Mt. Faotar - Day 11 - 16:18​

Timea's eyes darted around looking up at the mountain, taking in the details along the mountain wall.

"I do", she answered once she looked the mountain over, but kept looking up. "There are two viable ways to climb: One would require less effort to climb, but does have more snow and ice on it. The second, would be along more vertical walls.

I think the second option would ultimately prove to be the safer one, as I'm not sure the ice could hold my weight."

Looking down, Timea turned to Anik. "We could, of course, also take the third option, and fly up there. This would mean someone will have to wait here, until I dropped either you or Hillary off inside the caverns. But, while climbing, we would also be an easy target, if we're attacked. All things considered, I think this is the best option."

[color=9f2089]"Was that supposed to be a statement of something I don't already know?"[/color] Cybil replied rhetorically.

Mt. Faotar - Day 11 - 16:18

Anik thought over the things Timea had relayed to her, finally answering: "I think I will be able to deal with the climbing. And I have good equipment. So, I trust you to choose the better option

... not that I really would have any say in the matter."

She frowned when Timea stated the third option. "No, I think climbing is the better option. Neither of us should be alone for a long time. And I don't really think someone could shoot as far as we would be high up. Let us take the second option. Just ... let us walk to the start of the path, then I hope we can wrap the rope around ourselves, so I am safe not to fall."

Vala, day 10, 18:08
Robin began walking away from the cell, motioning for Cybil to follow. "Shara's under some kind of enchantment. It forces her to obey the one that cast it on her, makes her angrier, and keeps her body running without food, sleep or shelter." he explained as they went. "I think she's become a zombie of some kind. Breaking it requires... Dire circumstances."

Mt. Faotar - Day 11 - 16:18​

"Hmm... It wouldn't be impossible to shoot all the way to the cavern. Perhaps not accurately, but still. More over, we could be attacked while we're not all that high up", Timea countered. "But, whoever would stay on the ground would be just as vulnerable, so I suppose it would not make a big difference."

After saying this, Timea paused, letting go of one of the carcass' legs, and moving it to her front, then growing a pair of bat-like wings from her back. "We'll climb, then. If you begin tying one and of the rope around you, and prepare your climbing equipment, I'll fly this to a spot on the mountain where it'll be safe. We'll get started, after that."

While saying "this", she tapped the leg of the carcass, to indicate what she meant.

Mt. Faotar - Day 11 - 16:18

Anik nodded when Timea spoke, having meant exactly that. She first was confused by what Timea meant by "this", but connected the hints soon enough. "Alright." she said. "I'll be done quickly."

With that, she placed her things on the ground, then felt inside the pack for climbing gear, first taking out the climbing boots, starting to put them on. After that, she would tie the rope around her waist, with several knots, so she felt secure. At the end, she put on her gloves, and took the ice axe in her hand, waiting for Timea to come back.

Mt. Faotar - Day 11 - 16:24​

With Anik preparing to get ready, Timea ran for a couple of paces, flapping her wings progressively stronger as she went. Taking flight, Timea ascended, moving up the mountain, going at a rather high speed, so to spend as little time as possible flying. Moving to a spot that was either relatively flat, or something the carcass could stick behind, Timea dropped it, then flew back down.

Landing near Anik five minutes after taking off, Timea walked over to Anik, having the wings sink back into her back. "Right. It should be safe from predators, there." Reaching Anik, Timea took the other end of the rope, bending through her knees to pick it up, if it was on the ground.

"Is that secure?" Timea then asked, looking down to the knot tying the rope around Anik, tugging at the rope a little.

 

[Silence]

Mt. Faotar - Day 11 - 16:24

Anik smiled when Timea got back, then answered, when she tugged the rope: "It should be. At least I hope so. I don't know if there is a better way to do it, but how I did it, this should hold a lot, already. ... I guess the question is not if the knots hold, but if this prevents me from toppling over or something. Still, I don't plan on falling, so this should not be too bad."

Robin took a deep breath, making sure they were out of earshot of the cell. "It requires someone else to go through the same process as her. I found a weak spot in the spell. It works by snatching the blood and soul of the dying or recently dead. If someone else is being... enchanted by it, it's possible to interrupt that, make it backfire and bring all those under that curse back to life. But that requires a skilled mage to interrupt the spell, a fighter to knock out the one casting it, and someone willing to risk their life and soul to act as the sacrifice that starts the spell." Robin grimaced. "And honestly, I'm not sure I even got all that right..."

Mt. Faotar - Day 11 - 16:24​

Not wanting her "dress" to catch the wind while climbing, Timea had it sink into her body. Thinking someone might see her while she climbed the mountain, and not wanting to draw attention by appearing nude, she made her skin white from the neck down. She didn't bother to give the "clothing" anything other than a smooth texture, thinking this was unlikely to be noticed.

With this done, Timea wrapped the rope around her waist, and looked to the knot on Anik's end once more. "We should move away from one another once I've tied it, to see how well it holds. Just to be safe", she stated, beginning to tie a knot, herself.

finishing after a minute, Timea looked at her knot blankly, it not matching Anik's. "I... don't think I've done that right. Let's try this again." Untying the know, she went about laying the knot in it again, pausing to look to Anik's knot at every step.

[color=9f2089]"So you want us to sacrifice someone, on the off chance your theory about this weird magic is correct."[/color] Cybil replied in deadpan with half-lidded eyes. [color=9f2089]"That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard."[/color]

"I won't go through with this until I'm sure. This is all I know right now. Just... From what I saw, that spell is horrible. I don't want to see anyone have to "live" with that." Robin clarified.

[color=9f2089]"If you say so."[/color] Cybil said with a shrug. [color=9f2089]"Frankly it seems a lot smarter and easier if we just caught that bald freak. Tighten the screws enough, and I'm sure he'll give up and reverse the spell himself."[/color]

"Sure." Anik stated, and waited for Timea to tie her knot. She looked kind of curious when Timea stated that she had not done it correctly. "If you don't manage to do it right this time, maybe I can tie the knot for you." she said, while Timea was trying her second attempt.

"Maybe. I think I'm getting there, however."

After a few moments more of fiddling, Timea finished tying the knot. She lightly tugged on it, finding it didn't come loose. "That seems to have done the trick. Now, let's see if both ends will hold properly." With this said, Timea began walking backwards.

Mt. Faotar - Day 11 - 16:25

"Hmm." Anik made, not being able to judge it. "Alright, let's try." So Anik walked backwards as well, in the opposite direction of Timea, until she felt the rope was strained. She then let herself fall slightly backwards, trusting that the knots would hold and she would therefore not fall over.

Mt. Faotar - Day 11 - 16:26​

When the rope was strained, Timea stopped moving. She didn't lean backwards, to not pull Anik did, but did tug on the rope, away from herself. "Okay! That seems to have done it, nicely!" she called out, with a slightly raised voice. "Let's start climbing."

With this said, Timea began approaching the site she deemed was a good place to start the climb.

Mt. Faotar - Day 11 - 16:26

"Nice!" Anik said. "We can start climbing ... but it's best I leave my bag and cane here. Do you see a spot where they are reasonably protected? Or ... at least the cane. Maybe you could carry the bag somehow?" she added, while following Timea - not really having any choice in the matter anyways, as she would be pulled when walking away.

"I'll also be carrying Hillary, so, no. I won't really be able to do that", Timea stated as she walked. "But, I can fly you up to the spot I left the food, if you'd like. That shouldn't take too much time. If not that, you can just leave them on the ground, and cover the bag with some rocks."
