggest you try a jewelry shop." the shopkeeper replied.

[hr]

Rita and Loki would hear a great crashing sound from due North, in the Quarry. Should they approach they would see a man yelling at another figure obscured in a cloud of dust.
