Veketta Area - Day 5 - 20:32
As Timea told her, Anik went over to her, took of her gloves, placed them carefully next to her, and started digging with both hands, placing the soil to her other side. She frowned while doing it, really feeling uncomfortable about it, but did not complain, as so often.
Listening to what Timea told her about the war, and about not interfering, Anik answered after: "You are correct, we do not know which one is right. I had thought about preventing it, but without a lot of power, this will not be possible. And ... just interfering is usually just guessing the outcome, and positioning oneself on the side which will give the most profit, after.
It's a very selfish thing to do. I guess you can not change the course of nations directly, and for some time. It might give a better outcome for some time - but for oneself, not for everyone. I agree with you, we should not interfere here, we have nothing at stake, and we do not know what our involvement would entail, at all.
We interfered with some elves in the east, some time ago. We basically overthrew their ancients traditions on the behest of some banished elves - but we do not know what happened, after. Maybe our involvement did good, for the previously banished, but I don't think the old inhabitants will be happy for some time. Maybe we just established the same system, just with the roles reversed.
So ... I agree. We should keep out of it, as much as possible."
After she had spoken, Anik guessed she had digged enough. She carefully counted her steps back to where she had placed the meat, felt for and found it, then carried it back to the hole, and placed it in there. She then began to bury it by throwing the soil over it, but hesitated for a moment, waiting if Timea would comment on it.
