The fire sorcerer continued blasting the mercenaries with jets of flame, the soldiers and earth sorcerer pelting them with arrows and rocks any time an opportunity presented itself.

Vala, day 11, 25:29
The shield was enough to deflect the killing blow, leaving the mercenary to recover. Robin, having been making plans for most of the fight, hit him with a lightning bolt, knocking him to the ground.

Most of the mercs began making their way to the east door, figuring that holing up inside was better than constant rock pelting.

Through sheer force of will, Jantra forced himself to his feet and drove his axe into the merc's chest. He took his helmet and the damaged chestpiece off, revealing to all that he was a lion! Rawr! In fact, he did let out another roar after he grabbed his weapon again, and began slowly approaching the mercenaries crowded at the gate.

The mercs continued backing away, funneling into the building. Robin tried zapping them more, but they kept their guards up.

Vala - Day 11 - 25:23

Cybil would find manacles chained to the left wall of the cell, though there was only one set. One of the guards sheathed his sword and ran off to get another pair.

When the mercenaries moved to the door, they would find themselves flanked by more sorcerers and guards inside. One of the sorcerers sent a bolt of electricity into the mercenaries, while the flame sorcerer approached them, intensifying his flames as he got near.

Wisely, Jantra decided not to charge in between spell casters into a group of mercenaries while not wearing his armor. Instead, he ran to Robin's side. "Whashould I do now?" He managed to ask before collapsing to his knees.

The mercs turned, charging through the spellcasters, intent on making their way to the cells. Some fell, their armour hot and in some cases melting. Others pushed through the pain or stripped off their armour, running faster as they sprinted to the cells.

Robin knelt next to Jantra. "Right now? I'd say get that looked at." He was referring to the spot where the armour had been broken.

Jantra coughed a few times. "I've taken worse..." He got back to his feet. "I just killed two more people..."

Cybil elected to chain Quan Chi to the wall while he was still out from the beating she had given him.

Cybil would probably have trouble wrapping the cuffs around Quan Chi's armour, but it would work eventually.

"I know, it's awful. I'm sorry." Robin sounded sincere. "But it had to be done. Are you alright?"

"Finish the fight first... but I don't think I can do any more right now."

Vala Area - Day 14 - 10:19​

Initially, Timea only let out a soft "hmm" saying nothing, and glancing away. As to look for a distraction, put more focus towards preparing her meal.

"I didn't try and keep up-to-date as to what my children have been doing, no. Trying would be imposing on what way of life they might have made for themselves", she explained, speaking after a while. "So, no. I haven't seen any since they flew the nest.

As for how long ago the last time was; I couldn't say, exactly. After recognisable civilisation formed. Possibly just before the rise of the third civilisation in the area. That is the most precise answer I could give you."

You grunt as you force yourself up to your knees, despite the sluggish after-effects of Cybil's paralysation gun. With a roar of exertion and anger you spring up, leaping forward towards the portal.

Vala - Day 11 - 25:24

While the second guard returned with shackles for Shara, the one who had stayed entered the cell to keep an eye on Shara, while Cybil handled Quan Chi. When Shara started to get up, the guard would swing his left foot towards her head, intending to kick her in the face and knock her head into the stone wall.

The mercenaries forcing their way into the building would be almost entirely surrounded by guards, some of whom were staying back, with spears. These guards would start thrusting their weapons at the mercenaries, while the lightning sorcerer sent bolts of electricity at them.

Robin nodded. "I'll keep an eye on you."

"Escape, then start killing. Harvest life for Lord Shinnok!" Quan Chi yelled to Shara as she made for the portal.

Vala - Day 11
Out of the corner of your eye, you see a foot approaching your head. You twist and lean back, letting the blow glance off your face. It hurts like hell and your vision blurs, but you see enough to grab the outstretched foot and pull. Hoping this is enough to keep the guard down, even if only for a moment, you spring up and lead forward towards the portal.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 10:19

"Hmm ..." Anik made as well, thinking about how she would visit grandchildren, but not blaming Timea for not doing so, thinking it was normal for her species.

"I guess you can't tell me how long this "third civilization" was ago. But ... how much did they build for themselves? Was it like here, or did they do more or less?"

Vala - Day 11 - 25:24

Cybil swung her baton down against Quan Chi's temple, hoping it would knock him unconscious, and in turn prevent him from maintaining the portal. Afterwards she used her ring to speed up her movement speed slightly and threw herself at Shara in a tackle.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 10:19​

"More, in some ways, less, in others. Seafaring, for instance, didn't exist yet, travel on boat went only between places along the rivers But, they also built the tower I mentioned. And like how the several layers of Calibeth City had plants and trees growing along it, they also built a garden structure like this, but going up, instead of down."

Speaking, Timea not sounded largely apathetic. Her feelings, however, turned more bitter at going through these memories.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 10:19

"Huh." Anik responded. "So it was still a really long time ago, in my own imagination. These certainly were weird people."

Picking up on Timeas feelings, Anik decided to change the topic. She got up, smelled alongside the hare a little bit, deciding it was alright on one side, but pretty raw on the other. Instead of continuing to roast it for now, she placed it on the ground and limped over to Timea, clicking. There, she placed one hand on Timea's shoulder, and started to nuzzle her neck for a short time.

"Thank you for telling me this." she said. "But for now ... would you like to know something more about myself?"
