Tales of Vesperia (PAL) for 90$. Now, you may read that and think "hey, that's very expensive", but realize that this was very recently, and the game has become surprisingly hard to find (online) lately.

I checked literally every online video game store in my country (Norway), then a ton of stores in the UK (where it was priced between 140$ and 325$, as well as refusing to ship internationally), before finally checking eBay and getting it for the price I mentioned.

I have absolutely no idea why this was so difficult. This game was released two years ago, what the hell happened?

The NTSC version, of course, is available for 25$ new. Why oh fucking why is the 360 region-locked?

[sub]Also got Persona 4 for 30$[/sub]
Wha- seriously?!

PAL-region, Belgian guy here, recently bought Tales of Vesperia for 29,95 EUR, nothing to it.

As for other great deals I had: recently there was both a huge sale in the local game shop AND the nearby video store closed it doors, which meant another huge sale.

For about 50 EUR I got about 15 old school PS2-titles (Second Sight, God Hand, Alien Hominid, ...). I also took the opportunity to buy a back-up of the cult-classic Rez. I already had it, but since it's fairly rare got and cheap as hell, I thought: "Why not?" Also, Lost Odyssey for 15 EUR. Again, I already had it, but when I saw this whole basket full of Lost Odyssey games, I just couldn't resist. You never know when one of those four discs ends up getting scratched.

Furthermore:
- Mad World for 6,95
- Bioshock 2 Collector's Edition for 20
- Condemned 2 for 9,95
- Fallout 3 GOTY for 21,95
- All the 'not for resale' copies I got for free when reviewing games

Madness! Did you buy it from a local shop or online?

I got a DS and Dragon Quest XII from a friend of my dad for about $40.

That's the most recent one.

Got Kingdom Hearts 2 for about $15 bucks used. Have logged 250 hours into it in four playthroughs. That's about 7.5 cents an hour.

But the best deal was when I got a PS2, two controllers, and a slew of games for the record breaking price of $0. My friends gave them all to me, since I said that I wanted a PS2. I've loved the black brick ever since.

So, I guess I get really lucky deals with games. Then again, I buy pre-owned, and rarely buy new, so yeah...

I can't believe nobody else has mentioned the sale on Age of Empires III Complete, with the base game along with two expansions for 10 MS Points on GFWL.

Although, it WAS on Games for Windows Live, I guess that's worse than having to pay more money.

Portal, during that week when it was free.
Gotta love any game you didn't pirate where the "time spent playing" to price paid ratio is a case of dividing by zero.

Although if we're going by time spent playing to price paid, I could've paid $1,000 for Rome: Total War and still gotten a pretty good deal! The fact that the game and its expansion cost me only a combined $90 makes it a steal.

(but on-topic, I've got a bunch of games in my collection that were $2 or less for Steam holiday sales in 2009 and 2010.)

Curses my living in Edmonton has stopped me from getting cheap batman.

OT: The best deal I ever got was either TW2 for $15 or getting RE3 for $20.

NOTE: if anyone living in Vancouver or Calgary wants me to buy them a copy of the $11 Batman game while the price is still what it is, message me.

Awww i live in Edmonton...
But the best deal i got was the orange box 20$ in my opinion. Also assassins creed 2 andbioshock 2 for 20$ Not so sure if those count as good deals but they were good enough.

It's funny you mention Arkham Asylum, as I was going to buy it I noticed there was a 2-game pack that I could also purchase it in in which I'd get the game Just Cause 1 as well. I wasn't particularly interested until I noticed one little detail... the 2-game pack costed... 2 dollars less. Steam is funny.

I bought Singularity for $10 today, and I was all set to brag until my friend showed me a photo of Bioshock 2: Collector's Edition on sale at Wal-Mart. $1.

He wins. He wins everything in this thread, forever.

Deadspace2 sells in Australia for around $100. I got it today for $25, and am in the process of downloading it from the EA download manager.
