As everyone else seems to be choosing late medieaval period weapons, i'll join suit and choose an eagles beak, its a lightweightwarhammer with a hardened spike insted of a flat surface, nice and quick with the power to peirce both helmet and skull in one quick attack. I'll use that with a sheild close up, and become a gladiator, it will be much nicer than life as a soldier, just as long as i'm good at it.

agreed with him, though as to whether i like the swords (they do look damn cool, search for human swords on google) or the ability to run around a battle field naked and covered in blue war paint is a question best left unanswered...

Not sure if it was made before, during or after Roman times, but I would use a crossbow. If it wasn't invented then, I would just grab a long/short bow.

Roman weaponry wasn't really all that great...

So my answer: I would join the senate and my weapon would be the sciences. Quickly I would become one of the main advisors to the emperor, and live in luxury expected of a politician of the time... until my lord decides I am too much of a threat or has my head hacked off for fun.

Depends on the setting. In fantasy, a halberd. In modern war, the AW50F anti-material sniper rifle. In futuristic games, a NEXT outfitted with 2 heavy sniper rifles and as many missiles as I can fit on it.

Well, a scythe is one of my usual choices, and the other weapon that I might have used probably didn't exist back then, so I'll go with that.

Well, if they were, then what I wanted probably existed beck then as well. So a chain-whip might be an option for me.
