Medal of Honor: Frontline.

Beautiful set pieces, fast, intense gameplay, good story.

It's main problem was controls.

Metro 2033. Good gameplay, intense combat and remember when I said that Bioshock is atmospheric (you've probably suffered some damage to your head if you don''t)? Well, you can multiply that by 3. The metro was a really scary place and the Russian voiceacting was really good and fit the world well.
Metro 2033 all the way. I'm currently on my 3rd playthrough, and it's holding it's place as my favorite game of all time. Metro 2033 is living proof that a game doesn't need multiplayer to be awesome.

I'd have to say Half-Life 2. It's just gold.
I'd agree with that if the gameplay wasn't incredibly mediocre and the very definition of generic. I feel similiar with Bioshock except replace mediocre with total shit.

I'll have to go with FEAR since it had a decent plot and exciting gameplay.

What the hell is wrong with the posting? It's the third time this week it's done this to me.

Half-Life 2 and Timesplitters: Future Perfect in my opinion.
Both for the same reason; They were well-written, well-paced and felt fresh when I played them.
They both had characters I enjoyed for different reasons. Half-Life's felt more like real people so to speak. Or, real actors. While TimeSplitters: FP's felt like any favourite cartoon of mine. In the best sense of the word.

MMModern Warfare 2.

Yes.

Yes, I am serious.

I enjoyed the hell out of it - it was fast-paced, well-acted, genuinely fun to play and had a ton of great set-pieces.
Hey, you're not alone.

I prefered others, but it was still enjoyable. I make a point of sticking up for MW2 against the waves of hatred.

That said, COD4's is much better. Or Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (which isn't an fps, but what the hey).
Would not agree, even though I absolutely love CoD4. I think it was better in multiplayer, but the singleplayer was not as condensed, sharp and polished.

Also, Vegas 2 - how is that not an FPS (excluding the magic third person cover vision).
Oops. My memory is playing tricks on me. I haven't played Vegas 2 in ages.

When I say what FPS had the best campaign Im talking personally to you. It might be you liked it because of its story or maybe you just liked it because it was just downright fun and you could do it over and over again. So tell me what your all time favorite FPS campaign.

Now Its really hard not to say Bio Shock because it was solely based around its campaign but if I had to say something else it would be Killzone 2. Even though the story wasn't all that great it was just a blast to play.
EDIT: OMG I almost forgot about Timespliters Future Perfect! Truly the most original game and story ive ever seen.
It's obscure but I'd say "Cybermage: Darklight Awakening" that game was well ahead of it's time and had a lot of innovative ideas, I picked it up in one of those old gold box "CD Rom Classics" type packages a number of years ago and had a ton of fun with it.

I would say say Bioshock, but while I feel it's a FPS game I think a lot of people feel it's more of a hybrid.

The best of its genre of course, Doom and Half Life series.

Shout out to Timesplitters, Painkiller and Metro 2033.

Half-Life 2? The Marathon series? Various others? I honestly couldn't tell. There are so many with exquisite campaigns, yet so different, that they can't be compared.

I don't think I stand alone in saying that Rainbow Six Vegas 2 was by far one of the best fps games I've ever had the pleasure of playing. That doesn't mean that Half Life 2 wasn't genius, or any other games for that mater, but in R6 the cover system was perfect, the story was seamless, the game play was a blast, and the amount of character customization was amazing.

Probably the Half Life series. It's the only game series I seem to look forward too nowadays, after countless hyped up let downs.

Doom, Portal, or Bioshock.
Bioshock was fun and new (I've never played System Shock, so it's new to me), it had a great story, and was pretty well lengthed. Portal was interesting, funny, and sleek. Doom, while the graphics may not be very up to date, is pretty much the essence of pure fun.
