some people's parents were/are strict about it, others didn't care. I was never able to get a M-rated game until i got into middle school, and I'm sure it was much later for some people.

the first mature-rated game I got was Halo 3, and that was when i was in 7th grade (i even went to the midnight release). from that point on, it hasn't mattered.

so now, i ask my fellow escapists: what was your first mature-rated game?
Metal Gear Solid

Solid Snake on Shadow Moses Island, in the dead of winter? Oh yeah. I wanted to buy it, but my mom wouldn't let me. Then my friend's family bought it for me for my birthday, so I got to play it. =D

Note: I got it pretty soon after it first came out, so I was like... 10, 11 when my friend got it for me.

The first one I bought was Super Street Fighter 2. I remember the sales guy warning my dad. :) He wasn't too concerned. And hey, good call cause I didn't turn out a serial killer! [small](as far as my dad knows)[/small]

Ah, memories. For me, it was Oblivion. And that was just because it isn't very m-rated at all. (My parents are very protective as far as violence and blood go).

honestly cant remember
british as well, so we didnt have "m"
just 15s and 18s

let's see
probably mortal kombat when i was around 6
few years later there was doom and duke nukem, dont know which i played first
turok 2 came soon after, but goldeneye came slightly before (it was a 15 i believe, so i dunno if that counts as m)
err
oh, there was body harvest when i was 7 or 8 as well
god, there have been a lot

umm, well i didnt play gta 3 until i was like 10... but i played 1 and 2 when i was somewhere between 7 and 9...

wow, having an older brother definitely made the early games i played "special"
on the plus side, i was never like addicted to violence or anything
i enjoyed pokemon and mario just as much and ocarina of time was my favourite game for so long and wind waker was my most anticipated narrowly beating twilight princess

but yeah... around 5 or 6 i believe

I can't remember which I got first now, but Die Hard Trilogy, Mortal Kombat 3 and Resident Evil for psx were probably my first mature games. I was about 8 if I recall.

I think It was Kagero: Deception 2. for the PS1

It was hard, but compelling, conjuring traps to teach squishy morals a lesson about trespassing, had quite abit of blood in it from what I remember.

pretty rare game, and I don't have it anymore, but does anyone remember it?

I used to kick my dads ass at Mortal Kombat 1-3!

Who said violent games have a negative effect on kids?

*twitches*.

The banned PS1 game, thrill kill o_O
You got hold of it? That game is so crazy lol
I think that if it came out right now it wouldn't be banned.

Lets make a Thrill Kill revival petition :p
