Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:13

Anik hesitated for a second, slightly irritated by the manner of speech, but then did as told, spreading her legs.

When Timea lifted her up, Anik made a little "wee" happily, although it changed to an "oww" in between, so it sounded something like "weeowweee". After Timea had stood up completely, Anik placed her arms on Timeas head, so Timea would not need to steady her at rather unfortunate places. In one hand, she still held the hare.

While Timea was walking, Anik occasionally made "ow", when Timea took a heavier step, but otherwise did not complain. After a while, she put her head on the arms she had put on Timeas head.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:14​

Timea noticed Anik hesitating, which made her grin a little, realising the unintentional innuendo she made, and feeling a little amused by the reaction it got from Anik.

Hearing Anik let out an "ow" every now and again, Timea took care to make her steps more gently so to not make for a more gently ride. After a short while, Timea's stomach growled, getting more hungry, having a scent of blood so close to her nose not helping in that regard. "Hmm. For the sake of having a timely dinner, it would be better if I flew you back, actually", Timea mused. "I'm ever so hungry."

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:14

"Alright." Anik said, not minding this at all, thinking it might even be easier on her leg. "Do I need to switch my position or get off, shortly?"

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:14​

With Anik agreeing to the idea, Timea stopped, and crouched down. "Get off for a moment, yes", she confirmed, and lowered her shoulders to the ground as much as she could to make this easier for Anik.

Once Anik got off, Timea rose to her full height again, and had a pair of brown-feathered wings grow from her back. "Flying you safely in my bird form wouldn't be terrific for your leg, so I'll carry you by the arms, again", she announced.

Stepping behind Anik, Timea hooked her arms under Anik's shoulders and crossed them, taking hold of Anik's shoulders, and having a leathery strap extend from her sides, and cover Anik's waist for added safety. "Ready?"

Lestha, day 11, 21:08
After a lengthy battle, Quan Chi had finished murdering the mercenaries on the boat, but not without taking a few hits himself. He made another portal on the deck, dragging their corpses through to his camp and resurrecting them one by one.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:14

"Alright." With that, Anik got off, clenching her teeth as she placed her left foot on the ground.

She waited for Timea to hook her arms, mostly standing on her right leg while easing the pressure on her left. "I'm ready." she announced. "Fly me away like the wind!" she laughed.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:15​

"Pull up your legs until we've taken off, so no sand can get into your wound", Timea instructed after Anik announced she was ready. Once Anik did, Timea explained, "like the wind, we shall go!"

Running, Timea flapped her wings, more strongly with each step, until she lifted off. The going was relatively slow, at first, but soon, she flew just a bit faster than she had ran. There was, however, still no wind blowing against Anik, only hearable blowing to the sides.

After a moment of flying, Timea let out a "hmm", then spoke. "That other hare I mentioned; It's strange, I've seen him before, around a place called Hannamar. There, he was glaring at us when we were hunting another hare, too.

I very much suspect this one came from another world."

 

[Silence]

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:15

With no wind blowing against Anik, she nearly did not realize they were flying, apart from the lack of bumps. But her leg thanked her for it, as it did not hurt more this way.

She listened to Timeas statement, furrowing her brows. She answered: "That's odd ... I wondered about this behaviour myself. Did it look particularily different?

Could very much be that this one is from another world. Or maybe it is some kind of rabbit god? Without much power? Just wanting to protect hares?" Anik chuckled a little about this thought. "The poor little rabbit god."

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:16​

"I hadn't considered it could be another god. It seems unlikely, and more so that he came from whatever world Speedy may be from. But still, let's not jinx things, shall we~" Timea commented, delivering it in a joking tone, but with some sense of urgency to it. "What ever the case, he had fur that's not suited for this time of environment, and was far too fatty to be a wild hare. At first, I thought he was someone's pet that had escaped."

 

[Silence]

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:16

"Huh. That's weird. But an escaped pet wouldn't do that. Or do you think someone controlled this one? ... But that does not really make sense with its behaviour. So ... maybe it's really a similar being like Speedy. A smart little animal. Although it did not seem to be able to speak." Anik speculated. "Well, we don't really know much. It did not really stop us from hunting the hare, but it did not help us, either, so ... I guess this is all just speculation. We would have to try to hunt another hare, maybe it would show up again. But for now, I think we can not know more about it."

Vala, day 11, 25:21
After some time spent instructing his new force and healing, Quan opened a portal again, marching ten of his new soldiers through. They arrived on the dampers of the fort in Vala, and attacked the archers and mages as the base's defenders moved into action. Meanwhile, Quan himself entered Shara's cell through another portal. "Shara, heed me."

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:18​

"True enough. Although I may be wise to have some caution around him. Remember the comment about a smaller creature standing up against a larger one may mean the former could be more dangerous than it looks? It applies when you're the larger one, too."

With this said, Timea was quiet for a minute, before speaking again, mostly wanting to keep talking to keep her mind off of her hunger. "Hmm. I have been wondering; But how good are you interpreting the feelings of other creatures? If you can interpret mine, you must be able to interpret those of others also, yes?"

 

[Silence]

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:18

"Alright, I remember. Although I should do that anyways, I could not know if something had spikes or sharp teeth or something." Anik answered.

When Timea spoke again, Anik thought for a short time, then answered: "You are correct, in some way. I can sense the feelings of all bigger creatures, but as I can not communicate with them, I often don't know why they are the way they are.

Also, it really depends on the size of the heart. I can get glimpses of the feelings of cats, but anything smaller than that, I can't sense much. Just the heart, maybe a little bit of courage or some other virtue, but not more than that."

The archers in Vala would begin shooting volleys of arrows at the attacking mooks. No sorcerers would be visible in the northern ward, initially.

The mercenaries, used to covering each other in life, raised shields and took cover before their archers and spellcasters returned fire with arrows and spikes of ice.

"Well, as I said, I had been wondering about this for a while, now. And after talking about the unusual hare, I thought it would be a good time to finally get around asking about it.

But, if you'd ask why I wondered to begin with; The reason then is that for a long time, I've believed that man gravely overestimates their places in the world, in thinking they're so much further above everything else. I believe, the only difference between creatures is how they adapt to deal with their environments. And that at the core - or heart, if you will - it's much the same", Timea explained, then was quiet for a moment, and let out a small chuckle. "With how you can see what others cannot, I wondered how you thought about this."

 

[Silence]

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:19

"..." Anik was silent for a time, not really comfortable with answering. Finally, she said: "I used to believe a similar thing. Or a worse thing. I don't know ... I used to believe that all humans are corrupt, a plague on the world. That they ... no, I won't form that thought.

Now, I don't know what I believe. Maybe that humans are animals with another type of adapting themselves to their environment. And then they start to adapt themselves to other humans. And that can be bad. I doubt that humans are anything above everything else. We still just search to survive, and to find love. Like other animals."

Vala - Day 11 - 25:23

The soldiers continued shooting volleys of arrows, forcing the mercenaries to stay behind their shields to avoid getting struck. However, the mercenaries did successfully hit some of the soldiers. After a couple of minutes, a figure in metal armour stepped out of the barracks, and raised his hand. A wave of fire shot out towards the mercenaries across the yard.

Vala, day 11, 25:23
The mercenaries broke ranks as the man in metal armour began using fire magic against them. Three melee fighters broke ranks to attack the fire mage, the others going back into their tortoise formation as the archers and mages resumed their ranged attacks.

Vala - Day 11 - 25:23

Speedy was waking because of the noise outside. He looked around, confused, then found a place to look outside, quite quickly.

It took some time for him to realize that he was looking at mercenaries with similar faces like the one Shara had at this point.
When it finally got to his little mind, he sped as fast as he could to Robin, Cybil and the others, squaking: "Wake up! I think the mean sorcerer is back!"
