Mt. Faotar - Day 11 - 16:26

"Hmm..." Anik thought. "Well - it's probably protected a lot better where you have put the food. So flying me there shortly should do the trick. I'll just leave this here." With that, she placed the axe on the ground, then made herself ready to be flown by Timea, grabbing bag and cane tightly.

"Ready."

Mt. Faotar - Day 11 - 16:28

"Okay then." Stopping, Timea stepped over to Anik, and moved behind her. She then snapped her fingers, and bended through her knees to put her on the same height as Anik. She then hooked her arms under Anik's armpits, crossing them over Anik's chest, and holding her shoulders. With this done, Timea rose back up to her full height, lifting Anik up with her, and had a leather band grow from her sides, making it cover Anik's waist.

With Anik secured, Timea said, "Off we go, then!" and grew a pair of bat-like wings from her back. With a running start, she took flight, and flew up to the place where she had left the carcass, taking a little over two minutes.

Flying close to the rocky surface, Timea said, "Okay, get ready to drop your belongings."

Mt. Faotar - Day 11 - 16:28

Anik let Timea do what she did, curious about the different way she was carrying her this time. She got a good shaking from the running start, but enjoyed it nonetheless, feeling secure.

When Timea announced that she should drop her belongings, Anik made herself ready, but still asked: "You don't land? I should just drop them ...? You have to very precise to when, then."

Mt. Faotar - Day 11 - 16:28

"There isn't really any place for me to land, it's too steep", Timea explained.

She beat her wings to gain a little height, then held them still, tilting them forwards a little to slow down. When nearing the spot, Timea began counting down. "One... , two... . Now."

Mt. Faotar - Day 11 - 16:28

Anik immediately let go of her belongings at "Now", not wanting to risk anything going wrong. Hearing the muffled sound of the impact of her things on the cliff face, she asked, slightly worried:

"Did it land? And it isn't at a risk of falling further down?"

Mt. Faotar - Day 11 - 16:31

While soaring over the spot, Timea looked over her shouldder, seeing the bag and cane laying on the rock. "It did. And barring strong winds, it should stay up there, just fine", Timea answering.

Moving the fingers of right wing, the air current flowing under the wing lead Timea to begin to soar away from the mountain wall, again.

Another two minutes after dropping the belongings, Timea drew closer to the ground. "We're about to land! Brace yourself." With the announcement made, Timea flapped her wings more strongly to slow down more, and lessen the landing impact. Touching down, Timea moved two running steps, then came to a halt. "And there we go~"

Bending through her knees again, Timea released Anik.

Mt. Faotar - Day 11 - 16:31

Relieved, Anik let herself be carried back by Timea. As she announced they were about to land, Anik tried to relax herself a little bit, to lessen the impact, but pretty much being tied to Timea, this was not necessary.

When she was released, Anik shook all of her limbs, to get the stiffness out of them, then smiled and said: "I think now we are ready. Umm ... have you seen my axe? I'll just need it, then you can start climbing.
How long do you think we would take?"

Mt. Faotar - Day 11 - 16:31

After releasing Anik, Timea had the wings and strap sink back into her body.

With Anik asking for where the axe was, Timea cast a quick glance at the area, spotting the axe. "We'll be taking a while, it's a long climb. Coming and going, we'll probably be busy for a good portion of the day", she answered as she walked. Reaching the axe, Timea tapped her foot nearby. "Your axe is here, by the way."

While waiting for Anik to pick it up, Timea bended through her knees, and instructed Hillary to climb on to her back. Once she was on, Timea had leathery straps form around Hillary, around her thighs, and one around the waist, forming a harness.

With this done, Timea moved over to the mountain face, and had short but very sharp talons from from her fingertips, and gave the palms of her hands the same texture she would have in her dragon form, for better grip. Then, Timea began climbing, hooking the talons into the stone, and pulling herself up, placing down her feet, and repeating the process.

Mountain - Day 11 - 16:31

As Timea and Anik began climbing, Timea would see a number of rocks and cracks that were somewhat more worn down than others. Due to their proximity to one another, she might assume that the wear was due to people repeatedly grabbing or stepping onto the rocks, and artificially making cracks larger to serve as places to grip. A single, well-defined path up wouldn't be present, due to some rocks being worn down too much, or cracks filling with ice, making them unusable.

Mt. Faotar - Day 11 - 16:31

"At least I can't get a fear of heights." Anik joked, and walked over to where Timea tapped her foot. picking up the axe and attaching the strap to her wrist. Waiting for Timea to get a certain height, Anik followed suit, for now, as there was no ice, but only stone, not using the axe, instead feeling for good placed to hold on to with her fingers.

Remembering the best technique to climb, she shifted most of her weight to the backside, to distribute the strain in her arms and legs evenly. This way, and keeping it this way, unless she found a spot where she could kind of stand on, she climbed upwards, always taking a lot more time than Timea for every step, as she had to feel for a good place to put her hands on above her.

Soon enough, as she was not able to feel a good spot with her fingers, and later, as the amount of ice on the cliff increased, Anik used her axe, to get a better method of holding on. As she did not really have to feel for a good spot to place the fingers of one hand, she actually did not lose time by switching to this technique, even though picking into the rock and managing to get the axe lose again took some time, as well.

Anik did not talk while climbing, the feeling for the right spots and the climbing itself taking far too much concentration. After about four and a half hours, they were close to the entrance to the caverns.

Mt. Faotar, Caverns - Day 11 - 21:00

Two hours into the climb, Timea began feeling peckish, and after three, quite hungry. She did her best to not get the hunger distract her too much, pushing through it, although it did slow her climbing prowess down some. She wasn't bothered by what wind might blow, any winds stronger than a strong gust partially bending around her, in a way similar to what happens when she flies.

When reaching the mouth of the caverns, Timea pulled herself up, and over the edge. There, she looked around to see what the caverns looked like, and what would be the best way to get down.

Pushing herself over the edge, Anik arrived at the entrance to the caverns as well. She just lay down, panting heavily. After doing this for about a minute, she got up, listened if there were any sounds coming out of the cavern, then clicked and even shouted in their direction, to hear the echo.

Timea would see the cavern was quite large, in diameter, and sloped downwards into the rock. The incline would be gentle enough that she could simply walk in with little trouble, and that walking out would be just as easy. Anik, by listening to the echoes, would most likely learn the same thing. Both of them would also smell wolves within, the scent being quite strong, and Anik would sense a powerful heart. The heart would be less powerful than that of Atarakka Sula'Rah, but not by much. and was similar to it in a number of ways.

Not feeling very strained after all, mostly due to her new endurance, Anik slowly stepped inside the caverns, although waiting for Timea to follow her.

"We have certainly come to the right place." she announced. "I can sense Faotars heart.

I hope he and ... the wolves ... will be friendly enough."

Mountain - Day 11 - 21:00

Seeing the path down wasn't very steep at all, Timea was relieved. While not tired from the climb, the thought of doing more strenuous activities without first getting some food in her stomach didn't thrill her.

"Other wolves, indeed. I wasn't expecting a pack to live here, too", Timea stated, beginning to walk further into the caverns, not long after Anik moved in. She then, in a lowered voice, said, "I ate a wolf, not too long ago. I hope Faotar shares my view on the cycle of life." She let out a small, soft chuckle, then continued speaking at normal speaking levels.

"Either way, the way down isn't very steep at all, nor are there any pointy rocks jutting upwards. We can just walk down, without a problem."

"From what the people in the church of Faotar told me I would guess that he would not be too mad." Anik said, carefully cheerful. "I know." she added. "I can ... see pretty well in here. I like this place already."

With that, after having sensed that Timea was following her, she continued on the path, heading straight for the heart she felt, and clicking, therefore getting a pretty good picture of the caverns in her mind.

Mountain - Day 11 - 21:02

After walking downwards for a couple of minutes, Anik and Timea would come across a larger area of the cave. Sitting, curled up, at the far end was an enormous grey wolf, with its head resting on its front paws. Its eyes followed Timea and Anik, glowing brightly. Around the edges were more wolves, some of them eating fresh meat. The large wolf sniffed the air, staring at Timea curiously as it did so.

"Ah, I see how you would", Timea said cheerily, walking closer to Anik. "Well, I can still see fairly well, this close to the entrance, with the moonlight shining in. But, once we go down into the depths more, I suppose you'll have to be my guide, hmm~?"

With this said, Timea snapped her fingers, and placed her hand on Anik's shoulder, walking close by. She knew she could just shine her sunlight around to navigate the caverns, but figured it would be good for Anik to let her do something to feel more accomplished about.

Mt. Faotar, Caverns - Day 11 - 21:02

Seeing the glowing eyes as the wolf opened them, Timea tilted her head to the side a little, looking back at them. With them being the only lighting, she couldn't make out the features of the wolf, but made an estimate that he was quite large, indeed.

"Faotar, I presume?" she called out.

Smelling the meat, Timea felt her mouth water, it not helping in stilling her hunger.

Anik, still clicking, got a pretty good picture of the huge wolf, and, as Timea asked Faotar, made a bow towards him, slightly wondering if another, more wolf-like gesture, would be better for him.

Still, she smiled, despite standing before a wolf, and said: "Greetings. We have come to ask you a few questions, about you and other gods. May we?"
