...Simple? Because humans will always find somthing to seperate themselves in order to place themselves in a higher position than others. Thus, the seperation of the 'Oh well I knew about the escapist before ZP therefore I am better' group and the nervous yet somtimes overly rowdy and pushy 'ZeroPunctuation yay! Ohheylookaforum!' crowd.
It'll pass with time. Don't let it bother you.
But then of course there are the truly scary people who do worship Yahtzee as the prophet of gaming. Which quite frankly creeps me out. Yahtzee is a kindred spirit in that I was cynical toward games merely a few years after I was exposed to them, and I used to have these little ranting sessions in front of my friends about the stupidest of things (Mario's mushroom and stars fixation was a frequent), So I greatly enjoy his work. In fact when it was first linked to me, the comment under the link by my smart arsed friend was: lol hey Charli it's a dude you! (Accent, expansive vocabulary, the entire malarky)
But I have disagreed with his opinion of several games, hell, I love JRPGs, agreed there is alot of bullshite, there is arguably alot of the same in any of the other genres, it's just a preferance for my lazy nature. I like sitting there mashing the X/A button and reading tonnes of drivel. (I blame my mother)
But anyway, rambling, the point is; most of the people hating ZP, are the following:
1) Elitests unable to their swallow pride
2) People with dull sense of humour (I like to think of them as Wikipedia lurkers)
3) People that actually think Yahtzee is REVIEWING the game
4) Your dear old Aunt
