Pretty simple, what invention, world changing, trivial, what-have-you, was invented in the country you call home?

I'll go first.

America- Airplane, Machinegun, bifocals, tumbler lock (I believe), and the telephone.

EDIT: LISTS DON'T COUNT SLACKERS!!!
From the Netherlands: Stocks and microscopes. We Dutch did invent a whole of a bunch more but did so elsewhere.(we practically ruled the entire world once)

Owh and I saw that someone claimed his/her country invented internet. This is false regardless from which country you are. The internet was created by the scientists at CERN an INTERNATIONAL organisation that studies / researches the physics of particles.

Internet.

Also everything in this song.
internet was invented in britian.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Berners-Lee
The way I understand it is that the Brits made the local area network between a few universities while they then in the states "upgraded" it to the world wide web. Or am I completely wrong now?
well, the worlds first car had three wheels.

The British invented America... Think about it.
Well my good sir, America was invented by no man... but rather by geological forces that are still being studied to this day. I suggest you pack up your bag and go home.
Wait, so a piece of land made things even though dirt isn't alive?

I don't know if you're just kidding from the video but you do realise the British invented the Internet right?

"Sir Timothy John "Tim" Berners-Lee, OM, KBE, FRS, FREng, FRSA (born 8 June 1955,[1] also known as "TimBL"), is a British engineer and computer scientist and MIT professor credited with inventing the World Wide Web"

America-Cars. Without them i'd... probably enjoy my life more most likely. Wouldn't have to deal with those douchebags who drive around with their windows down and rap music at full volume for one thing.
No, Ze Germans Got to that that before we did...damn Mercedes. Though we DID make them a part of civilized society.
OT-
THE NUCLEAR FUCKING BOMB MOTHER FUCKERS. Changing War as we know it since 1945 (Yes I googled that)
Though once again, ze Germans had a hand in it and would have come up with it had we not bombed the fuck out of their country.
Everybody knows that the Manhattan project happened in America, but can Americans truly claim they invented the nuclear bomb? The three lead scientists where German, Italian and Hugarian. So yeah.

I heard somewhere that a guy from Denmark invented the burglar alarm... But was stolen from him...
Other than that:

*Magnetic storage, Valdemar Poulsen (1869-1942), the grandfather of the tape recorder and the harddisc.
*A danish guy, Peter L. Jensen (1887-1962), was one of the inventors the loudspeaker.
*The dry-battery, Wilhelm Hellesen (1836-1892)
*Insulin, August Krogh (1874-1949)
*The fiber-scope/endoscope, Holger Møller Hansen (1915-2000)
*And most importantly, the LEGO brick, Ole Kirk Christiansen (1891-1951)

Among many other great things...

Ah yes but the phone was invented by a Scotsman! Also the tv... yup we pretty much paved the way for xbox live. Sorry.

EDIT: I see this has just been discussed. To clarify, according to the great all-knowing one (wikipedia) AGB was born in Edinburgh (huzzah for this great city!) but moved to Canada, where he invented the telephone and patented it in America. Hence confusion
