When the three mercenaries charged him, the sorcerer turned his attention to them, blasting their heads and necks with a gout of flame before they got close to him.

Robin rolled out of bed, waking himself up, starting off groggy but becoming more alert as what Speedy said sunk in. He headed to where he heard the fighting.

The three melee mercs were blasted back, faces charred, but the mages and archers took advantage of this distraction to hammer their fire on the armoured mage's head.

Vala, Day 11 before the invasion

After spending a while just accepting the whole sudden world jump, Jantra tried to learn about how magic and stuff worked in this world, particularly Skymetal and it's potential uses in forging stuff. He was also informed by Robin about the situation with Quan Chi.

Vala, Day 11 25:35

Jantra scrambled out of bed. "Wait, what? Already?!" He yelled, forcing himself awake. He put on the armor that came with him, then followed Robin to the fighting.

Cybil elected to spend the rest of her time that day practicing some more with her sky-metal, making small, barely noticeable improvements with her control.

Vala - Day 11 - 25:22

Cybil, being precognizant and all, was already in her leather armor and out the door as Speedy came in. She made a bee-line for Shara's cell.

Vala - Day 11 - 25:25

The impact of the ice spikes and arrows on the sorcerer, despite not penetrating his armour, did stagger him. As he backed off, he sent out another fireball towards the mercenaries, before entering the barracks again. The other soldiers continued their attack, shooting volley after volley at the mercenaries, with some waiting for mercenaries to expose themselves before shooting.

When Cybil approached Shara's cell, she would see the pair of guards assigned to Shara standing outside, swords drawn. The door to the cell was still closed, as the guards were unsure of how to proceed.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:21​

While she wasn't able to see Anik with the angle, Timea still picked up on her being comfortable by her voice.

While Anik spoke, Timea thought that she had similar thoughts regarding humanity to the ones Anik once held. She also thought why Anik had thought the way she did. But, expecting mentioning her thoughts would most likely make for things turning sour again, and it not being the right time to ask about Anik's, didn't commented on either subject.

"I think you have the right idea on that", she commented, deciding to conclude talk on the subject, there.

With people getting ready, Speedy thought about what he could do, finally decided to head to Shara's cell as well. He arrived there after Cybil.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:21

"You think so? Thanks ... I have not really figured it out, yet. And not really be with any humans for a long time now, maybe I am just getting weird ...

Anyways, are we near Hillary now? I have like no idea how fast we are going."

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:21​

"We're going about the same speed I ran at, before. Maybe a little faster. We're not near her, yet, but we'll be soon", Timea commented. She paused for a moment, then continued, more cheerily. "Speaking of running - Aside from that single mishap, you did really well in the chase! Maybe, with more training, you might be able to match my running speed one day~"

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:21

"Thanks, but I ... felt quite unsafe there. I just wanted to catch the hare.
I would not try to run as fast in other circumstances, not even if I knew the layout of the land. I don't run in a straight line for some reason. I easily get confused this way. And I was really lucky that I just ran into the one rock - I did get a lot more bruises when I was younger.

Hmm ... I could run for training, but I would need to take the hand of someone, so I would not run off the path or stumble over something."

"You're a tactician, right? What do I do?" Jantra asked Robin.

"You are coming with me." he ordered Shara, then turned to Cybil and Speedy as they entered the room. "Stay back!" he told them.

"The others are handling Shara. We should join the main fight. If you haven't fought in that before, maybe you should act as a tank?" Robin suggested as they ran to the battle.

The mercenaries, remaining in defensive formation and returning fire, moved as one over to a wall, making sure they had their backs to it so they weren't being attacked from all angles.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:22​

"I could run with you. I couldn't hold your hand, but you could hold me by the tail, instead", Timea suggested after a brief moment of thinking. "Maybe we could eventually expand this to you running on your own, with instructions on when to avoid obstacles, like we just did."

Vala - Day 11 - 25:27

The soldiers continued pelting the mercenaries with arrows, though a few of them had stopped shooting and were now running into the barracks to get more arrows. Meanwhile, the armoured sorcerer had moved into the prison building to organise an attack with the sorcerers in there.

When he saw the mercenaries back up against a wall, he led an earth sorcerer out of the building. The sorcerer raised his hands, his sky-metal ring glowing brightly, as he made a wall of rock rise out of the ground in front of the mercenaries. He then made a pushing motion, rapidly sliding the rock wall towards the mind-controlled mooks.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:22

"Hmm ... that could work, yes." Anik answered. "And if I know the land, or if it is flat without any trees or other obstacles, maybe we could expand to me running on my own. We could not run a road then, however, unless I know it quite well. Otherwise I am pretty sure I would constantly graze the sides of the road.

But anyways, I would love to do that some time." she added, cheerily.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:22​

"Going over the roads wouldn't be a terrific idea, regardless. Just imagine how someone might react if he'd saw you running alongside a lion, holding it by the tail. You'd be likely to be written about in a fairy tale!" Timea responded, then trailed off, forming mental images of how people would react. At this thought, Timea then let out a laugh.

"... ahh. Funny, but we'd better not."

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:22

"A lion?" Anik laughed with Timea, not having known before that she had taken the form of a lion for running. "I guess you are right about that. That would be quite the sight! ... maybe people would think that so unlikely, that they would forget about it as soon as we left." she joked around.

"Yes, we better not. Not that I'm not thankful that roads exist, but they are not suited for running anyways. We could run into a lot of different people.

Are we there yet?" she added, wondering, and having lost her sense of time earlier, when she was chasing the hare, so it seemed to her like they were already flying longer than they had been running.

Vala, day 11, 25:27
The mercenaries had drifted apart a bit as the archers left, not needing the formation to be quite as tight. This helped them when the earth sorcerer slammed them into the wall, allowing them to quickly break and for most of them to escape but crushing some of the archers and mages at the centre of the loose formation. They resumed their ranged attack, but slightly weaker and spread out across the battlefield instead of bunched up as one.
