Femesh Daer - Day 4
You glance around to see if there are any back streets you might lose the guard in, or perhaps confront him in a less public environment.

Veketta Area - Day 5 - 20:32

Continuing digging as Anik gave her response, Timea loosened up a good amount of soil by the time Anik finished. Looking up to her, Timea scooted backwards, saying, "Okay, this will do. Come over, and finish it. I suggest taking your gloves off, for it."

After giving the instruction, Timea was quiet for a short while to indicate she was speaking about a different subject. "It's not so much revenge that will be the thing to ignite the war; but fear, I think. Although revenge certainly could be adding fuel to the fire.

If we were in a position to interfere, however, I wouldn't. Interfering in things like these is bound to make things worse for someone, at some point. And what right do we have to do that? Or claim who is, and is not right, for that matter.

That's to say of nothing that there simply isn't any point in trying to change the course of nations, in any way. A change today will be rendered moot by another later in time."

Femesh Daer - Day 4

Shara would spot a side-street with nobody on it, on her left, that she could go down.

As Timea told her, Anik went over to her, took of her gloves, placed them carefully next to her, and started digging with both hands, placing the soil to her other side. She frowned while doing it, really feeling uncomfortable about it, but did not complain, as so often.

Listening to what Timea told her about the war, and about not interfering, Anik answered after: "You are correct, we do not know which one is right. I had thought about preventing it, but without a lot of power, this will not be possible. And ... just interfering is usually just guessing the outcome, and positioning oneself on the side which will give the most profit, after.

It's a very selfish thing to do. I guess you can not change the course of nations directly, and for some time. It might give a better outcome for some time - but for oneself, not for everyone. I agree with you, we should not interfere here, we have nothing at stake, and we do not know what our involvement would entail, at all.

We interfered with some elves in the east, some time ago. We basically overthrew their ancients traditions on the behest of some banished elves - but we do not know what happened, after. Maybe our involvement did good, for the previously banished, but I don't think the old inhabitants will be happy for some time. Maybe we just established the same system, just with the roles reversed.

So ... I agree. We should keep out of it, as much as possible."

After she had spoken, Anik guessed she had digged enough. She carefully counted her steps back to where she had placed the meat, felt for and found it, then carried it back to the hole, and placed it in there. She then began to bury it by throwing the soil over it, but hesitated for a moment, waiting if Timea would comment on it.

Timea sat by and listened to Anik's reply, her stomach growling several at several points being the only noise she made. She frowned angrily when she heard about what had happened in Whitewood, greatly disapproving of it. She didn't say anything about it, however, thinking there was no point to get angry over something in the past, when Anik wasn't going to repeat the actions.

After Anik finished speaking, Timea was quiet for a moment, then let out a small chuckle. "My, the days have changed you, haven't they? You're nothing like the dame I first met, by the river."

She didn't comment on Anik burying the meat, not having a reason to.

Finishing burying the meat, Anik swiped her hands on some grass, it barely doing something, then put on the gloves again. "You are right, I have changed a lot ... it really depends on the people you meet. I did not think I could go back, to where I was before ... nevermind that. I'm grateful that you, and the others, for all their faults, have shown me another way. And that you continue to show me. Nobody in my world would even think of teaching me survival skills ..."

She was about to trace her steps back to her cane and bag, before she hesitated, thinking. "Is there something we could use to mark where I buried the meat?" she asked, then.

Femesh Daer - Day 4
You move down the side-street, trying to act casual. As soon as you round the corner, however, you begin to sprint. When you are about halfway down the side-street you glance over your shoulder to see if the guard is in sight.

"Nothing that would really stand out. But you don't need your cane when moving around in the city, yes? If so, you could just stick it in the ground, here", Timea answered, standing up. "Either way; I'm happy to help." After saying this, Timea was quiet for a moment, choosing her words.

"Hmm. I should apologize. At times, I looked at you and saw... well, nothing positive. But you're proving me wrong. There is - shall we say - room for improvement, of course. But by virtue of wanting to improve, you're showing yourself a good person, by my definition.

As Timea said, Anik traced her steps back to cane and bag, and used the cane to mark the spot where she had buried the meat. As she listened to Timea, she did not quite know what to make of it, and answered, after: "Thank you. I doubt I am a good person, but I can at least try not to be a bad one.

Now, is there a good place to store my bag, here?"
she asked, assuming this was the spot where they would make camp.

"There aren't any bushes nearby here to hide it under, and we're too close to the city to just leave it out in the open, so it would be best to carry it with you, just a while longer", Timea answered, then turned around, and began slowly walking towards Veketta. "Let's get going. The sooner we get this done, the sooner you can rest your shoulders."

"Alright." Anik said. While she was not happy about carrying the bag around further, it would not be a big problem. She followed Timea closely into Veketta, hoping buying meat would go fast.

Femesh Daer - Day 4

As soon as the guard saw Shara start to run, he broke into a sprint, calling out, "Stop right there!" Shara would find herself running towards a larger, more crowded, street.

Looking at Veketta as she and Anik walked towards it, Timea frowned on seeing the rain cloud still looming overhead. "Ugh. It's still raining, there. What ever is even the point of making it rain like this?" she complained, largely speaking to herself.

You consider trying to outrun your pursuer for a moment. But he knows the city far better than I do, and he'll get backup. Better to get him out of the picture now and then run. With this in your mind you stop. Your hand instinctively reaches for the hilt of your sword, though you'd prefer not to kill the guard.

Hearing this, Anik frowned as well. She hoped she would not get lost in the rain, but did not say so, thinking it might lead to an unnecessary argument. "I don't understand this, at all. Who would do something like this?"

"I can think of two reasons: Either someone with too much power is throwing a temper tantrum. Or, the someone wants to clear the streets, for whatever reason. Either way, let's hope we'll be able to find a butcher, quickly. I don't want to see what happens when the blanket gets soaking wet."

Veketta - Day 5 - 20:48

Entering the city after a ten minute walk, Timea sniffed the air, searching for the scent of freshly cut meat.

"Yes, let's do it quickly." Anik responded, now disliking the idea of going back into the city even more.

Inside the city, Anik would cease clicking, and try to find her way by sound alone.

Femesh Daer - Day 4

As Shara and Co moved through the city they might notice the unusual amount of supplies heading towards the shoreline, although their current predicament could have made them not notice.
