Here's the Bible answer:
Genesis 3:19 For dust you are and to dust you shall return.
Ecclesiastes 3:19, 20 For the fate of human and the fate of animal is the same: as the one dies, so the other dies; both have the selfsame breath. Human is in no way better off than animal -- since all is futile.
Everything goes to the same place, everything comes from the dust, everything returns to the dust.
Ecclesiastes 9:5 The living are at least aware that they are going to die, but the dead know nothing whatever.
But death is not the end because on the last day Jesus will preform a large resurrection.
John 11;24 Martha said to him: ?I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.?
John 5:28 Do not be surprised at this, for the hour is coming when the dead will leave their graves at the sound of his voice:
Acts 24:15 and I hold the same hope in God as they do that there will be a resurrection of the upright and the wicked alike.
