Accusing people of kill stealing constantly.

I was playing CoD5 a while back after one of the map packs were released, me and another guy on my team were heading in the same direction. I was already heading that way while he had jumped down from some place in front of me. Next thing I know, an enemy came around the corner and opened fired on ME (not the other guy). I shot back and so did the other guy on my team, but I was the one who eventually killed him and the guy got all pissy and started trying to knife me. Good thing it wasn't hardcore.

I don't understand the whole "kill steal" thing. Sure, it works out fine in MMOs, but when we are playing a war game the point is to fucking kill the enemy before they kill us. If I waited around for some other person on my team to kill an enemy, I'd have way more deaths. If it has a red tag, I open fire. Don't like it? Tough shit.

people who are so pathetic irl that they have nothing better to do than play video games 16 hours a day and then laugh about how other people are noobs and gay, blah blah blah.

19 year old virgin playing games in his moms basement over xbox live ((L4D)): Dude, you need to learn how to play you fuckin nooB!

Me: gee, sorry. I was too busy having sex with my girlfriend, drinking at parties, and training for two sports to get the game when it came out and play it every nanosecond since.

Utter silence fell over the line.
That's because you're an utter fuckwit and they weren't nearly as willing to say as much to you with their cloak of +4 internet anonymity as I am. I have sex with my girlfriend, drink casually, and don't both training for things I don't find entertaining, though I do coach a 'sports' team, to use your vague term from your 'two sports' line. I don't play video games my every waking moment, and whether you realize it or not being a teacher is actually a very time consuming job. Do any of these facts matter at all? Naw, not really, but since you shared your life story I thought I should share mine. Otherwise I'd have you at a tremendous disadvantage.

So, why do I expect you to pay attention to what's going on when you play a video game with me? Because if you're only ever going to be playing while you're 'wasted' at your 'parties' you're actually hurting everyone else's enjoyment of the game. That's why they're hostile with you. Now, these hostile people you were attempting to characterize do exist. They're a sad sort who only play with other people like them, and only until those people decide that they are too 'lolol nub' to play with them, and then they sulk off to a new group that is 't0o pr0 4 u' until eventually they pick up a new game and starts the circle of life all over again. However, with you? I think it's well warranted.

Of course, that's just my assessment from your 'bro' attitude you just displayed.

"LOLOLOL VIRGINS LOLOLOLOL I R HAZ LIF SO GUD I HAZ 2 BRG"

Even if they are 19 year old virgins going to some community college... Their conservative nature is none of your damn business and has nothing to do with their worth. Maybe they're one of those rare high moral folk that actually believe chastity to be a good idea? I know I didn't wait until I was married, but then again... I was lucky enough to grow up in an area with quite a few attractive females with low standards. Sue me. Why does that impact their gaming lives in the least? Some of those people are definitely clocking 16 hours a day on their latest toy, but fuck me if some drunken frat boy going 'FOOOOOOTBAAAAAAAAAAALL' during my recreational activities is going to be let off with a casual 'Could you stop shouting into your mic about that fat bowl you just smoked and play the game?'
Overreact much?

The ones that call you a noob for not using their preffered weapon or tactic. I was called a noob on Call of Duty 4 for using a silenced weapon with UAV Jammer to clar out nests of snipers/campers. You know why I was called a noob? Because I wasn't using an M16 with stopping power.
I'll play however I want to on CoD, stop telling me how to play.
Every weapon, perk, tactic and technique possible in COD4 will be called noobish by some idiot, so I stopped caring.

I once got called a noob for using the G36C. WTF?

Though Martyrdom did get very annoying in the last few months...

Huh.

Slightly hyperbolic post, but I see your point.

I never played CoD4 but the whining about Martyrdom reached me. Then I got MW2, and used Martyrdom as soon as I got it...and promptly got completely confused about the rage. It's really not that useful, I haven't got anyone with it yet.

I was called a noob using a bolt action rifle in CoD5. It's weird how that happens. We're noobs because we're better I guess.

Idiots on WoW who won't let other players into a raid because they haven't done it before.
How the hell will they learn if people don't give them chances?
Yup. That's why I stopped playing MMORPGs. I joined a guild, which is something I never do in any game, and they still treated me like dog shit because I had never played before. It sucked all of the fun right out of the whole thing.

I was hoping someone would call me out on the way I lumped him into a vague category in the same we he does. There's a word for that, but I dare not say it for fear a hundred people will continue to quote me... Using my own words against me, and pretending they didn't read them here. God bless the internet!

You mean, call you a hippopotamus?

Wait, that's not the right word...

Ah well. Anyhow, I hear y'all on the n00b hate. N00bs are people just as much as anyone else, and they need help, otherwise they will never blossom into full l33t h4xx0rz. How can we justify being mean to them?

Hardcore Raiders/PvPers "leet" attitude. Especially from fools who've been playing a game half as long as I have. While I both raid and pvp, I also have a life that starts at 8 PM when I'm up and getting ready for work. That being said, were I working a job that was more "gaming convenient" when the majority of raids/pvp groups/teams/instances forming, I'd prolly be just as arrogant and arseholish. :D

Of course, I'd not be playing as much were I a day worker. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Completely different perk in MW2

1. In COD4, it wasn't a deathstreak. You shat out a grenade with every death.

2. Maps were much smaller and less campy, there was a lot more close range battles and rushing, so a lot bigger chance of getting Martyrdom killed.

3. Grenade damage was (rightly) taken down in MW2, in COD4, superpowered nades were being spammed all over the place.

Martyrdom was guaranteed to get you some cheap kills on most maps, and it really fucked up the whole flow and pace of the objective based games.

4. Having to flee from a corpse is just ridiculous....

I volunteered at the World Cyber Games Sydney National finals for 2 years in a row, back in 2004 /2005. Many of the pro gamers were actually really nice, especially the solo gamers for games like War 3 and Unreal Tournament. The Counterstrike clans were a bit different though...

That being said. The thing I tend to dislike about people who think they're pro .. are clans that hang out in public games. Sides become ridiculously stacked, and the clans start smacktalking and insulting everyone on the opposite side.

I like to switch to the opposite side, but players either leave, or try switch to the clan's team, making it even more one-sided and un-fun.

Spawn killing, people who use the cheapest abilities/weapons all the time, I would say teabagging as well but it's hilarious in BF2 since you're in first person view.
