"Nope." said Rita as she tossed a coin to the shopkeeper. If the shop keeper looked closely she would notice the coin had foreign markings on it, but it looked gold.

OoC: @Salty, In the "Tales of..." series Gold is called "Gald" but really it's just gold, I'll leave it up to you to decide whether or not it's accepted

The shopkeeper looked at the coin. "These aren't Xiphatian markings. Is this even gold?"

Valetta scoffed. "That is tech. This is magic." She said holding up her hand as a large flame was created that that rose up nearly 3 feet.
"Second, even if what you say IS true, there's not a lot of off world tech to use, is there? And no one here has any skill or expertise with it. You're entire premise is flawed."
"But I thought she had a good point." Rica responded.
"Well, I didn't."

john hits the lunging soldier in the face with his staff and then thrusts it into the ground sending out a powerful pulse of mana which sends all the soldiers flying "i love it when i do that" he says to himself

"That's what I'm here to try and find out." Jessica replied to Ness. "Being of a higher order? What, you mean like a God or something?...Well, with what little actual data I have to go on, I suppose I can't rule out the possibility of higher beings having a hand in this. Of course, unless I find any proof of that, I can't say if that's the case or not." She leaned forward in her chair and began to rub her temple with her left hand.

Ness nods a bit, then snaps her fingers for a moment. "That reminds me... I've yet to see any of the data you've collected on the anomalies you've observed so far. May I see it at some point? And yes, I do mean a god of some sort. It makes sense if these beings are being sent to serve some purpose... "

"Oh no, the person I met could use tech from Legaia. But fair enough, you don't even want to consider that possibility." she finishes wiping the drone, and saunters over to Valetta. "But know this. Change is needed. The Great Hunt has been called. Something is unbalanced in this world, and the only real question in my mind anymore is whether it's Xiphatia or Legaia who needs to be dragged into the change. If you represent the average Xiphatian, its no longer a question of who." She glares into Valetta's eyes with an anger that would not stem from simply arguing with someone. Her eyes conveyed a loathing and disgust so intolerable, Lyra not murdering Valetta showed a large amount of self control. "Its a question of whether we should bother helping Xiphatia, because I don't like bigots. And a bigot you are." Lyra turned and began walking, no longer calm and in control, shoulders hunched, legs stiff, heading to the door.

"Oh, sure. I brought a copy with me after I went home last night..." Night...am I really getting used to it already? Jessica replied to Ness, seeming to stare off into space for a few moments. She shook it off, then reached into her coat and pulled out a hard-cover book. She stood up and handed Ness the book. "All the data we have on these occurrences is this first-hand account of someone who went through two of them."
Printed on the cover of the book was the title, "The Life and Times of a Schizophrenic Delusion" by Four Cuftbert. "And before you can ask, as far as we know, that isn't a pen name."

Sitting back down, Jessica said, "I'm not saying the idea of a God or something being behind all of this is ridiculous. After reading that book, I have a hard time finding anything ridiculous anymore. For all I know, this God idea could have weight. I just need to investigate and see what I come up with. Maybe see how this whole thing plays out."

@Dotslash: Kinda hate to do this, feels like I'm giving out homework almost, but to find out what's in the book, the best way would be to read through WAOA II and III. If you don't want to do that, I can try and sum it up as best I can.

The shopkeeper examined the coin closely. "Well..... It looks like Gold. I suppose I can let you have the map for it..." This could be a misprint, and those are actually worth more than normal...

"A Bigot am I? Do you know what the Legaians say of us? Have you heard? They think we curse them. They spread rumors that we turn captured soldiers into Golems. We don't! Golems have no souls. They don't live or even die. But the Legaians like to use us as boogeymen to scare their children. So, I ask, who's the bigot?" Valetta retorted.
Even if you know a man who can use Legaian tech from our world, that doesn't mean I or any other can. There have been documented cases of Xiphatians using their tech and causing explosions, even as recently as a few years ago. You say I'm a bigot. I say I'm pragmatic. At least, I'm not some religious fanatic.
She stood and walked to the exit. "Don't sit here and lecture me on these matters. Especially when it's obvious you don't even know the details." She says leaving the practice room in a huff.

Rica rubbed her arm. "I'm sorry, Lyra. Valetta is a bit hot headed..." She paused for a moment. "But she means well." She added hastily.

Rita took the map, she didn't think she was scamming the woman, as golden items did exist in her world, but she couldn't be sure. Before she left she asked "Is there anywhere I can sleep around here?"

@Drak: ...That's like 3000 pages of reading. I'd probably enjoy reading through it, but I know I'd get sidetracked somehow. Sorry, but I'm gonna need to ask for a summary. Also, I can't have Ness knowing all of the plot at once... correct?

Ness nods a bit as she slowly opens the book to a random page and reads a bit. She quickly closes it in shock. "... This is going to take a while... to get through.... And this really isn't a pen name? These events seem to not be a joke."

Lyra growled deep in her throat, before generating a target to hit. A man in his 40's, with cold blue eyes and blond hair would appear for an instant, before Lyra decked him and made him disappear. "I got pissed Rica. She baited me into that, and I put anger she didn't deserve on her, and I handled that poorly. Long Fang would have done it a thousand times better. Long Fang would have told her how he felt, and got on to teaching you about his tech, because he was better at this stuff then I was." She glares into space, and a woman in her 30's appeared, features strangely vague, wearing a robe and having hair as red as fire, before Lyra decked her as well, this time with her other fist. She took a few heaving breaths, pulled herself back, and her face turned into a mask of calm. "Sorry. You wanted me to tell you about my gear, right?"

Savranth found a room to sleep in. His old room when he was a student...

"Well..." The shopkeeper thought for a moment. "You can either try and see if they have a guest room available in the Main Tower, or try to get a room in the Dorm."

"If it's okay, I should be getting to my dorm. I have classes tomorrow. Can we pick this up tomorrow?" Rica asked Lyra.

"Yeah. Yeah, that's fine." Lyra turned, and began walking to the door. "See you tomorrow." she left the grounds, and began wandering the area around The college blindly, eventually settling in a small area, unrolling a blanket and lying down on it.

OoC: @Salty before you head off, would I be able to receive transmissions as well as send them? Or would they be scrambled before I could hear them?

Rita was able to find a guest room in the main tower. She went to sleep and resolved to head to the Mythril mines tomorrow.

Rica nodded to Lyra. "See you later, Ma'am." She then went on back to her dorm.

OoC: @FPS: I'm going to say that the transmissions are possible. Both sending and receiving.

"Like I said, not a pen name." Jessica replied, completely straight faced. "And take your time. It's a lot to get through. You can actually keep that copy if you want, it's not like a published autobiography is classified information." She took a deep breath and asked, "So, anything else you want to talk about? Or would you prefer to get to bed for our expedition tomorrow?"

@Dotslash: Alright, I'll PM you summaries of both threads. Might take me a while to get you them though, since I'm summarizing almost 3700 pages of Thread RP here...I'll probably do it in chunks. And yeah, I'd assume Ness would need time would read through the book.
