scared. If they are really just like us, they will call us inferior and murder us/intentionally give us epidemics.

I'd be very disappointed. But at the same time, if we're EXACTLY the same, I'd go to the other planet, find my alternate gf, bring her home to my house with my real gf. And ensue in a threesome.

But seriously, that'd be the biggest let down ever. And yeah we'd probably go to war, which might be interesting. Cause soldiers might get to the...alien homeworld and have to invade their own country.

I'd wage war with them and in the terms of surrender that they will be forced to accept, their entire race shall have to wear pointy ears at all times.

1. The odds of that are very very far. They would have to have the same size and shape of planet, with the same geological features, same atmosphere, same... well, you get the idea.

2. Being 100% exactly the same at the point of contact, well, it would be a stalemate because it would be on some planet equidistant from our planet where two people exactly the same meet and end up saying "greetings" simultaneously ad-infinitum. That, or carry on a whole conversation simultaneously.

3. Dropping the "exactly" bit, and assmuning just "biologically and technologically indistinguishable"; well, we'd do like we did anytime we found a new group of humans on our own planet. Try to kill them.

From a scientific standpoint, it might mean proof of an alternate universe or a perfectly symmetrical one.

Heheh. We've treated members our own species like shit for "looking different". Would them looking like us but being a different species make a difference?
Yes.

We wouldn't have to work as hard at coming up with excuses for treating them even worse.

Then I don't think I would want to be the first to meet this new species. I am quite sure that they would want to dissect the first one and see what makes them tick. Also I don't think I'd want to meet something that has a history as violent as our own.

At first...oh haha nice joke guys.

Soon after....wow, aliens...like us...uhmm...*momentary pause*

ok, yah, yer aliens... can I try out some of your toys? do ya got anti-grav suits yet to go flying around in? Can I get some cybernetic mods done to me? have ya found 'immortality' or made AI's yet?....

I'd mostly be weirded out of my mind at first, but then just want to try out their technology, there's gotta be some cool stuff there, and imagine the games!

On a negative note, if exactly like us with our cultural-ish stuff and habits, only just more advanced(space travel and all), I'd want to know what group we have met. Could be peaceful dudes(which would be sweet, imagine Buddhist or pot-smoker type aliens visiting us not caring if we use their stuff and expand our own tech and ways), the hostile kill-all xenophobic types(bad for us...) or the deceptive types(potentially worse than last, with whole second agenda tricking us to steal our land n make us slaves.... or just to take our jobs).

If they are not benevolent aliens interested in making peace? Nuke em...

Or send them a fruit basket... either one works

Then...how would we know they were aliens? We might think they're lying to us and are just humans, out to start a war or have a laugh at our expense or something.

I think people have...either a glamorised idea of what an alien is, how it should act and how it should look, or they believe that aliens are superior in terms of technology and knowledge...so to find out that they're EXACTLY like us would be a major disappointment for most people, I think.

But the only way this could happen was if there was another Planet Earth, with the EXACT same conditions and coincidences (the Big Bang creating EXACTLY the same trees, animals, plants..). I don't think you'd find that. Similar planets...but not the same.

Then a god exists, because the chances of that happening naturally without changes due to subtle environmental differences (if we were placed by aliens), or evolving separately are minuscule, and with the same languages it would be impossible! (unless they time travelled back with advanced tech and colonized another world)

How would you feel if the first contact we had we aliens was with a race that was exactly like humans, same colors, religions, countries, and issues.
We'd find some stupid reason to fight and a huge war over nothing would happen, as usual.
