"Hello there. Are you the super old elves here that we've heard about?" Cybil greeted.

The elves looked at Sally, a little puzzled, before one responded to Cybil. "We are indeed."

The kitchen-workers returned to their original positions, preparing food. One would demonstrate how the tea was made to Anik, and anyone else who was interested.

After confirming that it is agreed where to go north, you begin to quicken your pace. "I think it'd be good to cover a little more ground before we make camp for the night."

If the Terminator found it odd that there wasn't any guards at the gate, it did not show it. After a quick look around it continued into the city and towards the central tower.

"Alright then. I'm Cybil, and this is Sally." Cybil made introductions to the elf that was speaking to her. "Would you mind if we asked a few questions? We're trying to help solve some problems." She was pleasantly surprised to find they weren't freaking out nearly as much at the presence of strangers as the elves downstairs had been.

"What questions?" a different elf asked, suspiciously. "And what problems are you trying to solve?"

Calibeth City

As the Terminator entered the city, he would spot a few dead bodies of city guards, lying in the streets. Some had been cut with swords, others had burns and a few more seemed like they had been mauled to death by large animals. The sights unsettled the Terminator's companions, and they got close to the palace.

"Well, we met some elves down at the bottom of this big tree who told us they got kicked out from living up here." Cybil began to explain. "We were wanting to learn the whole story about that, to figure out if they were wronged by that. And we heard you guys are old enough to be around when that happened, so would you mind giving us your side of the story?"

"Well, first off, six generations of people thrown from the tree because of alleged cannibalism, that, according to our sources, never occured." sally started off, "Followed by the fact that you seem to say that they ate people in the first place. Tell me- Were you among the generation that exiled those elves?"

As they were working, Anik asked about the social structure of the tree people. "So ... are you the servants of the older elves? Or what relation do you have with them?

Can you also tell me how you get your food? Is there a way outside, where you can collect it?"

"We discovered a group of elves living on the lower branches had been killing each other and eating their meat. This is against our rules, and so we exiled them. It is as simple as that." one elf explained.
"Over the years, the descendants of those elves, who as you must have seen were physically warped by their sinful behaviour, have attacked us." another of the elves added. "Unprovoked, I might add. We have allowed them to live with no interference from us, but they demand the right to return."
"We're not really servants of them. They lead us, make important decisions and settle disputes." the elf told Anik. "And there are ways out onto the branches, which is where we gather the food. There are also some old homes on the lower branches, but they were abandoned."

"Yes, well, we've spoken to the elves living at the bottom of the tree, and the two stories we have don't really add up." Cybil replied. "They've denied allegations of cannibalism, but not that they were eating animal meat. However, they attest that their reason for eating meat in the first place was that whoever makes the decisions regarding handing out food refused to give them enough to survive, so they were forced to do so in order to survive." She paused for a moment to let the information she delivered sink in. "Do you have any thoughts you'd like to voice so far?"

"They lead you because they are the elders? Or is there some kind of election process?

... Can you actually gather food from the old homes on the lower branches?"
Anik asked further. She was quite skillful in making and arranging the tea on plates or however it was prepared.
"Also, this might seem an odd question, but what kind of clothing do you wear?" she said, pointing to her blindfold to indicate she couldn't see it.

"The might not resort to cannibalism now, but when we exiled them they definitely did." the elf stated.
"As for them not getting enough food, we haven't had this problem since they left." another replied, though Cybil and Sally may notice that these elves seemed to have a disproportionately high share of the food. "Perhaps they were lying, or perhaps there was a problem."
"They lead us because they're the elders. They've been alive longer than anyone else in the tree, and so they have much more life experience."
"You can't get food from the lower branches, which is why we put homes there." a different elf told Anik. "And we mostly wear what we can put together from things that grow in the trees. Some of us just don't wear anything, though. It's warm enough, after all."

"Okay, so maybe their ancestors did eat people in the past, I can't say for sure since they don't seem to be alive any more." Cybil conceded. "But we have it on good authority that these particular elves we're representing don't eat people. Do you really think it's right to punish these people for something they themselves are not personally responsible for? Also, if you'd just let them live up here, they'd stop attacking you, since that's all they want." She pointed over at the massive pile of food they had and added, "Plus, you guys have got tons of food up here, I'm sure there's plenty to go around by now."

Sally nodded, "I know one thing- You appear to be eating far more than most folks. Take it from me- You only need half of this stuff, and I know, because I lived on a quarter this quanity. And yet you claim yourself so mighty, when you seem to be siphoning off just a bit more for yourself." she said, appearing mostly calm, but with a slowly burning flame in her soul.

The Terminator looked at the bodies it walked past, scanning the wounds. It then drew its sword, telling its henchmen to do the same. It also added, to make sure they did not run; "I will terminate your village if flee."

"The food we have up here is for the ten of us. This is the reason we can live as long as we have. Without us, our people would be left leaderless." an elf stated.
Another the spoke up, saying, "It may not seem fair, or equal, but it is for the good of our people."
"Just think; without us, you would be unable to get the answers you sought! None of the other elves were around during the exile, but we were. We were the leaders then, and so we know why the decision was made."

The ten men drew their swords, looking around nervously to see what had killed all the guards.

"Heh, fair enough." Anik said, believing that therefore the elves probably did not have a beautiful clothing tradition.
"So, the other elves did say that the ancestors did not have enough food. Does a shortage of food happen often?"

"Okay. Just that I don't really trust you all that much- Last person who said that something was good for their people killed both the doctors, three innocents, and threw my home into chaos simply because he thought the very idea of leaving the Vault to be pretty much leathal." she said. "So, pardon me if I take it with a grain of salt."

Very quiet murder town
Keeping its pace up, the Terminator looked around for the entrance to the palace. It did not quite know what it would look like, but assumed the largest and most impressive one would lead to its objective.
