Maybe when you die, your soul sinks through the ground, out the other side of the earth, and then you become Chinese. That is if your American. If you're from the U.K., you end up roughly in Iran...I think.

I think I just answered the question to China's overpopulation. All our alcohol, tobacco, murder, and good old American stupidity is filling up their country.

Nope. But there's still the problem of statistical correlation.

A common issue in the abuse of statistics is to presume correlation implies causation.

In other words, just because two things happen at the same time, it doesn't mean that one causes the other.

I cannot concieve of a method of scientifically verifying subjective reality, which leaves us with the problem that measuring brain activity doesn't actually mean what's measured has any correlation to what the person experiences.

Can I think of scientific experiments that would come close to answering this?
Actually, yes, I can. (eg... Intentionally messing with someone's brain activity, and seeing if this produces a predictable behaviour from them. - But that would require a quantum leap in our level of knowledge of the human brain.)
But there will always remain a degree of uncertainty.

It depends on where you want your answer to come from.

The brain's memory and cognitive functions don't work before birth and for at least a year or so after, and after you die, your brain doesn't work at all. The end.

Technically, if you had a hard core life, it takes about ten seconds for you to be reborn, provided you don't get any time penalty for killing any friends before. But at least you get the time to choose a more appropriate class, as opposed to just living normally, when you are reborn right away.
