Vala Area - Day 14 - 8:53

"Keep chasing the one!" Anik called back, when she had brought enough air into her lungs. She wondered about the other hare as well, but saw no reason to change what she was doing, not knowing how in what form the other animal was.

She kept on running, while closing the distance, falling further back behind the other two animals. While doing so, she closed in to a small field of larger rocks, like the one where she had stored her bags, unsuspecting that she was approaching it.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 8:53​

Keeping on the chase, Timea cast another brief glance towards Anik, noticing the obstacles she was heading towards. "Rocks ahead! Go around it! Start heading to your left, wide angle!" she called out, looking back straight ahead. She started to pick up on the scent of Anik's blood from her leg, but with Anik seeming fine, didn't stop the chase.

The rabbit kept its distance, not showing any signs of tiring either. It also seemed to look at Timea judgingly.

As Timea called out, Anik shortly considered if she should stop, but as Timea had said nothing of the sort, instead started to change her course, so she would do a wide angle. Keeping up the run, she did feel no pain in her leg at this point.

When she guessed that she had missed the rocks, she changed her course again, so it would go directly behind the rabbit and hare.

With Timeas help, she was able to keep the chase up for as long as it took until either the hare had outrun them, or until it was tiring.

After successfully guiding Anik around the rock field, Timea glanced towards the rabbit, finding it progressively more weird. Opening her maw, she let out a small hiss, but didn't let up on chasing the hare.

She also kept on the look out for more obstacles, and would guide Anik around it in curt messages.

Vala Area - Day 14 - ~9:10​

Some 20 minutes after the hare began running, it started to rapidly lose speed, tired, and close to over-heating. Unless interfered with before that point, Timea would close in on the hare, and drive it closer to Anik, allowing her to catch it without too much trouble.

The rabbit grunted in a hostile manner, and as the now distant hare began to tire the rabbit became even more irate and even closed the distance to fifteen metres, pulling ahead of Timea slightly. Despite matching Timea's speed the entire time, the rabbit still seemed quite fresh.

Vala Area - Day 14 - ~9:10

Running after the hare the whole time, Anik could still sense it when it slowed down. Her own adrenaline was wearing off, and her lower left leg began to hurt throbbingly. Still, she limped on, and when Timea drove the hare closer to her, she prepared to catch it.

Sensing the other rabbit however, she wondered about what this one wanted. Still, she did not stop, instead turning her head towards the rabbit while moving, and murmuring towards it, more to herself: "Now what do you want?"

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:10​

While the hare began to tire, Timea kept running at her full speed, to give the hare as little time to recover as possible, even if she felt a little sorry for the hare in doing so.

She continued being weirded out by the rabbit, especially now that it showed it could match her speed for the amount of time, even with its plump build. She also noted it seemed to protect its kin, but didn't let it deter her.

Chasing the hare to Anik, Timea called out, "incoming! Prepare to catch it!"

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:10

Sensing the hare come closer to it, Anik prepared to jump on it. With it not going very fast, she did manage quite well. Taking the rabbit in the air, while she herself kneeled on the ground, Anik felt the fur with the fingers in one hand, to get it by the neck, while it was struggling.

When she had the right position, she snapped the neck of the hare, after quietly saying "Sorry" to it.

She then sat herself on the ground, still feeling more along the rabbits fur, placing her leg in a relieving posture, and clenching her teeth because of the pain it caused her.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:11​

With Anik diving on to, and capturing the hare, Timea gradually slowed down until she was at a walking pace that was normal for a lioness. She watched Anik taking the hare up, and prepared to kill it, watching if she used the proper technique, staying quiet seeing she did.

Stopping a few paces away from Anik, Timea sat down, paying silent respect to the hare. "He put up ever such resistance, didn't he?" Timea commented, phrasing it like a statement. The prolonged sprint left her breathing a little heavier than usual, but not by much.

Shortly after speaking, Timea looked down at Anik's leg, speaking with more concerned. "But your leg... . Did you hit something during the chase?"

While speaking, Timea cast the occasional glance to the rabbit.

Vala Area - Day 14
The rabbit jumped around only ten metres away, agitated and frequently stomping the ground. Finally, it snarled at Anik and Timea as the hare died. It then turned and left, quickly fading into the distance.

 

[Silence]

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:11

"Yes, he did." Anik answered, regardless if the question was phased like a statement. She was not out of breath, with the time sitting and the endurance blessing, but she spoke through slightly clenched teeth.

"Yes, I stumbled over a rock or something." Anik added, not feeling great about it. "Does it look bad? It hurts like hell." she added, unhappily.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:11​

"One moment... ", Timea said with a somewhat lowered voice, as she looked at the rabbit. With the rabbit thrashing around and snarling, Timea rose to her feline feet, and bended through her knees, letting out a growl at the rabbit, getting very suspicious of it. She continued growling, until the rabbit hopped away and out of sight.

Snorting, she walked back by four paces, and shifted the layer of hide that was covering the blanket away, letting it drop to the ground. She then reverted back to her default form, and stepped back to Anik. "Okay. Let's take a look."

With her right hand, she took hold of the bottom of the leg of Anik's pants, and gently pulled it up, looking over the wound while she did. With her free hand, she began scratching her chest and stomach; the blanket rubbing against while she ran having made her itchy.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:11

Anik wanted to ask what the deal was with the other rabbit, but not feeling like speaking much, kept quiet.

When Timea pulled up the pants, Anik took a breath through her clenched teeth, the feeling not being pleasant, it ripping away at some dried blood.

She would see that it was "just" a bruise and a scratch, although it basically covered her whole lower leg. It would look like Aniks lower leg had turned blue on the front side. The scratch was not very deep, it "only" having ripped away a little bit of her skin below the knee. Anik basically having kicked against a rock with her shin with most of her strength, she was quite lucky that it had not affected the bone or some more tendons.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:12​

"Hmm. Well, good news. While it's large, it doesn't really look like it's anything bad", Timea reported, looking the, looking the scratch and bruise over. "It will recover just fine on its own, and doesn't really require anything on my part. The area will start to smell soon, making it more sensitive, but there shouldn't be anything that will cause issues."

With this said, Timea was quiet for a moment, remembering her last mis-diagnosis, frowning at the memory. "... But should it get worse somehow, just let me know. Oh, and you should roll up the leg sleeve until a crust forms, however. So it doesn't agitate the scab."

 

[Silence]

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:12

"It does hurt bad, though." Anik moaned, even though she was relieved hearing this from Timea. "Alright. Recovering on its own ..." she added, feeling slightly disappointed that she would not get the Timea treatment.

"I will tell you. Although you probably will see for yourself when my leg falls off or something." she added jokingly. With that, she rolled up the leg sleeve as Timea had said, freezing a little, but for now kind of glad that the wound got some air.

With that, she took the dead hare by its neck, and started to stand up, taking some time while she was trying to ease the pain. Then, she said: "Now, should we go back to my bag? I have no idea where we even are now, and what is in what direction." and began clicking, even though this did not help too much in the plains.

Timea bit her lip a little at Anik's joke, feeling a little embarrassed.

When Anik stood up, Timea snapped her fingers, and took hold of Anik's hand, to support her weight while she got up. When Anik was on her feet, Timea stepped back to her blanket, picking it up. When Anik asked what to do, Timea began to say, "we are... ", she trailed off, looking around the area, following the footprints left in the sand. "far away. It'll be no problem to find our way back, however.

Would you like to ride my shoulders, on the way?"

 

[Silence]

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:13

Anik was glad of the help she got for standing up, smiling to Timea as she did so.

She just wondered how she would be able to walk such a distance with her bad leg, when Timea offered her to ride on her shoulders. Glad, Anik answered: "Yes, I would like to! ... but you help me a up a bit this time?"

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:13​

Hearing Anik's enthusiasm, Timea smiled a little. "Hmm. I can do this, yes. Spread your legs", she instructed. While waiting for Anik to do so, Timea placed the blanket against the front of her body, and covered it again. After this, she stepped back to Anik.

Snapping her fingers, Timea bended through her knees, and stuck her head in-between Anik's legs from behind, then took hold of the front of her thighs. "Okay, up you go. Hold on, now~" With the announcement made, Timea rose to her full height. Waiting for Anik to adjust her sitting position if she, Timea began retracing her steps, thereafter.
