"Notes and...falling books!" James was practically shaking with rage, still furious about the events of yesterday. "I should have known there was something afoot, books predicting my own death flying around, pieces of paper cracking me over the head, mysterious notes no one will tell me the contents of, some Zinc Princess or a Copper Lady whatever her name is making threats against my life! This is an outrage, a blatant outrage! I'll be writing a furious letter about this one let me tell you."

James pulled out his notebook and began to scribble furiously over the pages, not realising until too late this was one of his pens that leaked ink profusely. Within seconds both the notebook and his hands were soaked with red ink. James stood there wordlessly staring at his hands with his mouth opening and closing wordlessly for some time, unable to articulate his combined anger and misery at the turn of events.

"This might help clear things up" Will said softly, handing James a blank piece of paper, on which illusions of symbols took shape, jiggled, blurred, and reformed every few seconds.

He passed a hand over his face, leaving behind an appearance subtly different from before; there was no easy way to tell whether this was an ilusion added or taken away, or if both were fake faces. The movement flowed smoothly into an extension of the arm, pointing at Cory; his eyes narrowed for a second, and stars exploded in insane geometrics around the fighter's head.

Turning back to Mei, he bowed, and as he straightened his clothing too was slightly altered. "A pleasure to meet, you, madam. Are you the Brass Queen our friend James speaks of?"

Mei turned once more, "As I said, I am Mei Feng, otherwise known, if only by me, as the Brass queen. It is nice to meet someone who shows proper respect for elders." It became quite clear that despite her good figure and pretty face she was nowhere as imposing as her stylized title would have made her seem. It was a little odd seeing her standing barely eye level to Edgar's chest but bearing herself so regally. "And when... did I make threats against your life, James, was it?" She realized his hands and notebook were soaked in red ink. "Poor kid, I suppose I am responsible for letting you get caught... red handed." She covered her mouth and a quiet giggle could be heard. She regained her composure a second later. " Tell you what, let me help you." and flicked out her card with a rapid movement. "Gunbuster maintenance." The ink began to drip on the floor off his hands and book on the floor and moved rapidly towards her where it pooled at her feet. "As a student of Cascade, you must always take care you do not dirty up the place. That'd make all of us sad." She dipped her card in the ink. "Absorb liquid. Now if you'll excuse me. I really need to get to the nursing club. You're free to follow but I'd ask you stop stopping me." She turned and stepped forward towards the rooms.

As Mei turned away, Will looked to James and gave him a meaningful look. He winked, and his eyes physically glinted, then he was away, falling into step with the diminutive Chinese girl.

The nerve! he thought, This girl speaks of respect and fails to ask my name. Well, we'll see what can be wrought... Before he spoke, he touched his plate to his face, and when it was removed his face was different again. With any luck, it would be a face that was hard to place, one that would slip away from memory.

"So, tell me about yourself," he said, pitching his voice between respectful and enamored, "What is it a beauty like yourself does with her time?"

Mei turned, "Me? Take medication, and reading the Gunbuster manga and fan-fictions, and spend most of my time in the nursing club, that's about it... Ahhh..." Her pace was slightly awkward. "Shoot. Did you tell me your name? There's so much going on compared to break, it gets very hectic, I can't seem to remember anything" She looked back at him and gave him minor confused look. "Did you just glamour your face?" continued to walk but slowed.

"I read a bit of manga too sometimes," Will began, trying to sound like an awkward suitor, then trailed off in embarassment as she, asked his name.

Will smiled carefully, aiming for a balence between hurt and native forgiveness, "I did, Mei. Don't you remember?" He shrugged, "I guess you have a lot on your mind. Why are you on medication? Is it serious?"

Mei didn't turn for the comment, "Bizarre... Could you repeat your name then, if hear it twice I'm sure to remember it. And yes, its quite a serious case of Anemia and general lack of muscle strength. So what kind of manga do you read?", She stopped in front of a door to a classroom and lightly pounded her cane against the floor. "Copper, Zinc. Open the door." The two brass golems lumbered forward an pushed the door open. "Thank you, darlings." She stepped into the door and saw two girls and a very tall guy sitting around with her picture with black ribbons on it. Will could see her hands shaking, "YOU JERKS! I'M NOT DEAD EVERY TIME I MISS SCHOOL!" She took a breath and sighed, still seeming a little irritated. "You guys can come in. The fools in here are members of the Nursing club." She moved over to a chair and sat down, gesturing to the two girls sitting next to her, "And this bastard is the president. Well come on in. Pull up a seat. I'm sure the president was just about to make something for us to drink."

Will's actions did nothing to improve James' mood, first he was handed the most obnoxious piece of paper he had ever seen, it continually changed right before his eyes. James stared at the paper as if in a trance for several seconds before managing to tear his eyes away. Unfortunately his troubles did not end when he put the paper away in his pocket because when he looked up Will was using some really kooky magic that made his eyes glint or something like that. James couldn't shake the feeling something was wrong with Will's face but he couldn't place it and before he had a chance to speak, Will and Mei were already gone. He snorted in annoyance and made an obscene hand gesture at Will's retreating back.

"Sometimes I think this whole school is just one big practical joke and your only options are to get tricked or join in." James was now at loss for what to do next, he was certain Will was up to something bizarre so he didn't want to get involved with that but he hardly felt like returning to the fight.

Will grinned, and flicked a mental switch. Inside his head, he cranked the Distractor spell up as hard as it would go, and aimed it at the three around the picture. His brain quailed as he struggled to deal with three focuses attention directed straight at him, but despite the cranial complaints, it seemed to work. He felt himself slip away from their attention, and gloried in the bemused look on their faces.

To Mei, he gave his best Worrying Smile, and murmured "They can't see me, oh Brass Queen. In fact, I'm (probably) just in your head. So tell me, how strong are the meds you're on?"

She smiled and flicked up her card. "No need to underestimate me, my dear. I may be small but you seem to forget that you're dealing with a very magically accomplished sophomore." Her smile turned into a smirk. "Glamour breaker." Will felt the stress in his mind instantly disappeared. "Don't mess with me, darling." The president smiled and waved at him. "Welcome to the Nursing club. I'm Simon McCross." He got up and started putting coffee on to boil.

Halfway through her journey Kelsey had almost run across Will and Mei on their way to the nursing club. She made sure to stay as far away from them as she could once she had noticed them, but she could still hear bits and pieces of what they had said. After all, the Brass Queen would project her voice to be as noticeable as possible.

They were... odd. Will seemed more than willing to cast various glamours, seemingly above the level of a mere Red Iron plate... What motive did he have to waste so many magic points on subterfuge...? And the Brass Queen herself 'boasted' a Bronze plate. Kelsey didn't like her one bit... Everything about her was off, from the way she abused her magic to the way she delegated all physical tasks to magic/technology hybrid Golems. Any time she would have to stay in the company of the Brass Queen was her own personal nightmare.

She guaranteed that they would return to the real world and become absolute nobodies. No wonder they got along. Not that she would say this to them. Of course she couldn't. She could barely speak to them; shouting at them was out of the question!

Wait... Someone was coming this way? She turned around to see James wandering, almost looking lost. He wasn't fiddling with any cards or coins, he wasn't messing with his plate, he wasn't even reading a book about spells he could learn. He didn't look like himself at all. Maybe her spell before had been too much? If she hadn't been smoke right now she would have taken the opportunity to apologise... maybe. She would have definitely tried to help him somehow. Instead she just floated away; she would try to help him later.

She went off towards the library, slipping through the keyhole once she had arrived. The door remained locked to keep out anyone who would try to abuse the library while Damien was otherwise preoccupied.

And there I was thinking I was unrecognizable, but ah well. And as for magic points, I'd forgotten about a limit. Whoopsie =P

Inside his head, Will pulled a face, but to the world he allowed his smile to fade from gloating to friendly, with a generous dash of nervous. He extended a hand to the president, and stammered, "P-pleased to meet you, S-simon. It's good to know we h-have people ready in case something... nasty happens. In all good faith, I hope we won't have to meet too often" he laughed awkwardly, and when no one else joined in, quietly excused himself.

In the corridor, he grinned; things hadn't gone according to plan, but that glamour breaker was intriguing; it cut through other spells with surprising ease, and was certainly worth some research. he wondered if ti could be applied to other forms of magic; was it only effective against magic that required constant mental input, or would it interrupt any spell, as long as you could catch it in the casting?

His mind wandering, he headed for the library in search of somewhere quiet to do a little research. As he tried the handler, he breathed in a little smoke and started coughing. the door turned out to be locked and he turned back toward the fight.

As aimless wandering often does, James found himself unconsciously heading back in a specific direction. Towards the fight in fact, and he honestly had no idea why, maybe watching something was better than being left with his thoughts. On his way back to the secondary gym, James spotted Will in a similar direction and sped up to walk beside him.

"So, you took the Brass Queen's soul already did you? That was pretty quick." This was just the latest of James' whacked out theories, he was convinced there was something sinister behind all the weird appearance shifts Will seemed to have. "You know, I've figured this all out, you're some sort of malevolent spirit aren't you? I can never quite place how your face is supposed to look, I guess you're having trouble maintaining a corporeal form?"

"What?" Will coughed, "What are you talking about? I'm no spirit! Hell, I just got out-foxed by a sophomore; serves me right for trying to punch above my weight"

He shrugged, and smiled lopsidedly, "Ah well, we learn from our mistakes, and she's taught me a thing or two already..."

"Impressive, you made Mr.Pessimist actually experience an emotion." Edgar stayed quiet while Will and Mei conversed and almost fell asleep when Will was affected by the spell. "Also," Edgar began to continue, "Did anyone else besides me smell smoke? A slight smell but I know what smoke smells like."

Mei politely dismissed his complement. "Awww thanks, darling, but he was taking the prank a little too far." She sniffed in the air, "Aiya. It does smell faintly of smoke. Might be that Kelsey chick. Or whatever her name is. She can do some smoke magic. I don't really care. We never saw eye to eye. That might have been a height issue though."
She looked over at Simon, who smiled, "This may be a little late but would you like some coffee, Edgar?" He offered him a cup.

"I would like some coffee thank you very much." Edgar took the cup and sipped it. "That Kelsey girl could be cute if she didn't freak out over trivial nonsense. I saw her stop Sofia from doing what she was supposed to in the fight for reasons that she shouldn't even care about."

After a few sips from the coffee Edgar asked Simon, "Oh Simon do you have any sugar?"

"Hmm," James looked at Will with narrowed eyes for several seconds before eventually abandoning his theory. "Ok you're probably still human, suspicious but still human. Out-foxed by a sophmore eh? I hope your planning some sort of insane revenge, I don't know what I'd do if I ever found the one responsible for that attack in the library. This creep blatantly uses magic in the library and gets away scot free and people start hassling me about shouting? No respect these days let me tell you. After I get criticised for being too loud Damien goes full troll and starts firing some gun off and chatting on his phone, it's a conspiracy if you ask me."

Mei grumbled, dropping any pretenses of being polite about Kelsey, "She can be so rude! Always going after the "mistreatment" of my "servants"! Who the hell does she think she is? If I didn't have to use the Copper and Zinc to help me with things like opening the doors I wouldn't!" She made a pouting face.

Simon had fetched Edgar an huge collection of sugar packets and a cup full of sugar. He turned back to see Mei pouting and made a genuinely face. Edgar heard a distinct from the three nursing club members, "Oh dear. Not again." Simon rushed over to her, handing her a small cup filled with a strange green drink. She sniffed it and downed it in one gulp. Her mood dramatically returned to her standard mode.

Markus let out a heavy sigh before leaning back in his seat the fight slowly but surely losing interest to him, sure he always enjoyed a good bout but to him if the combatants were`nt using magic, it was just two guys hitting each other for a bit. So in search of something else to do he rose from his seat and started walking by the exit. before he got there however he managed to overhear the ravings of the self proclaimed 'brass queen', to Markus she was just the kind of person you could`nt forget not because she was enchanting or anything but more specifically because she was a, to put it in simple terms, a complete *****. Never missing the opportunity to annoy people he did`nt like, Markus decided to ascend the steps up to the nursing club booth to pay her a little visit.

"Hey Mei, how have you been over the summer got any new slaves?, maybe you can even have them carry you, save you the trouble of walking" Markus said smiling widely in the most sarcastic tone possible.
