I've learned a bit from life and I'm only 21.
Having been through a pretty serious accident that could have and should have killed me,
I've learned that the general populous is shit unless they prove otherwise.
Friends come and go as easy as romantic interests: nothing lasts forever.

Generally, people gauge their own lives on what they've been through to determine as to whether it is sub-par to them or not.
So it's difficult for people to understand what I'd been through (as horrifying to me as it was) just like it's difficult for me to feel the pain of what others around the world have been through if it is far worse than my scenario.

What it comes down to is that it doesn't seem you can be too happy before something falls through. You're kept in check in that once shit gets too good and you're 100% happy something will eventually take a turn for the worse.

It depends on what your definition of "succeeding" is. If you're content with having a family and a halfway comfortable existance, then that is most definitely obtainable with out being an asshole. If you want to be at the top of any type of ladder though, you can't be afraid to step on people on the way up.

I find it rather disheartening how much of a cynical bunch my fellow escapists here are. In reality, your life is what you make of it. If you let the pitfalls take control, then of course you'll have a meager existance. If you instead take them in stride, learn from them, dust yourself off and take that next step like its your first step all over again, then you will lead a very fulfilling life.

Attitude, attitude, attitude.

Personally I don't find life to be all that bad. Sure it has its bad points, but we couldn't truly appreciate the wonderful times without them. Light wouldn't be what it is without darkness. We each have much more control over our own lives then we realize. It all comes down to your own ambition and resourcefulness. Oh yes, and attitude. =)
thank you. :]

I have learned that 90% of everything is shit.

That's sturgeons law to it's most extreme.

90% of people are annoyingly retarded dipshits
90% of animals are dirty, annoying, and not at all endearing
90% of video games are about as good as a next generation sonic the hedgehog game
and 90% of anime needs to fuck on back to Japan and fangirls need to shut the fuck up about.

8% of everything else is OK, but contrasted with everything else it makes it looks gold

and the last 2% is solid platinum, I say platinum because it looks a hell of a lot like silver and since a lot of people are too busy looking for gold to notice it, many tit bits of awesome get over looked. Case in point, Psyconauts.

Power corrupts and everyone wants power.
Life my start and end the same for everyone, but its the middle that matters.
No one is exempt from the things said on this thread, including you!

There was too much dark here, we needed some contrasting light. (and yes my statements were how i truly feel, not made just in contrast of the masses) It's good to know you're not alone, but my gosh misery certainly loves company.

The more people you trust, the more likely you are to be hurt. However, you're also more likely to enjoy life until that point comes, at which time you simply have to rebound and keep going. Betrayal eventually stops surprising you as much, but it pretty much always hurts anyway. Does this mean that you should trust more or fewer people? Neither. Find a happy middle ground. No one makes it alone.

In relationships, three things are absolutely necessary: trust, love, and communication. Without one of the three, the rest tends to fall apart, leaving you holding the pieces. Everything else like physical attraction can help glue it together, but will fail sooner or later if one of the three keys is missing.

Honeymoons are the pinnacle of false advertising. If all marriages were still going exactly like the honeymoon did ten years later, there'd be far, far less divorce in the world.

Time is neither your ally nor your enemy. It heals all wounds, but it also drives you closer to your demise with every passing second.

1) Life has taught me that it sucks. And not in the good way.
2) Everyone dies.
3) No exceptions to rules number 1 or 2

That's about it.
I was jokingly going to say "ACCEPT JESUS!"

but then it occurred to me he died too... haha.
I did accept Jesus.
Unless you mean except Jesus.

You can bring happiness to anyone, even if it's a small act of kindness, such as a hug.

1. Nothing's going to come to you on a silver platter. You get one shot, and you take it, or you'll never go anywhere.
2. You could always be dead...

Oh yea, and the world is boring. That's why people make new ones through stories and video games.
