Running her fingers through the sand, Anik may find the even-toed tracks, left by the ram, which were some ten metres to Timea's right. The rest however, were small, which made it a high possibility that Anik couldn't distinguish them from the lines in the sand made by the wind.

"There wouldn't be much use for you to learn to distinguish tracks, no. There is the fact that you couldn't see where they start and end, but also, to follow them, you would need to move on all fours, which would not be effective at all", Timea explained. "No, you'll need to be with a fellow hunter to spot them. Which is fine. To catch the prey large enough to feed several people, it would be best to have someone with you, regardless. So you can flank the prey, like we did with your last."

With this said, Timea paused. "With that said, let's go track the prey you can sense. I'll follow your lead."

Vala, Jail Cell - Day 11, 10:42

"I need to get to the bottom of the ocean somehow ..." Speedy mused. "But so it isn't just speed? Or does the hyperdrive just open a rift in space with very fast speed?
... I wonder how hyperspace looks. I have all safety concerns in mind though!"

He thought for a few seconds, then said: "I just have to know how to build one ... then I can try it out. But for you: Is there something I could do for you? Like ... distracting this Quan Chi or something so you can get back to normal? Robin has a plan."

Vala Area - Day 14 - 8:38

"Hmm." Anik made, dissatisfied. "Alright, I guess I would try to hunt with someone, if I would do it for several people ... people would find that odd, a blind huntress." This made Anik chuckle a little, and feel better. "I could not teach someone else, though ..."

With that, Anik got up, and started to walk westwards. "This kind of tracking feels odd, somehow. I hope I am not mistaking the size of the animal." she said, while doing so.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 8:40​

Timea wanted to say she was impressed with Anik's hunting prowess, even with her disability. But with Anik having voiced displeasure at a similar compliment before, limited it to cheerily saying, "who knows? They might just be impressed by it."

Followed behind Anik, Timea looked to her, and checked if she remembered to take the direction of the wind into account. "How large do you think it is?"

 

[Silence]

Vala Area - Day 14 - 8:40

"Hmm ... maybe as big as my head?" Anik said, not really sure. "What could it be? Hares, like I caught before, or some other rodent? I don't know what else is there. I doubt it would be a cat, out here, and it does not seem to be a bird, as it does stay on the ground." she speculated.

As long as the animals were not moving away, Anik did forget to remember the direction of the wind, even though she felt it on her face.

"I actually did not want to tell you his plan." Speedy stated, in a serious tone of voice. "I know that it could affect things. I just thought I'd give you a little hope.

But ... that's not good. I don't think I know the coordinates of my world in hyperspace. It's actually kind of bad. ... Is there something like just jumping through into the unknown, and then being able to get something like a wire to pull you back if you don't like where you've arrived?"

"That's a good educated guess. It's a hare, yes", Timea confirmed. "I can see it's tracks. I can only faintly smell it from here, however. But speaking of smells; Remember to take the direction of the wind into account. If he smells you, he'll probably be spooked, and run off."

With this said, Timea paused before continuing. "There is also a snake nearby. This would be easier to catch, but also more risky."

Vala Area - Day 14 - 8:40

"Oh. Right." Anik said, first smiling because she had guessed correctly. She put a finger in her mouth, made it slightly wet, then held it out to feel the direction of the wind. If it was going from her in the animals direction, she would stop and wait for it to change.

When Timea announced there was a snake, however, Anik stopped, turned her head several times between both of the hearts, then said, frowning: "I don't want to catch the snake. But I don't know which one is the hare, and which one is the snake. Hmm ... I could probably find out if they were moving, but they are not, right now."

While Quan Chi was distracted by the ice sorcerer, the archers shot another volley towards Quan Chi, which the other sorcerer would follow with a gust of wind, intending to send Quan Chi flying backwards. The ice sorcerer did, indeed, jump off the boat and into the water, at Quan Chi's command.

I'm not sure what happened or why I got here, but I know this isn't the universe that I'm from. I have no idea how you'd reliably travel between dimensions. I've hopped dimensions twice, the last two times I jumped to hyperspace. But I've done hundreds or thousands of hyperspace jumps before without issue. As for doing a blind jump, well... It is possible, but you have to be very lucky or you'll be very dead. But this is all theoretical, my ship is at the bottom of the ocean. How would a little guy like you lift one hundred and fifty tons from there to land?"[/color]

Vala Area - Day 14 - 8:42​

Feeling for the direction of the wind, Anik would find it from from the south-east, which would carry her and Timea's scent towards the prey. It would change be be more southern, in three minutes.

"Well, we'll find out which is which, soon enough."

In the three minutes, Anik would sense the hearts moving. That of the hare moved only a little, staying in the same general area. The snake, however, moved more quickly, and towards the hare.

"There has to be something like dimension coordinates as well!" Speedy announced. "And if not, I should invent them!
At least I know that it is theoretically possible with the hyperspace, and this is a lot to go on already. And it's very interesting that you did so many but only twice got into other dimensions."
He thought quickly. "Blind hyperjump is not ideal ... I would need some heavy protection."

He chuckled a little: "Of course I can't lift one hundred and fifty tons from there! What I would want to do, would just be inspecting you ship, seeing how the warp engine works. Then I could build it in very little, to explore dimensions, and then I could get someone a plan for a bigger ship, and the coordinates, and then you could travel as well!
And inspecting your ship would be very good, maybe I could even find the glitch in the system, which did a dimension jump instead of a normal hyperjump!"

Vala Area - Day 14 - 8:42

"Alright. We have to wait a little, anyways." Anik said.

Sensing the hearts move, Anik realized quickly that the one moving more was doing something like slithering, while the other one, even though it was not moving as much, was doing more of and up-and-down movement if it did.

She said, pointing, even though the pointing was not exactly precise: "This is the snake." In this moment, she however realized what was happening. She got up, fast. "I think the snake wants to catch the hare. We should hurry! ... Should we hurry? I don't know what to do!"

Vala Area - Day 14 - 8:44​

Not able to smell the animals really well from where she and Anik, Timea couldn't deduce the snake was moving towards the rabbit, but knowing both were fairly close to one another, it was a thought in the back of her head. She also considered staying put and waiting for the wind to change an inefficient tactic. But, with there not being a very big risk of losing a meal, didn't comment on it, instead letting Anik learn from experience.

"We should move on before the snake beats you to it, yes. But remember - "haste makes waste". Don't just go rushing in to things. Move at a steady pace, minding the wind. Slow down when closing in on your prey."

 

[Silence]

Vala Area - Day 14 - 8:44

"Alright." Anik said, not very happy about it. "I hope I'm fast enough ..."

With that, she started to walk closer to the two hearts, in some kind of fast crawling pace. She had the wind on her mind constantly, but also the worry about the snake getting the hare before her.

Coming close, she listened to what was happening as well as sensing the hearts.

But I'm curious, where would you get the materials to build a spaceship? Let alone a hyperdrive? And how do you plan to find my ship?"[/color]

"Well ..." Speedy hesitated, then continued: "Maybe I'll get the materials from where this mean guy Yeager has his materials from! But how I plan to find your ship ... that's a problem. You crashed before Kaisir, right? Near where we all arrived? But how far out in the ocean..."

Vala Area - Day 14 - 8:44​

Moving closer to the animals, Timea began picking up on their scents, and began tracking their locations through it. When close by, Timea had the fire blanket covered by a layer of hide, so the glare of the fire wouldn't her and Anik give away.

Paying attention to how the hearts move, Anik would sense that of the hare eventually moving away quickly, as it had spotted the snake. The snake chased after it, but wasn't as fast; the hare able to out-run it without much trouble.

"Hmm. I think the hare ran. What do you think you should do, now?" Timea asked, tracking the movements.

"Umm ... keep on going after it? Just ... more careful then before? Or is the hare now so cautious that it will run immediately?" Anik asked, unsure.
