"Well, the two things that are the most likely to happen is that either the hare will enter his den underground - if this is the type of hare that does so - and the snake will go after him. Or, the hare will escape the snake, which will force the snake to give up and go look for something else.

In the first scenario, it doesn't pay to be cautious, so you should just run to beat the snake to the den. But, in the second, the opposite is true. You should be more careful, then", Timea explained. "For now, let's keep going at a steady pace. But pay close attention to what's going on, so you'll know what to do, next."

"If you don't want to tell me ... well, then I have to try something else. Like, I could try to build something with this Quan Chi portal magic in it!"

Vala Area - Day 14 - 8:45

Anik frowned a little, as Timea told her the two different scenarios. "I won't know if the hare is about to, or entering a den, though. I ... how would I even find out? But, alright ... let's just go on. Maybe I find some new trick..."

With that, she continued moving at a similar pace as she had before. As she was neither clicking nor using the cane, this way, however, she was not safe from walking into rocks or similar things.

"Oh. Sorry. ... But that means I could try asking the people who picked you up, at least.
I think it would be worth a try. Don't you think?

Also, how deep is the ocean? I could fly above and try to look for it."

"Right. I would need some electrical lights as well ...
this will take a lot of planning, but if I find something, I will let you know." Speedy said. "Maybe I should try asking someone else to help to try retrieving your ship ... would probably better be out of water, and if I need help anyways ..."

"Don't worry, at some point I will get a brilliant idea! ... Maybe it will different than retrieving your ship, though. We will see!" Speedy said. "Now, was there something I forgot ... anything ... do you know anything else about dimension travel? Or have I asked you everything already?"

"Alright." Speedy said. "I know you don't think so ... that there is not much we can do ... but you helped me a great deal. So thank you."

With that, he walked out of the cell, not nearly as fast as he had come in.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 8:45​

"Couldn't you tell if he'd go underground by sensing the different elevation of the heart?" Timea questioned, following after Anik. "You can still use your clicks at this range, by the way. If the hare hears it, he wouldn't know that it's a threat from this far away."

As Anik and Timea moved on, Anik would sense the snake starting to fall behind the hare by a good amount.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 8:45

"I could tell if it would go down, but I can only guess if it is because of a burrow, or because of a depression in the ground. And it could go into something like a small hill, without going down, I would not know that either." Anik explained. "The clicks? I ... thought it would hear it. But alright." she added, then began to click, her movements beginning to get a lot more assured.

Sensing the snake fall behind, Anik was relieved that it probably would prove no danger to their hunt.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 8:47​

"Hmm. I suppose you'd have to judge where a hare might be, based on his further movements, if any go underground. Maybe you'll get to practice that, soon. We'll see", Timea commented.

She continued on following the hare with Anik, the snake giving up after a minute. Another minute later, Anik and Timea drew closer to the hare, who was now resting after running, 90 metres away from where the to were. "Stop", Timea prompted Anik, speaking with a hushed voice, and going down into a crouch. "From here, a mistake could easily put him on the run, again. Can you tell which way he's facing, Anik?"

 

[Silence]

Vala Area - Day 14 - 8:49

When Timea told her to stop, Anik did so, ceasing her clicking as well. She crouched down as Timea did, and answered her: "I can just guess - that it is facing away from us because it did stop there, and did not move back towards us.
But I can not know in which direction it looks.

Should I go closer, keeping the wind in mind, and stop as soon as I sense movement?"

Vala Area - Day 14 - 8:49​

"He's sitting with his left side mostly facing towards us, but hares have the eyes on the side of their head, so he'd notice you if you approach him going straight from here. Try going in a circle so you can approach from behind. But other than that, you got the approach right", Timea relayed. "One last thing: It doesn't look like the hare has a den nearby. So if he does run, go after him, and try and to keep up and outlast his stamina.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 8:49

"Hmm ... alright. Thanks" Anik said. She was not quite sure how she would know when she was directly behind the hare, but started to circle it regardless, always keeping her head in the direction of the hare. Instead of preparing herself to run, she thought about how she could jump on it as fast as possible, to make a chase unnecessary, as she felt quite unsure about herself in managing to do this.

As she thought that she was behind him, Anik slowly got closer to the hare, concentrating all her senses on it. She also kept the wind in mind, stopping when she felt it going the wrong way.

As she was quite close, however, the hare noticed her. Anik not realizing this, kept on coming closer, preparing herself to jump. But before she even got to it, the hare started to sprint away.

Not caring too much about being silent anymore, Anik loudly called out a "Fucking damnit!" and started to chase after it.

At first, she tried not to go too fast, as the danger of stumbling seemed to high for her. Realizing that the hare was getting away, however, she began to race at full speed after it.

She managed to do this for about three minutes, when she suddenly hit her shin against a rock, quite heavily, and stumbled over.

Not wanting to lose the prey, she managed to get up again quite fast, even started trying to run again, but a slight limp stopped her from going as fast as she had gone before, and Timea would see that her leg did bleed.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 8:52​

When Anik stalked the hare, Timea stayed put in a crouched position, watching carefully. When the hare spotted Anik and began running, Timea took on the form of a lioness, and began broke into a run, shortly after Anik did. With a build that was close to her actual one, she ran a little faster than Anik, over-taking her after two minutes. She then moved in a position where she hoped to flank the hare, and drive it closer towards Anik.

While both hunters ran fast, the hare was still quicker, managing to stay ahead of both Anik and Timea. And when Anik hit her leg, and fell over, she fell behind a fair amount.

During the time Anik fell, got up, and resumed the chase, Timea was still chasing after the hare, herself. She didn't see Anik falling over, but in a moment where she had a better view of what was happening behind her, saw Anik running more slowly than usual, but didn't spot more than this.

Timea managed to begin chasing the in an arc, but not enough that the hare came close to moving back towards Anik, still largely going forwards.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 8:52

Not wanting to give up, Anik kept on running. Even though it was painful and slower, she clenched her teeth together and tried to ignore it, managing to do so for the most part.

Sensing Timea run next to her in a slight arc, Anik wondered if she should try to do so herself, but being this far behind, chose to ignore it.

She just kept on running, and as the adrenaline kicked in, she could increase her speed again, even though it was certainly not healthy for her leg.

Vala Area - Day 14
As the chase was on, a rabbit ran up perpendicular to Timea on the opposite side of the hare, matching her speed. The rabbit was very unusually coloured - naturally coloured on the rear half but speckled with white on the front half. It stayed some twenty metres away and did not look scared.

Vala Area - Day 14 - 8:53​

After another minute of chasing the hare, Timea noticed the rabbit approaching her, and recognised it from her time around Hannamar. Seeing its behaviour, Timea half wondered what it was going through its head, and marked it as another possible prey to chase after, but otherwise didn't pay too much attention to it.

Seeing Anik start to slowly close the distance that between the two, Timea cast a very brief glance at her, taking in what the surroundings looked like, making a mental note to try and alert Anik of any obstacles in the way, well ahead of time.

"There is another hare near me!" she called out while running, not knowing a rabbit was called such. "Which one will we hunt? Your call!"

The hare wasn't showing any signs of tiring.
