Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:32​

Timea looked to Anik as she hobbled towards the stone pile, half wondering if she should give Anik a hand, but finding this not being necessary.

"Okay. Before I leave, a suggestion for the exercises - maybe try doing them with your hurt leg raised at all times. I'm not sure how feasible this is with the squats, however. You'll have to experiment a bit.

Now, with that said, I'll see you in a bit. Wish me luck!" she said fairly cheerily, once Anik sat down. She then walked past Anik, and after taking a running start, flew off, taking on the giant falcon form, as she ascended. Getting increasingly itchy, she found herself looking forward to not needing the blanket any longer.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 10:12​

Flying around, searching, for twenty minutes, Timea found a small herd of camels. Letting out a shriek to rile them up, she began chasing them, taking two minutes to catch up to one. She snatched up a camel that was a bit on the small side, and tried to catch a second one, but failed on a first attempt, where after Timea gave up and decided to leave with what she had so to not leave her companions alone too long.

Sapping the camel of its energy along the way, Timea reached the stone field again, after another eight minutes.

Descending, Timea slowed down, and dropped the body on the sand, touching down on the ground a few paces in front of it. "I'm back!" she announced, reverting back to her default form.

 

[Silence]

Vala Area - Day 14 - 9:32

"I'll try it." Anik said. "Good luck!"

Vala Area - Day 14 - 10:12

At the time Timea was gone, Anik first dug up her bag completely, and felt around in it a little, locating her things again. She then tried to do some of the exercise Timea had suggested, but struggling to keep her balance while doing push-ups, then doing sit-ups, then struggling to keep her balance while doing squats, even though she managed to do a few, Anik stopped, annoyed.

Instead, she got back into the relieving posture, and started to skin the hare instead, taking a longer time then until Timea was back.

Anik turned her head towards her, smiled, and said: "Welcome back! Did you catch something nice?"

Vala - Day 11
You're hit in the back by something, instantly being paralysed and falling forward onto the ground. The portal is only a metre ahead of you, but can only groan as Quan Chi orders you to hurry.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 10:12​

"Well, this one isn't all that large, and I only managed to catch just the one. But still, it's enough to keep me from being hungry", Timea answered, while stepping over to the camel, paying silent respect to it once at its side.

"I'm really eager to fill my stomach, so I'm going to start preparations. But, you could feel the back, while I do. I don't think this is an animal you've seen before." While saying this, Timea uncovered the blanket, and laid it down behind her, then spent a minute scratching the front of her body, before realising she was probably irritating her skin more with this, and stopped.

 

[Silence]

Vala, day 11, 25:23

Speedy was trying to keep out of sight, preparing himself to run through Quan's portal, if necessary.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 10:12

"Fair enough." Anik said, and continued with skinning the hare. As Timea spoke up again, she however listened up, then put the hare down next to her bag, stood up with small difficulties, and said: "What I haven't seen before? Huh, what could that be?"

With that, she limped over to Timea, clicking and feeling her way to the opposite side of the camel. She then put all her weight on her good leg, and started to feel the back and then the head.

"It has a bump on its back. Huh." she said, slightly irritated. "I wonder what's that for."

"Damn it... can't believe I'm about to do this." Jantra cursed, then took a deep breath and roared, sounding much like a wild lion but much louder. He charged forward into the group of mercenaries, shield and axe raised.

Vala, day 11, 25:27
One of the melee mercs turned to engage Jantra, Sheild raise to block the axe strike then retaliating with a short sword slice.

Vala - Day 11 - 25:28

The earth sorcerer ducked behind the more armoured one, while still pelting the mercenaries with rocks. Meanwhile, the fire sorcerer sent streams of fire at the mercenaries, to ignite their bows and melt any metal on their armour or weapons.

Vala - Day 11

Cybil fired three more rays as she stormed into the cell, one each at Shara and Quan Chi's center mass, and another at Quan Chi's side in such a way it could be easily dodged, but doing so would drive him away from the portal. The glowing yellow stripes on her gun dimmed after firing the third shot. At which point she dismissed it and summoned her baton.

Quan Chi dodged both shots, but this did draw him away from the portal. Seeing Cybil's baton, he thrust out his hands, holding her in place there.

The ranged mercs scattered, returning fire on the armoured mage, but some of the melee fights were hit, their weapons turning into slag. Those that could fall back did so.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 10:13​

"These types have two", Timea pointed out, growing a talon, and beginning the gutting. "Most of this kind of animal's fat is in that hump, or humps, with the rest of the meat fairly thin. I'm not actually sure why they have this, but I assume it's some kind of adaptation, to deal with environments like these. If you feel around the eyes, you'll also find they have long eye lashes, for keeping out sand during sandstorms."

Jantra did not actually swing the axe, instead trying to lock shields with the merc and overpower him.

OoC: Jantra is 6'6", big even for his height, and quite muscular, and is throwing his full weight plus that of the plate armor into this shove.

Vala, day 11, 25:23

Seeing Cybil was in trouble, Speedy ran up Quan Chis leg and his body, in his face, to distract him for a brief moment.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 10:13

"Two?" Anik asked, and felt behind the one hump she had felt. "You are right ... maybe it's so that they don't get too hot in the desert, but still keep fat around if they don't find something to eat?" she speculated.

Anik then felt the head, more intently then she had the body, touching the eyelashes soon enough. "This is certainly useful." she stated, continuing to feel. "And this animal has no antlers or something.

Do you know its name?"

Not having any way of resisting, Cybil was immobilized by Quan Chi's magic.

"That's certainly possible, yes. It may also have something to do with water, as there is - of course - very little of that in areas like this. And something of this size should drink often, yet they don't. It's a bit of a mystery,", Timea mentioned as Anik examined the camel's shape.

When asked if she knew the name, she answered, "in this language? I don't, no."

Quan was distracted by Speedy, breaking his spell as he reached up and grabbed the hamster,then tried to fling him aside.

Jantra hit the opponent's Sheild, his strength and weight sending the enemy reeling.

Jantra jumped upon the fallen merc and brought the blade of his axe down on the merc's skull, then stood up and made another roar.

Vala - Day 11 - 25:23

Speedy managed to be fast enough that the grab was a loose one, so he managed to jump back on the ground on his own accord, without getting injured.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 10:13

"As a water tank? That does seem odd, doesn't it? Hmm ... I wonder if these are hunted by humans, or what they think of them.

How about the name you know, even though it is not in this language?" Anik asked.

As she thought that she had felt everything important, Anik made her way to one of the hind legs, to mostly feel its length and the type of its hoofs, then she felt along the tail as well.

"Does it have some important characteristic I just missed by feeling, or do you think I felt most of it?" she asked, after she was done with this.

Now freed from the spell, Cybil dove in and swung her baton for Quan Chi's right ankle, aiming to both sweep his feet from under him and stun him.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 10:14​

"Well, the lumps don't contain water. But all things considered, I think the need for water may have something to do with it. As for their relation with humans; They're not hunter any longer. In areas like these, they've been kept along cows and horses, and used for the same thing. Meats and furs. Milk, in more recent times. And as transport, for either goods or riders", Timea explained. When asked for the name, she would state it in Farsi, and three Arabic dialects.

Feeling the camel's leg, Anik would find the quite like, and fairly thin. Where she may expect to find a hoof, she would find the foot to have two broad toes. The tail was short side, with rough, long fur.

"If you'd feel along the face, you'll feel the ears have fur in them, and the nostrils are small. Both are, again, to keep sand out. They can also close off the nostrils. The kind that has only the one lump, the males also has a sack in the throat, which they can inflate. This is to attract mates. And speaking of, both kinds have sex sitting down."
