I can't tell you how many times I've put off otherwise datable girls because I had to make the choice between them, and breathing.

Oh, and a good face is a prerequisite. You can have the greatest body in the world, but I ain't kissing something that looked like it crawled out of the black lagoon.

Personally I like a girl with a personality, a sense of humour and is rather good looking.

For me, you've pretty much nailed it. (personality for me, also includes intelligence). So I'll just list a bunch of turn offs:

1. moderate-to-excessive amounts of make-up
2. Being -very- opinionated (my way or the highway)
3. Vacuousness
4. Tiffany-twisted
5. A socialite/party-girl
6. Questionable authenticity/'overstater' (ex: Man, I SO MISS Italy right now) (ex: Oh HIIII, I MISSED YOU!!!)

In a girl: Decent personalty. Can actually put up with me. Someone who can match me for wits. Similar sense of humour. Decent looking (basically, so long as she's normal looking and not absolutely horrific). I'd like her to be slightly adventurous, or at least willing to try some new stuff (Please, if it's there, get your mind out of the gutter). Not a complete ***** who hangs out with the idiots. Similar-ish taste in music. Just generally likable. Able to argue/debate constructively. Willing to get involved with certain things (helping out with clubs/parties etc.) Not massively racist/sexist/homophobic/bigot.
I'd like that stuff, but if a few of those things are missing then so what?

If she can kick my ass, I'm sold.

- must enjoy analyzing EVERYTHING, or at least tolerate my analyses.
- must be committed to the simple life. i will choose my organic garden over you.
- must play tabletop rpgs. seriously.

for men:
- must look like a woodsman, a warrior, or a rum-runner. if you do not own suspenders, a giant beard, or a sword, go home.

for women:
- must look like a pin-up model or sexy librarian. dangerously underweight women with purple hair encouraged to apply.

Doesn't place much value in traditions.

For me, I prefer guys with a wide variety of interests. Seriously, if you only have one obsession, I'm out. They should also be able to keep up with my verbal sparring (arguing, if you will), and have a similar wry sense of humour. A gamer is a plus ;-)

A few other things that I can't have in the opposite sex:
Being overly protective (I feel smothered)
Questionable sincerity (*On the second date* "Oh honey, I love you soooooo much. Let's get married and have lots of CHILDREN!! Now lie down and spread your legs")
No social skills (I don't want to train them)
