Femesh Daer - Day 4

When Shara reached for her sword, the guard stopped and did the same. He drew the blade slowly, staying relatively close to Shara but still too far for her to hit him.

Rebecca decided to follow the supplies down to the shore, hoping she would lose any pursuers in the crowd.

Veketta - Day 5

Timea would be unable to smell any freshly cut meat, which she would likely realise was due to the shops being closed for the night.

Veketta - Day 5 - 20:48​

Not picking up on the scents she wanted, Timea instead sniffed the air and searched for meat that wasn't freshly cut, going by the richness of the scents to differentiate meat on a plate from cuts hung in a store. Unsure how late the stores would close, and unsure what time it was to begin with, Timea didn't assume the stores were closed, instead thinking a butchery simply hadn't cut anything fresh since earlier in the day.

"How are you doing, Anik?", she asked as she walked, speaking in between sniffs.

Veketta - Day 5 - 20:48

Anik tried to differentiate the sounds of the rain on the wooden houses, and the stony street, to prevent herself from walking into something. For right now, she was successful, even though it took a lot more concentration than using echoes would do. Trying to follow Timea, and sensing other hearts, she was also successful not to run into anyone, even though she more than once grazed a person, mainly the bigger Vesh'Rah, accidentally. Using all her concentration for this, she was not helpful in finding some meat, or realizing in what kind of activities, after business hours, the Vesh were engaged in.

It was soon that she realized she was falling behind, Timeas question bringing it up: "Uhmm ... could you go a bit slower, please? I have difficulty keeping track of everything."

Veketta - Day 5

Timea would be able to smell meat that had been cooked or served up, and some hanging for storage. However, none of these scents were coming from an open butcher's shop, instead coming from inns and residences.

Veketta - Day 5 - 20:49​

"Of course", Timea responded, slowing down at Anik's request. She spent another minute walking around and sniffing the air, staying close to buildings and other forms of shelter as much as possible to shield herself from the rain. When following her nose lead her to a closed butcher's store, she stopped, blowing a sigh as she gave up.

"Let's head back, all the stores seem to have closed", she announced, turning around, and beginning to go back the way she came. She considered breaking in to the store to steal meat, but dropped this idea, assuming the Vesh'Rah would be able to pick up on her scent that would linger in the building, and find out who was responsible through it.

 

[Silence]

Veketta - Day 5 - 20:48

Following Timea closely, Anik was glad Timea did walk slower, but them walking close to buildings led to Anik walking into the corners of houses, or into some barrels, more often. She put her hands before her, to feel for more obstacles, but it did not help much. As Timea stopped, Anik had used most of her concentration, and felt tired.

"Damnit." she answered, "Is it that late already?"
She was not in a mood for much thinking, but she developed an urge for someone to take her by the hand, and lead her. Thinking this would not be something Timea would like to hear, as she thought of indepence as one of the most important features, she did not ask for it.

"How long can you go without food?" she asked, as they started to walk back.

Veketta - Day 5 - 20:49​

"I'm not entirely sure", Timea answered after some thought. "As I mentioned, I'm not very good at keeping track of time. But I'll be able to go without food until the shop open again, without much issues", she answered, clearly not sounding very thrilled about the prospect. She was quiet for a moment, then, in a hushed voice, added, "... However, if you hear anything about livestock going missing, you know where they've gone."

After another short pause, Timea continued speaking at normal speaking levels again. "Either way, are you all right, Anik? You've been bumping into things ever so much." She considered asking why Anik wasn't using her echolocation, but figured the rain was interfering with this like the veil was.

 

[Furioso]

Rebecca would eventually come across Yeagers construction project. Off to the side of the under construction building were Yeagers robots, which had compacted down into the form they were in when they were being transported, but were no longer in the crates.

 

[Silence]

Veketta - Day 5 - 20:49

While relieved about Timea not having problems, Anik did not give much of a reaction to Timea saying she was about to steal livestock. While she was not fond of it, she was too tired, and did not care enough to argue.

When Timea asked about her bumping into thing, she winced a little bit, having hoped that it was not too obvious. "I'm alright, just tired ... and I have nothing to help me in this rain." she answered, "I hate it, I don't know where I am ... this rain came at the most inopportune time."

Femesh Daer - Day 4
[color=0066cc]"What do you want?"[/color] - You ask as you look over your shoulder. You keep as still as you can, but bend your knees ever so slightly so you can explode into action. Breathing slower and deeper, you prepare yourself mentally for a fight, paying more attention to the 'weaves' that surround both you and your opponent. You still cannot read them very well, but you can at least get a feel for the situation.

 

[Slenn]

The sisters followed Robin into the inn. Magic Eye was conducting a study of its own. It was looking at the various species and doing imaging of them with an infrared laser.

The Doctor followed them to the inn and Beak went back to the Staples

Robin joined Magic Eye in the scanning, looking over the patrons.

Veketta - Day 5 - 20:50​

"We have the wonders of magic to thank for it", Timea, sounding jokingly, though feeling somewhat bitter.

After speaking, Timea moved to a spot where she would be the most sheltered from the rain, and stopped there, and let out a
"hmm" as she thought. Not seeing any way pushing Anik to find her own way without her aides would help her personal growth, Timea decided to help.

Extinguishing the flames, Timea untied the blanket, then held it out to Anik. "It's not much further until we're back on the farmland, but I'll give you a hand. Hold on to this."

 

[Silence]

Veketta - Day 5 - 20:50

"Maybe I can learn to do it this well, to disable myself more often." Anik answered, laughing a bitter laugh.

She followed Timea to the spot, wondering what she was up to. As she told her to hold on to the blanket, Anik hesitated first, thinking about refusing the offer, but then did feel for and held on to the blanket. "I'm sorry this is so complicated." she said, "But thank you."

Veketta - Day 5 - 20:50​

"Don't fret over it. You have your limitations, there is nothing wrong with acknowledging this", Timea replied, taking hold of Anik's hand after she took the blanket, thinking this would be the most inconspicuous way of leading her along. "Although in the future, you probably shouldn't leave your cane behind."

After Anik would reignite the fire, Timea would continue moving, walking at a somewhat slow speed so that Anik could keep up.

 

[Silence]

Veketta - Day 5 - 20:50

"Yes, I did not know that this rain would keep up, even though it was magic and came this sudden. I don't like all these things surprising me, it's making me afraid. And I know that I should not let fear rule over me." Anik answered, and reignited the fire. Being led, it was no problem for Anik to really keep up.

Veketta - Day 5 - 20:51​

At the last bit of Anik's sentence, Timea glanced down while walking, the comment bringing up morose feelings.

"Well, I did say it was still raining before we entered the city again, you still could have gone back for your cane. Now, I understand being tired makes it more difficult to think clearly, and it's a small mistake. Just take it to heart, and avoid making it in the future. Live and learn, as they say", Timea answered after a moment of being quiet, not sounding judgemental about it.

Leaving the city after a short walk, Timea and Anik came out at the farmlands. There, she looked around if she could see any livestock walking around, aided by her sniffing the air.

 

[Silence]

Veketta - Day 5 - 20:51

"I ... yes, I am not thinking straight right now." Anik said. "I will try to remember. It's annoying this cane is as long as it is, it does attract attention, even though we don't want to."

Veketta - Day 5 - 20:52​

"Well, you have a sword, you can easily make the cane shorter with that", Timea replied, specifically thinking of the saw back on Anik's longer sword, but not mentioning such, wanting to see if Anik would think of this, herself. "Anyway, we're out of the city, now. Do you still need help moving about?"
