Indeed. I personally didn't like her all to much, but it did seem like they kind of booted her out of the game.

-Get to visit Earth

-More Joker and EDI

-More Grunt

-More Liara

-More Legion

-Quick load always brings you back to where you quick saved (It would occasionally load me up to after where I saved, if I had made a big decision before saving).

-Better neutral options. Perhaps a whole neutral tree, like paragon and renegade?

-Situations where only paragon or only renegade will solve them. That way one has to be more careful about what he or she chooses. For instance, in Mass Effect 2, regardless of whether one picked paragon or renegade, they both usually had the same effect, but gave different points. I don't think that should always fly- if I'm speaking to some sleezy underworld guy, he shouldn't respond well to paragon. And if I'm speaking to some high and mighty hero, then it wouldn't make sense for him to be intimidated by a renegade option.

-Multiple paragon/renegade options. For instance, if I am talking to some bouncer, trying to get into a club, for my renegade choices, I could have "hit him," "bribe him," or "threaten him." It would really flesh out the conversation system.

-I know that they have to make paragon/renegade affect gameplay somehow, but I'm getting tired of being pigeonholed into one path simply because if I don't consistently choose either the paragon or renegade option, I won't be able to do anything productive in later conversations because all of the good options will be grayed out. If that's the case, I might as well choose paragon or renegade at the beginning, and then have the game auto-play through those conversation options. I prefer variety in the way I play Shepard.

-Better exposition. Mass Effect 2 beat Mass Effect in this, but there's still a problem of me having to go through a Q & A session with every NPC I meet about what's happening. Show, don't tell.

What i would like is that they include the whole universe areas (council space and the Terminus systems) all of the citadel opened up, meet admiral hackket, seeing Tali's face, and free time with the hammerhead (taking it out for a spin ). Maybe more face time with the people you have met, rather than just the messages.

Perhaps a more radical idea would be to have repercussions reacted to what you have done more during the game. more of those cutscene paragon/renegade actions cant hurt.

A 5 disc epic ending to a great series. Tali's face. And I want them to use "The day the world went away" by nine inch nails as the music that plays when the reapers descend on the world. I want epic cinematics, dynamic stories, deep involved character development, and refined gameplay. ME2 was great, I'd like to see a loot system that is a happy medium between the first games "OMFG LOOTZ" and the second's "meh heres something thats not really that important."

Hmm. Good question.

For my own part, I'd like to see Liara and Kaidan/Ashley become playable again (presumably after Liara finishes up her ME2 storyline). Wrex would be nice too, although considering where he is in ME2 he'll probably just turn up as your reinforcements against the Reapers. Add to these whoever survives from your ME2 party, and have this be your playable cast for the third game. It's too late now to break in a bunch of new characters as ME2 did. Granted, depending on the choices made in ME1/2 this could be a big cast (5 of your 6 crewmates from ME, plus a maximum of 12 from ME2 is 18). This could probably be circumvented by DLC over time, however, and since it's probably not going to be released by 2012 they might not have a problem with it by then anyway, since most players who didn't work for the best ending probably lost a few team mates in ME2.

Secondly, I'd like the game to be more balanced then ME2 was in terms of the combat. While you were still blasting your way around the galaxy in the first game, there were plenty of vehicle sections (ignore the God-awful handing of the Mako for a moment) to break up the shooting. The absence of them in ME2 (except for in a couple of DLC's, which I welcomed), means it sometimes feels like you're playing through a bunch of shooting galleries. Keep the combat system of ME2, but throw in more ways to break up the shooting and I'm a happy man.

The only other thing about the combat that I'd like to see is the type of enemy vary more. In ME2 almost all enemies were human or humanoid. This adds to the repetitiveness of the shooting as I said above. In the original ME this was present as well, but not to the same degree. When I was running around Noveria and the bugs started coming up through the floor I thought I'd walked into an episode of Starship Troopers. The galaxy's a big place, and presumably all its life doesn't walk on two legs.

In terms of the character's powers, I'm happy with the ME2 system of having a few, powerful ranks for each skill. It could be improved by having more skills per character, though (even just one or two more), and more diversity in the skill sets of each character instead of several having access to Throw, Concussive Shot, etc. I realise in the light of the cast I want this is probably difficult to do, so I don't mind some skill duplication if it means I have the team I've built up over the past two games.

Resource mining didn't bug me as much as it seems to have done a lot of people, but I accept a better system should be found. Maybe if they use the Firewalker from ME2 to actually run around a planet for resources?

Finally, the plot. I agree with the original poster that having a wide range of endings is crucial, as well as tying up the loose ends that remain. This is apparantly the end of the series, so the ending must be satisfying. That being said, however, I really wouldn't mind a kind of "bad" ending where, if you screw up, the Reapers actually win and wipe out all life in the galaxy again. Knowing that you could fail in more ways then just having Shepard killed and respawn adds a good degree of tension. This is basically just an extension of the worst ending of ME2, but it was a good idea, so why not?

A long list, I know, but most of it seems realistic.

These are at least my hopes.

Have your crew killable the entire game, not just the end. Too many bad decisions could either lead to crippling wounds or death. And don't make them choices in a option but instead, by what actions you take. If you can, don't even let us know we are making them.
Wait? Are you aware of what this means? If this happens every combat/quest or social interaction (depending on implementation) will essentially be an escort quest with players constantly watching their actions lest they loose someone to an unforeseen side effect. And then they will re-load their games. It will only serve to annoy people and will either kill the game or have no storywise effect at all.

The most important thing the game needs to do is focus on building up the characters. Don't introduce new ones, there are enough to go around as it is and the late comers will always struggle against more established characters. And there is mucho room for development.

Theres a lot I'd like to see in the next game. And to start, I'll jump on the bandwagon. The question of what the hells under Tali's mask is a itch that I'm dieing to scatch. Personally, I'm of the camp of her having a normal, human-like face, though with some cybernetic implants. I'm also fond of the thought of there being some sort of twist or development where you can strenghten her immune system to where she no longer needs the suit.

And though this may sound weird coming from a guy, I'd like to see more done with the romance system in general. Sure, consumating things with you interest of chioce is a good way to start, but way not go out for a night on the citadel, or take the drop ship out for a spin with just the two you? And hell, I'm an openminded guy. Let me take Thane or Garrus out to a show. And on that, who says it has to be a romantic pursuit? It could just be a guys night out or something. Take Jacob up on his offer; get loud and spill some drinks at the Dark Star.

I'd also like more expansive armor customastion. More specifically, I'd love to change the color of the various glowing bits some of the armor pieces have. I know, I know, it's a weird and petty gripe, but I'm a man who likes his customastion in-depth and extensive, which includes little glowy bits. It's like that hyper bike you get for beating the Ronin in Saints Row 2. Why just yellow? I'd like to be able to change up squad mate armor, too.

As for the story:
Brokering peace between the Quarians and Geth. Both would be valuble allies against the Reapers.

The cure for the Genophage from Mordin's loyalty mission. What you chose to do with it, and how the consequences of your actions effect the out come of the game.

Having to choose between your ME love interest and the one from ME 2 if you cheated on the first one.

I could go on, but I feel I've said enough lD I look forward to whatever it is they do with the next game.

Combat gameplay should be a bit better, I can't put my finger on it but there was something about Mass Effect 2's combat that I found lacking.

The AI partners shouldn't be dumbasses that I have to heal every 5 seconds.

Develop classes a bit more.

Side-missions where you get to control the Normandy and fight other ships.

Make the main missions better like ME1, ME1's main missions had a sense of importance about them whilst ME2's was mostly just recruitment.

Choices have more of an impact, if I decide to shoot little billy in the face for stepping on my shoe I want his entire family trying to kill me not just a slap on the wrist.

The branch-classes in ME2 didn't seem to make much of a difference so they could fix that. In ME3 maybe something like Infilrator can branch into something like Special Ops which unlocks exclusive-class side missions and other skills.

I want a magical weapon that shoots shuriken and lightning, has tits on it and is on fire, and occasionally summons swarms of bees to attack you foes.

Also it would be nice to be able to play as other races, Humans are too damn compelling in this game because you are one of them...

And hell yeah Tali's face... and boobs... and ass... some S&M options would be nice...

Furthermore at the center of the galaxy there should be a floating volcano surrounded by black-holes that has a floating sign saying "This be the Norris residence, 500 Asari virgins are required for 1 minute of consultation"

Ok i loved both mass effects but they both needed some refinment. so here we go

- keep the combat system from 2 but expand on the inventory and customization from 1.

- get rid of the expanses of nothingness; i like the big expanses but put somthing else there apart from apart from more bloody mine-able planets. speaking of which...

- get rid of the mining based resourses system, resources should be obtained from, let say...
raiding mercenary bases, doing sidequests, doing assassinations , protecting colonies who will give income in exchange for continued protection, setting criminal organisations, pirating ect ect. the list is endless.

- more species, more exploration of cultures. more quests allow such things.

- more side quests for each character you come across, bioware really needs to understand that writing (and writing for characters specifically) are their strengths. people buy bioware games for the writing, play to that. and this does not mean codexs worth of word dumped into the start menue, i mean narrative, character developemnt and well scripted missions.

- keep Garrus, he's cool in his sociopathic vigilante way =D. he's alien batman... with a sniper rifle... and he actually enjoys his "job", not all emo about it.

- now the last one ... i going to get lynched for this.

Get rid of Shepard as the main protagonist.

'ducks'

i like Shepard and the game allows you to play many diferent Shepards, but i time for a change. s/he has already died once (at the begining of a game oddly enough) and s/he should of died dozens of times already, the old grim reaper must be getting awfully peeved about this.

i would suggest a new underdog protagonist who isnt already a bad-ass commando that Shepard was at the beginining of Mass effect 1, may be have shepard around with a few grey hairs and a mentoring complex.

an example premises : a new protagonist who is a young wo/man/alien that is down on their luck, totally rock bottom, no real training to speak of, no education, blank slate through and through, but still got some "Chutzpah". is picked up by cerberus and the illusive wo/man (who actually old wiser shepard) as new blood.

what do you think?

better balance between different classes. far more unique abilites. no minigames. space battles. less humans. deffinately no more 50 cent. new species/enemies. more than 6 starter classes e.g. how about one that combines a bit of tech, biotic & soldier.

I want them to go back... to ME1. Whatever they did in ME2 pales in dumbness.

Thermal clips? Wtf?
No customization? Fiddling around gear? Wtf?
No omni-gel? There's hacking/other shit instead? Wtf?
So many team members? Wtf?
Garrus romance and such? Poking eyes with forks now. This can't be unseen. Fine, if it's there, but I prefer to skip.
No exploration? Wtf?
No seamless transitions? Wtf?
Resurrection and over the top plot (human Reaper; weird encounters with the Collectors that seemed... weird... convoluted... unnecessary shooting sequences)? Wtf?
No epic conclusion? Wtf?
Mining? Wtf?

Personally, I bought ME2 just to experience ME1 type of a game all over again. And... what I got was very mainstream'd and dumbed. Anyone with more than half brain will agree, literally. If you don't, you know where's the problem.

No, ME1 was not the best game ever. Yes, it was the fucking best experience ever.

Honestly, Mass Effect 2 was so god awfully bad that I really don't care at this point. What they need to do is, like Yahtzee said, make Shepherd mine his resources by shooting monsters. How hard would it be to work in something akin to the Akrid from the Lost Planet series? The narrative is fine, but the gunplay is just weak. My recommendation, more explosions. This combined with a more intriguing resource gathering could make the game a thousand times better than Mass Effect 2
You can't label a game "god awfully bad" when your evidence for that statement consists almost-solely of a dull mini-game.

You're going to have to help me with that one?

OT: More of the same, and I'm seriously looking forward to seeing how they top the intro of ME2.
More guns and more armour customisation, but for the love of God keep the inventory system the same. I will hang myself if I have to go back to anything near the first game's inventory.

Tali's Face, more missions, and I no more mandatory calls that lead to mandatory missions from the elusive man, elaborate stage layouts, your complete crew from ME1 together with ME2, More weapons, and more powers, and way more renegade and paragon actions those made ME2 down right evil for me

Some explanation behind the weird Tali/Liara obsession fans have.

Seriously. I don't get it.

OT: I suppose I'll post a real answer so a Tali fan doesn't get pissed and accuse me of trolling.

Bring back the elevators.

I never understood the elevator hate. I thought it was a clever way around loading screens. I sincerely believe people just thought that Bioware was fucking with us and shoved long elevator rides to add "realism." Being able to listen to news updates, or your party chit chatting, was interesting. Much better than reading the same "helpful hint" for the eight hundredth time.

Of course, the only upside to the elevators were ruined on the Normandy, but there's no reason they couldn't add news updates there too. Put a radio in the elevator. Problem solved.

Other than that, there's not much. ME 1 and 2 were both great, despite people's idiotic complaints (they got rid of ridiculous micromanagement of equipment that no rational human being could enjoy?!!?!? YOU DIRTY SELL OUTS, HOW MUCH ARE YOU GETTING PAID TO IMPROVE YOUR GAME?!).

c'mon!
Maybe some space dog fights against smaller Reapers. Effectively playing Joker, (not limping through the Normandy2 playing).

More talking and romance. Totally lame I know but it drives the story for me. I really liked how much you could talk to your party in Dragon Age, something like that.
