Utarra Area - Day 8 - 20:37

"Robots are abject mockeries of life. It's not surprising such a thing feels nothing, they're just objects", Timea responded, sounding somewhat venomous, although this wasn't directed towards Anik. She was quiet for a moment, frowning a little as her stomach rumbled, then continued, speaking normally. "Either way, another thing I've wondered about is... on my world, I've heard plenty of talk about the soul, or spirit. Little details seem to vary, but the general idea is that it's a "true self", beyond what's palpable. Is this the same as a "heart", just by a different name?"

"Sorry to dissappoint you again, but I don't know that either. Maybe not, judging by that if people die, their heart ... what I sense ... vanishes. And the stories about the soul and the spirit are about them living on after death.

But maybe I can just read a heart if it is in a body? I don't know, really. Also, spirits, at least in stories, retain memory from before. Meaning it is more their thoughts than their feelings. But would this not then be called the mind, and not soul or spirit? It is confusing! I don't understand it."
Anik said, somewhat wondering why Timea was asking her these metaphysical questions, even though she was much older, and Anik never really learned about the metaphysical.

"It is, indeed, strange. As is the fact that these stories exist on your world, too. Apparently", Timea responded, letting out a small chuckle. "Personally, I think that the stories about souls, spirits, and places where these go, are just that - stories. Made up by people who can't face death, or that ultimately, there is no real purpose to life."

"That might as well be true." Anik said, having had the same thoughts herself before. "But well, if there is ultimately no purpose in life, why not create such a purpose yourself?

Ah, nevermind, I don't know what I'm talking about anymore."

She finished her meat, then laid herself on the ground, her hand behind her head, listening to Timea preparing her own meal.

Palladein - Day 7 - ~02:00

The citizen Quan Chi approached shrugged, then said, "Nobody's completely sure. All we know is that the head priest and priestess boarded it up and left the city a few days ago. I suppose we don't really need it any more, though, so it's not much of a loss..." His voice trailed off, the tone obviously having a hint of sadness in it.

"Really? Where?" the guard asked.

Vala - Day 8 - 15:42

Robin would not have his armour, or his tome, taken from him. After a couple of minutes, two guards returned, taking the weapons and leading the group into the northern ward. Unlike the guards at the gate, these two were much more relaxed, possibly due to the Vesh'Rah having been disarmed and stripped of their sky-metal.

"What happened here?" Quan Chi asked.

Femesh Daer, day 7, 25:36
"Around the other cities. They're strange, but his inventions seem to work brilliantly."

Vala, day 8, 15:42
Robin was grateful he still had some combat ability just in case, though with the relaxed and seemingly friendly guards, he smiled a bit as he thought he wouldn't need it.

Utarra Area - Day 8 - 20:38

"It's too late in the day to discuss philosophy, hmm?" Timea asked, with a small chuckle.

After, she continued preparing herself and eating her meal, taking some two and a half hours.

Utarra - Day 8 - 23:23

When she finished with her meal, Timea walked into Utarra city proper after a fifteen minute walk. "Let's hope there is still someone at the docks, around this time", she said to Anik as she began walking towards the docks, speaking with a hushed tone so to not wake Hillary, who Timea was carrying bridal style.

"Yes. Well, it's a port, so probably, but we can't be sure." Anik answered, walking next to Timea. Knowing the city a little already, she had not put on her veil, and was navigating through her clicking sounds, having left her bag and cane back at the resting place.

Her body was visibly a little bit tense from walking around so many people, but other than that she did try not to show that it was affecting her.

Utarra - Day 8 - 23:28

Looking to Anik, Timea noticed Anik tenseness, and wondered more what had changed to make her anxieties worsen like they had. Already having planned to ask about her feelings in the morning, she put the thoughts aside, and moved on.

When she reached the docks after some five minutes of walking, Timea looked around to see if anyone was present there.

The citizen looked incredibly confused by the question and said, "The... the sun god died. How did you not know that?"

Utarra - Day 8 - 23:28

Timea would find a handful of people unloading ships at the docks, however none were loading them and they all seemed to be staying put in the water rather than preparing to leave. She would also, likely, note the lack of people in the streets and small number of lights in the residences, suggesting few people were awake.

Utarra - Day 8 - 23:28

"I see some people there. They seem to be finishing their work, so we came just in time", Timea mentioned to Anik, heading towards the dockworkers she saw.

Approaching them, Timea, still with a hushed voice, called out, "excuse me?"

Anik followed Timea, reading the hearts of the people around, wondering if any of them had the same amount of fear as the people in Utarranna did have.

Cybil remained alert even after her weapon was taken. With everyone else in the party but Robin still obviously on edge, it seemed the prudent thing to do. She continued following the diplomats.

Utarra - Day 8 - 23:28

One of the workers looked down at Timea from the ship and asked, "What is it?" He did not care as much about keeping quiet as Timea seemed to, since he spoke at a normal volume.

Anik would sense less fear in the hearts of the people of Utarra, but their was still some present. If the range on her sense was great enough, she might notice the hearts in the shrine had gone since she was last in the city. She would also likely notice that most of the ship workers' hearts were Kaisiri, though some were Vesh'Rah.

Utarra - Day 8 - 23:29

Stopping a few paces away from the wooden gangways, Timea looked up at the dock worker from where she stood. "When is the next ship to Femesh Daer due to set sail?" she asked, speaking somewhat louder than she was before, but still not at normal speaking levels.

"In the morning, as far as I'm aware." the worker responded. He then paused, glancing up at the starry night sky, before continuing, "So... four hours, at least."

Palladien, day 7, 2:00
"I did not. But thank you for telling me." Quan Chi left, thinking this over, and with little else of note in Palladien he exited the city. "What other cities are nearby?" he asked Shara.

Femesh Daer, day 8, 15:43
Robin looked to Cybil, noting she was still tense and ready to go. He stopped relaxing, examining the guards and surroundings just in case of a fight.

Utarra - Day 8 - 23:29

"I see. Thank you", Timea answered, happy she wouldn't need to wait several days for a ship. She thought for a moment, looking the dockworkers she saw over, then asked, "One more thing; What is the general opinion of the Kaisiri with the Vesh'Rah? I'd thought only Calibethians were thought of unfavourably, but in the East, opinions on Kaisir seemed to be just as bad, if not worse."

Utarra - Day 8 - 23:29

Anik listened to the conversation, finally chiming in: "Are there more ships later in the day, or should we best head back here in four hours?"

When Timea asked her next thing, she listened more carefully, interested in this as well.

Vala - Day 8 - 15:45

The group was led into the northern part of the city, and then inside the central building. The Vesh'Rah diplomats went inside a room, leaving Cybil, Robin and the Vesh'Rah and Calibethan guards outside.

Utarra - 23:29

"It depends what part of the east it is. Utaranna got destroyed by Kaisiri mercenaries a few times, so some of the people there aren't very happy about it. In general, though, they don't mind Kaisir." the worker replied, before saying to Anik, "Typically, they leave later in the day, yes."
