Montreal Portal Station, Early Afternoon

A hole in reality tore itself open in the chamber where Blue was hosting her portal, opening a short distance from said portal. Three figures stepped out of the hole, after which it quickly sealed itself back up.

"About time. Getting authorization for this took way too damn long." Said the first, a fairly short feminine figure wearing brown slacks, a loose-fitting grey turtleneck sweater with a lab coat over it, and brown dress shoes. She had short black hair and a pair of rounded ear atop her head, covered in black fur, and blue eyes.

[color=9f2089]"Why's that--"[/color] The tallest of the trio began to ask. Another feminine figure, she wore black slacks and a simple, white, button-up dress shirt with the top buttons left undone and the sleeves rolled up. She wore a black of black dress shoes, and had a sword scabbard tied to the back of her black leather belt. She had longer brown hair that was tied into a ponytail near the base of her head that was tucked into the back of her shirt. Atop her head were a set of pointed ears covered in black fur, and her eyes were green.

Code:
"Why's that portal open? I thought anomalies didn't stick around?"
The shortest of the pair interrupted the tallest. In stark contrast to their peers, this one was covered head to toe in lusterless, grey-colored metal armor plates. The armor looked similar to medieval plate armor, apart from the helmet, which seemed to have no openings whatsoever, apart from a small series of slits near the base of the neck, and had two sharp protrusions pointing out near the scalp of the head. The voice sounded like it was being run through a speaker system, and had a tinny quality to it.

The taller one shot the smallest an annoyed glare, to which the smallest simply responded with a shrug.

"Can I get five minutes to actually figure that out, or are you idiots gonna keep asking dumb questions?" The middle sized figure barked back at the other two. She made a pair of right angles with the pointer and thumb fingers of both of their hands, then touched the points of each pointer to the opposite thumb, making a rectangle shape that she looked through at the portal. A semi-transparent blue light formed in the rectangle. She pulled her hands away from each other and the blue light expanded to keep her hands as its corners, turning into a large, flat, blue rectangle. The shape remaining as she took her hands away, and she began tapping at it with her right hand. The light responded and opened a white colored square with black writing on its surface, looking like a text box on a computer screen. She continued doing her business while the other two stood by and inspected the room, staying clear of the portal.

"She was indeed. She asked for a way home, and I sent her there. So, unfortunately, she is no longer on this plane." Ullia replied.

Montreal, Portal Station

The room that the mystery gang had found themselves in was very simple. Aside from the large circular portal device in the centre of the room, the only notable features were some security cameras and a door.

[color=e50000]"Yes, this is correct."[/color] Dala answered. [color=e50000]"Ideally, they would not be affected by my magic, or at least not get destroyed when I use it.
... and not be made of common metal, obviously."[/color]

Portal Room

The cameras were not functioning, seemingly being disabled by some electric outages.

The portal actually began to flicker, even though it was not see-through. Seemingly people on the other side were doing something as well.
Maybe shutting it down?

"Well, it's not common metal. And I should be able to inscribe those immunities. I just need to know what your magic can do." the man said, as he stood up. He then indicated for Dala to follow him. "I can take your measurements while you explain your magic to me."

Faa approaches where the oddity had come to rest. As he drew nearer and nearer his eyesight could defeat more and more of what shrouded it until 5 meters away and he saw it for what it was. A sleek drone about 3 metres long with a large oval sensor that glowed red. Having lured Faa to the ground, into the snow of a small wood where the branches made a hasty or Poorly thought out retreat dangerous. 3 women emerged from behind the trees clad in skin tight body gloves. Each stunningly beautiful by human standards, unnaturally so. They appeared perfect. Even Faa couldn't spot a singe imperfection of their skin and hair. They each held two magnum pistols and casually strode towards Faa, a look of smug impassiveness about them. Faa began hissing and backing away, realising his mistake. Stupid. So fucking stupid. "Stay away from me.....ill, I'll kill you" he snarled. The 3 responded by laughing in unison, a hellishly pitch perfect laugh that stung Faa's pride as much as uneased him. They approached so calmly, so confidently. Faa didn't know what to do. He stopped backing away, stood his ground, puffed his chest out and tried to look as proud and unbent as possible before roaring at a deafening pitch that echoed for miles around.

Dala followed. [color=e50000]"Well, I have a lot of magic, but all is based around fire.
Now, if the prosthetic fit me, I should be able to bring them with me when planeswalking, no problem there.

But they have to be light enough to let me move them, or at least bring them with me, when I move at immense speed. Magically enhanced speed that is, faster than a car."[/color]

She took a breath. [color=e50000]"For flying they would also be good. Of course, if I could cast with them, it would be very nice, but it's not a requirement.

But flying, and a shield of fire around me, and all of my fire-breath attacks - they have to withstand those. That means temperatures melting stones. So inscribing them with magic and immunity to fire directly, instead of trying to reach a point where they would not melt, that has to be done. And then, I can also melt a lot of metal with a cooler magic flame. They have to withstand that, too."[/color]

[color=e50000]"Now, my magic comes from the energies of the earth. I know it can interact with the magic of Avinah, so I hope your inscriptions are compatible."[/color]

Portal Station, Pointe St. Charles, Montreal. March 7th

As the trio of catfolk appeared in the portal room, the ant spybot trained its camera on the trio. Camouflaged to appear the same colour as its surroundings, it sat still, and filmed their exchange, relaying the footage to Forefront HQ.

Valley of a Thousand Hills, Durban, South Africa. March 7th

With Tombstone now stopped to mask the Scath portal, Forefront monitors locked on to its location.

Puzzled about what just happened, and noting the portal was still being sustained, it was decided to do nothing, but continue to monitor the portal's activity, for the time being.

Alleyway, Ottawa

In Ottawa, the Watcher deployed remained hovering overhead in the area around it entered through. When the XPOL agent approached the alleyway, the Watcher trained its camera on them, zooming in to get a better picture of what they were doing.

When the XPOL agent would leave, the Watcher continued idly surveying the area.

[color=0066cc]"I see... Well, thank you for your help, now I know where to go next. Good bye."[/color] - With that, the bounty hunter turned and left, finding her way out of the compound and back to her ship. She was soon in orbit once more, contacting the bounty store to get the information needed in order to travel to Anik's home dimension.

The line was silent for a while, before a response was sent; "There must be some mistake. This is the first time we've ever heard of you! If your prince is on the planet, we'll do our best to find him but then you will have to withdraw to your portal. If you do not turn around now, we will open fire.

The South African Army had about 3900 infantry in Johannesburg, with thirty-six armoured cars and plenty of APCs. Some of the APCs had guided anti-tank missile launchers mounted on the roof. There were some man-portable anti-air missile launchers as well. An AAA regiment was en-route, along with another 550 infantry. From the north, a squadron of twenty-six air-defence aircraft had launched and raced south towards Johannesburg. There were about six thousand cops in the city, spread out to cover areas with concentrations of civilians.

Once the portal location was no longer masked, the XPOL ETR squad quickly took off in order to stop the invasion at the source. Their Skyranger was heavily loaded, as they also carried an XPOL agent, and his equipment for shutting down portals. They took a circuitous route, in order to avoid the attacking force.

The man led Dala into a back room, which had a large number of piece of metal on a bench lining one side of the room, and a table in the centre holding a number of tools. The tools included hammers and tongs, but also a long thin piece of metal, which came to a sharp point.

As Dala spoke, the man took measurements of her shoulders and wrote them down on a notepad. "That all sounds doable." he stated, while measuring the distance from Dala's shoulders down to her thighs. "It'll cost you a few hundred dollars, though."

Bounty Hunter's Ship

Using information from Anik's original arrival, as well as the events of the previous few days, the bounty hunter would be given two possible universes; the one Anik considered home, and her native universe. The message with this information would include everything that would let the bounty hunter travel to both worlds.

"I have to admit, this is the first time I heard of a human being enhanced genetically." Reinhardt told Sarah. "Wherever she's from, it must be quite advanced."

Dala blew a sigh of relief. [color=e50000]"I have enough money, don't worry about this. I can pay.
How do these prosthetics work, though? I probably can't feel with them, but do I use them with my mind, or with some other muscles? And do I need implants, where they will be connected to me?
And can I take them off at any time?"[/color]

She was quite eager, even forgetting to say sorry for asking to many questions at once.

Ptaak had no humour for threats. The Hrem were indeed prepared as their ambassadors had claimed. To Ptaak this all but confirmed their guilt. Still cautious about engaging with his force however he had to make a call. Let the Hrem reinforce and commit his own reserves or attack now and cripple the enemy before help could arrive. Still he remembered his position in history would be defined by this moment. Scath would remember this moment for generations to come. Ptaak and the expeditionary forces lineage would forever carry the weight of their actions here. With the majority of the Scarh still arriving by the hour through the portal he had the advantage of time. They didn't need to target the civilians and would hope not to. The Yrek'd were not butchers, just a new initiative to have a fighting force that could engage other races aside from Scath. To fight a more widely applicable mode of warfare. The other part of the Scaths militairy was still arriving. The knightly orders spoke to the dispassion and glory seeking desire of the younger Scath. As such the Orders vastly outnumbered the Yrek'd but didn't have the advanced equipment or tactics of them. A relic of an older time that was still such a central pillar of Scath society.
"You do not make demands of us! Your arrogance is the cause of all this. Denying your offense will get you no where. I so much as glimpse anything moving in a way I find displeasing, your 2 hours becomes 10 minutes!"

While the 600 at Johannusburg had their attention focuses on the defendes of the city the reserves, Scath patrols and the gathering force at the portal station were ever alert. Any aircraft without some kind of optical camouflage would be spotted miles in advance by the keen eyed Scath.

"It is." Candace was told, before the prosthetics-maker turned back to Dala. "You use them just like normal arms. No implants needed, and you can take them off whenever you want. They're held in place with leather straps that go across the upper torso. And don't worry, the leather will be protected by the same magic as the rest."

[color=99d039]"It's fiction about the near future, with some common tropes - like corporations having the most power, and people having a lot of cyber-enhancements.

The fiction often explores moral dilemmas about future technology, too."[/color] Sarah explained to Zev.

She smiled to Reinhardt, liking his cheery attitude.

Faa was backed into a corner he couldn't think of what to do and so pounced with a growl towards the nearest woman. Scath were incredibly fast for their size and a Scath who had trained physically as much as Faa was an agile opponent. Before a swipe of a claw could touch the woman she had cartwheeled backwards away, the claw gouging into the snow where she once stood. Faa roared and followed up again and again, missing by more and more. In a panic he lashed his tail out at the other women now behind him. They similteaneously backflipped over the tail and landed with a twirl. Faa
Kept this up constantly always attacking, trying to land a telling blow.
