On its way to the trio, Ultron couldn't pick up on what it was Shara mentioned to her companions, but noted it was said in a lowered voice. This seemed off to it, but it didn't think too much on it.

Once it caught up to the trio, and Alain responded, Ultron was somewhat confused by the reaction it got from Alain. It looked Alain over, and asked,

"What? Never seen a robot before?"

having come to the conclusion that was likely the case, Alain just about looking more primitive than Shara with the scraps his armour were made of.

While it spoke to Alain directly, it took control of drone #3, and used it to respond to Shara.

"What brings you here?"

it asked, the drone turning its head to Shara as it spoke.

Robin would find nothing noteworthy around the western gate, which was wide open.

"Wood, generally." the woman replied. "What is 'mechanics'?"

Northern Road

Rebecca turned towards the robots, and looked over them curiously, her left eye once again gaining extra pupils. [color=446ccf]"We were thinking about it, at least. Why, looking for some company or something?"[/color] she asked.

 

[Chungus]

Hearing Rebecca's answer, and how it conflicted Shara's to a degree, Ultron began getting mildly suspicious. It took control of drone #2 as well, and had it look to Rebecca, using it to respond.

"I don't plan to stick around for very long, but in the meantim--"

It didn't notice Rebecca's eye changing immediately, but cut itself off when it did.

"...What just happened with your eye?"

it questioned.

Robin headed out the west gate, back into the now cool desert, looking for signs of life.

You glance to Rebecca before looking back at the robots. You do no interrupt, as you're a bit curious about her strange eye yourself.

Desert

Robin would see the same things as Timea had earlier; discarded tools in the farms next to the road. There would be no signs of life anywhere nearby.

[color=446ccf]"Just a little magic trick of mine."[/color] Rebecca replied.

 

[Chungus]

Ultron considered asking what this trick was about, but kept itself from doing so, not expecting to get much of an answer. Instead, the drone that replied to her went back to looking straight ahead, Ultron itself looking at her.

"Neat trick. But seriously, what brings you three here? Most of you look like you came from some other world."

 

[Kirke]

"Oh, y'know, we just love hiking. How about you, then? You're certainly not from around here."

 

[Chungus]

"I'm investigating a couple of things. Right now, I'm looking into something coming from the city over there"

, Ultron answered, idly motioning towards Meltha upon mentioning it. It found Shara's answer strange, the trio not looking like they were equipped for hiking trips. It could reason the lack of supplies being why they went to the city, but this didn't explain the lack of proper clothing.

"Are you looking for anything in there?"

it asked with these thoughts in mind.

 

[Silence]

"Building stuff with metal! Like ... cogs, or stuff. Wheels! And something like that!" Speedy replied, confused how he could explain stuff from his world to this woman.
"So which city is the most advanced in science and technology here?" he asked, hoping it might lead him somewhere.

"Well, I think this is the most advanced city when it comes to studying sorcery, and metalworking." the woman explained.

[color=446ccf]"We're looking for a way to get money, primarily. What are you looking for? Maybe we can help."[/color] Rebecca replied.

"This place is pretty screwed if the sun is really gone." Jane commented as she looked up at the sky.

"We're still here. And it's already been a day... I think. It's hard to tell time now..." Robin commented to Jane. He looked to the west, and headed that way.

"Yeah, but it's still going to get cold, and food isn't going to grow." Jane countered.

 

[Silence]

"Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm" Speedy's thoughts jumped around in his head, until he finally got a new question, that maybe, in, some way, was related to a power source. "Do you know what happened to the sun?"

*rumble*

"Are earthquakes common here? The books could fall down!" Speedy was concerned.

"I know. We should try to fix this, if we can. I'm just saying it's not instantly the end." He opened his tome and held out his hand. "Fire!" A flame in his hand appeared, held in his palm, to light the way across the desert and keep him warm-ish as they went.

 

[Silence]

As Robin cast fire, Anik held out her hands towards the flame as well, trying to get some of the warmth.
"You know," she said, "I should get this rune put somewhere soon, myself. I wanted to have it done in Cal ... nevermind. I still believe we were put here for a reason, and the reason has not shown itself yet." she thought for a moment, then decided to ask:
"Jane ... do you have experience with something similar?"

[color=006d5b]"Maybe not... Robin, didn't you mention rituals to do with plants growing in that book you got?"[/color] Matilda said.

"No idea." she replied. "What are earthquakes?" she then asked, answering Speedy's question.

 

[Silence]

"Don't you have a book about something like that? Like, when the sun goes down? Or up?

Earthquakes are these rumblings that happen right now in the city! Why do they exist?"

"Marking yourself is a bit extreme, but we should get you a medium. For now, do you have something I could draw the symbol on?" Robin suggested to Anik. When Matilda spoke, he levitated the holy book out of his pack, then caught it in his hand and made sure it didn't go near the flame. "Some of them spoke of using plants as regents. I'll have another look." Robin paged through the book, looking for anything that mentioned plants.
