"It's happened where I'm from; something is used a lot, but then we find out it's pretty bad, so we ban it." Matilda replied. "Maybe we could ask in a bar or something. Drunk people can be pretty chatty."

"I don't think I've heard of a crankshaft, but I'm not the most knowledgeable about how machines and ships work." the merchant chuckled. "I much prefer to deal with people, and with coins."

In the Morning

One of the workers looked over at Yeager, then said, "Me. How strong are you?"

Yeager chuckled "Oh no no no I don't intend to work, but I am willing to pay. What's your price?"

"Are there some scholars that I could speak to? Perhaps they are familiar."

"Not like I already was in a bar ...

Actually, I have an idea. How about you go to the inn and ask around, and I'll catch up with you later? I want to find out something first. I have a room at the inn, you can use it if you get tired."

"What way is it?" Matilda asked.
"None around here. Anyone in this town that isn't a trader is a transporter. You might have better luck in the capital." the merchant stated, still looking through the notes. Though he wasn't an academic, he still understood the basic ideas of what EMily had written about. Once he had finished reading, he would hand EMily a leather pouch filled with gold and silver coins. "If you can think of anything else in future that might help us, when you've seen more of our world, you can visit merchant's guilds in the other major cities, and speak with the people there. I'll send word to them about you."
In the Morning

The worker looked at the rowers on one of the barges, getting their opinion on the situation. They shrugged in response, and returned to loading the goods. "Let's say five silver." the worker said, turning back to Yeager.

Yeager clapped his hands together. "Wunderbar! Tell you what, I'm so thankful I'll give you ten!" he said as he went to hand the worker ten silver coins.

Anik told Matilda about the way she had come from, describing the layout of the ground, the sound of the people inside the inn and how far it was away from the heat of the flame.

"Before you go I have one question: Is it just to kill?"

After yawning once more, you tell Matilda and Anik that you're going to go back to the meeting point, as you're curious what EMily has been up to. You take your leave and then head back towards the docks.

She pocketed the money in her satchel. "Thank you very much. Do you wish to hang onto these notes?"

Matilda thought for a few seconds, then said, "Sometimes. I've killed people before, in self defense. I prefer not to, though."
The priest looked up at the pair and nodded. "Ask away."
The merchant nodded. "I can try to find someone in the city that would be able to use them. A shipbuilder or experienced sailor, perhaps."
In the Morning

The worker would take Yeager's coins, then let him board the barge. Once it was loaded up, the two rowers sat down and began moving the barge forward. "You got urgent business in the capital?" one asked Yeager.

Yeager grinned "Ja, I have a lot of work to get done. I wouldn't really say it's urgent, but you know what they say, time is money." he replied, leaning against the railing.

"Well said. We'll meet each other later." Anik said and headed inside the temple, where Cybil and Robin had already gone. She whistled faintly while doing so.

Hearing Robin, Cybil and the father talk, she headed into their direction, but waited outside the office instead of going in. From there, she read the fathers heart.

"I'm interested in these teachings. I don't suppose you have any holy books on hand to take away?" Robin asked.

"Remember, the ideas should to be experimented on first before any applications are made. But we should share this with the sailors to see what they think could be engineered. I'm sure they'll be glad to experiment on this. I'll create another copy of this material to share with the scholars in the capital, should the opportunity arises." She realized how much time had sped by and then looked quite flustered. "Oh, dear. I've forgotten how involved I am in this I forgot to look at the clock. I need to meet up with some friends." She got up out of her chair. "Do you mind if we conclude this meeting?"

Anik would learn that the priest was fairly virtuous and selfless, thus could be described as a good person. His heart was fairly similar to what she would expect of a human, but was slightly different.

Father Ysha stood up, and handed Robin a book. This one also had a flaming sword on the front. "Take this. It's a spare copy." he said. "It's good to see northerners interested in our gods."
The merchant shook his head. "No, I think this is all we need to discuss for now. Stay safe, Miss Mason." he said, smiling up at EMily.
Matilda walked off, but not before asking Heno and the Gems if they wanted to come with her.
In the Morning

"That's fair. So, are you a merchant or something?" the worker asked, looking at Yeager's briefcases.

Yeager nodded. "You're a perceptive one. I am indeed a merchant. I sell various kinds of machinery and other assorted tools. A simple trade, but one I do enjoy." lied Yeager, not keen on telling these strangers everything.

"You too." She bowed her head and made her way back to the meeting point in the city.
